A coffee with Dave Rennie

When you have an hour to spare this is a must listen. Some very interesting insight into how things operate behind the scenes.

Dave comes across brilliantly. Very humble guy but clearly a top operator.

It was an excellent appointment since he has had  top level experience at Leicester Coty .Moreover he comes across as a very thoughtful intermediary between the manager and players .

Seems a great guy. I wonder if Gotts and Hanlons improvement in the second half of the season is down to ‘getting to the numbers’ Grant expects fitness-wise.

An excellent interview and I think we are very lucky to have him at our club.

A very confident, relaxed, knowledgeable and likeable bloke.
I imagine the players and staff all love him.
Seems we’re extremely lucky to have him.

Yes, good interview although I would have liked to hear a bit more specifics without him naming players, so we can relate to the difference he's making (other than the overall reduction in injuries of course)

Maybe we overlook this side of performance management when we think about team selection and seemingly not getting a settled side.

Gotts mentioned in his interview about his own performance levels, after his injury affected start to the season, not being up to it. Took him sometime to get properly settled and performing but he's been 100% since.

He's not the sort to release that sort of stuff, even if  he didn't name names forum would be alight with guesswork. He's  given is a great insight,  whilst maintaining his professionalism .  He mentioned the stories at Leicester without any details and that years ago, so no chance  hed let cat of the bag here

Happy to be proven wrong but it does feel like we have fewer injuries with him behind the scenes. Whether that is also down to the bigger squad and rotation, investment in the training facilities, or just a general improvement in the sport science field I don't know, but Dave does come across extremely well and think he's a big asset for us.

We have a lot fewer injury problems since he arrived, and it has made massive impacts towards the end of seasons, this man is the best signing that Rovers have ever made.
