More than likely they will be champions by the time we play them, do we line up and give them a guard of honour next Tuesday, asking for a friend, who’s a Lincoln supporter

You'd expect so.

I remember 50 years ago this weekend when Rovers gave Lincoln a guard of honour as the  players clapped out the Fourth Division champions as they took to the field at Sincil Bank. There was an expectation amongst Rovers fans that they would be in party mood that day, well it was a party alright, they hammered us 5-0!

I was at that one, no segregation and in amongst the Lincoln fans at one end with balloons everywhere.  Miserable result for us.  Percy Freeman was their big battering ram no.9 and they had a clever winger Kryswicki (sp?)… probably the last time Lincoln had any glory until recent years.  If they had hung onto Graham Taylor as manager it might have been a different story… Watford’s gain.
Well done Lincoln.  Spurs at Sincil Bank next season?!!

A quote likely scenario is that Lincoln will be champions and we will be mathematically safe by this fixture.  Could be high scoring.!
