One of the worst grounds I've ever been to, Bootham Crescent. Only went once and it was cold, cramped, stank of piss and we got beat 1-0. We ended up relegating them at Belle Vue later in the season and winning the league, so did get revenge, but it was a miserable afternoon of togger. Haven't been to the new ground but not a team I look at fondly because of that day!
Strangely I rather liked grounds like that..I was at the 1-1 there in 83/84, still queueing to get in when York got a penalty. Could just see through the turnstile to the middle of the penalty area. From the away fans noise and player reactions, I could tell Peacock saved it..I could be wrong but was that game played on a Sunday, which was quite unusual at the time?Yes it was definitely on a Sunday afternoon, can't remember why. They were top of the league and flying. I think we were about 3rd. We were all over them and Glyn Snodin gave us the lead. We should have been out of sight but didn't take our chances, (sound familiar)? Peacock made a howler to give them the equaliser and that was it. I can't remember the penalty incident but that's probably just an age thing. They won the league by a mile but we were promoted too so happy all round. Great memories.
Both deserve promotion, with any justice the loser of the final game will win the play-offs.
The maths are simple. If York get 2 more points they will be promoted. However if they get 3 more points they might not be promoted.
Currently looking good for York..Very likely Rochdale will join them on 100+ points, yet only one can win automatic promotion. That's ridiculous isn't it?

That's ridiculous isn't it?It's incredible. If York and Rochdale both win today, then Rochdale win next week, York will finish on 107 points. 2.33 ppg. And not get automatic promotion. I doubt that's ever happened before in the history of professional football.

But County were promoted in via playoffs, but not without much drama
Living York, the City is having a sporting renaissance at the moment, Knights promoted to Super League and football club doing well.Hearing that the council are putting up a big screen in city center for the Rochdale game.Hope they make it after getting robbed by Oldham last season.
Wtf!!!!!! 98th min winner for rochdale
Sets it up superbly for next weekend. Rochdale fans must have aged 10 years these last few weeks.
