Hanlon looked like a different player out on the wing, a real threat.

Agreed. I thought he had a really good game and never stopped working and tracking back when needed.

MoM for me. I thought he was superb. With anything like a decent ref, he gets the left back sent off, because their lad simply couldn't handle him and committed 3 yellow card offences in 5 minutes.

It was like having 2018/19 vintage Mallik Wilks back in the side.

As he's been played out of position all season that's hardly a basis for making such a judgement is it.. ?

He played there because Mols was absent.

Ok.  But surely he's played in the middle a lot rather than out wide? Judging him playing him in a position that is not where his skills and preferences lie is surely a bit OTT? I could understand if the argument is that we don't need another winger, but for folk to say he's useless is wrong. Yesterday, playing in his natural position, proved that.

Cheers

McCann thought there was something off about Butlers comments too it seems.

I suspect Butler doesn’t want Billy around for the same reasons that Wellens didn’t want Butler. Got to be careful not to have someone if your team who wouldn’t mind replacing you.

The left back looked like he was running in treacle from kick off, assumed he must be carrying an injury hence why he was so handsy, he couldn't keep up at alll

I think this is somewhat insulting to the vintage Mallik!
Completely different quality.

That third goal. He received it slightly behind him & wide of the goal, adjusted turned 360 degrees looked up & slotted it between keeper & post.

A fantastic predatory goal only he could have scored.

We’re going to miss him more than we know.

This is not sentiment talking or me getting carried away by the day but……we have had worse players on the books under Grant who were signed to do what only Billy can.

Offer him another year.

Great decision to let him go, scores a hat trick in his last game, guy hasn’t got it any more, what a joke. Going out on top what a way to go, well done Billy.

None of the Peterborough players appealed for offside when Billy netted what would have been his 300th career goal.

Could not that Lino have kept his flag down for gawd’s sake, we’ve seen worse given. I hope he & not Billy has a sleepless night.

Put Billy in Broadbent place when he was one on one with the keeper & it’s a goal all day long.

As for the three chances Hanlan had, two of them just him & the keeper & well, Billy finishes the game with two match balls!

Looked tight but off to me, unless you’ve seen another angle I’m not sure you can definitively call it.

Typical Sharp goals today. What a way to sign off and what a privilege it’s been seeing him do that time and time again over the years.

Is it true that Billy is the oldest Englishman to score a hat trick?

I will miss seeing him at the club. What a legend!

Opta tweeted that he has now scored EFL hattricks in his teens, twenties, thirties and forties.

I don't imagine there's many others who have achieved that!

Cried my eyes out at the end when he came over. The man had just scored a hat trick in his final game for his “second home club,” yet he looked more gutted about not reaching 300. That tells you everything about him , relentless his entire career. A brilliant touch from the players and staff too, stepping back to let him have his moment and only moving forward when he was ready. It’s been a season with some dark nights, but this is a fantastic group of players, whatever people say about their quality. Love this club.

If that 4th had counted it would have been one of the greatest things I’ve seen at a football match.
