Hanlan is better than him in so many ways and probably still learning the hold up role, being what seems more of a converted winger.

There is a real possibility Hanlan ends up with double figures goals wise.

Hanlan is definitely not up to L1 standard, would be very surprised if he get double figures. We need much better.

Where did I say ‘sign Joe Ironside’?

I said Joe offered the team much more than Hanlan does.

Hanlan has only ever scored double figures in a season once in his career.

I’ve never seen him move towards the channels (if he is a winger) to receive the ball so that he can receive a through ball & use his pace & control (neither attribute I’ve yet witnessed from him on a regular basis if at all) & don’t tell me he’s following Grant’s instructions by staying central.

He’s Lg1 standard & we’re stuck with him for another season.

We need better……desperately.

In think we’ve improved Hanlan and he is now really grafting for the team, which when he arrived I didn’t feel that was the case ! That said we desperately need better, however finding him is a different matter.

Yes but it was a deflection/og in the end. And the previous match we won via a penalty. We are still not a goal scoring side and need much much better quality up front.

Correction, he’s at best a League 2 player.

He’s worth at least 12 month deal. Hardly put a foot wrong it was was a dodgy defence.

  Both our current central defenders have played very well since becoming a pair, both are experienced and know their  limitations and play the game accordingly.
  Their strength is stopping the other side from playing, the part of the game that a lot of supporters miss, a good example was Byrne automatically taking one for the team at Bolton and showed his competitive side, an automatic reaction to a situation in the game.

Too be fair, everyone was mourning the loss of Joseph Olowu to Stockport; however, he has either been subbed off, or has come on as a substitute in half of the 38 games he has been involved in this year.... so perhaps not the messiah he was lauded as.

Maybe they’ve got better options in that position. I would still say we really missed his pace and strength until GM decided who his back line was going to be and benched Jay for a bit.
