Unreal season for Lincoln reading that. 19 more points than when we won it.

It is interesting to compare pre and post conference seasons performances and see how we have improved.

In the 40 seasons from 1958-59 to 1997-98 we had 10 seasons in tier 3 and 30 in tier 4

The 10 in tier 3 saw 5 relegations and a best finish of 11th

In the 23 seasons since we returned to the league, we have had 5 in the Championship, 13 in League 1, and 5 in league 2.

The 13 seasons in league 1 have seen only two relegations but have also seen two promotions and a playoff campaign.

We have grown from having a most frequent home in tier 4 to one in tier 3

They used the Loan market very wisely, including 4 forward players. I think we need to use the loan market better than we have done over the past few seasons

As I grew up in the 60s and 70s Rovers were generally 4th division, they have developed into a much better club since then, thanks for confirming my perception DU.

1958/59 was my first season and wasn’t great to see the least. I was hooked though and the next three seasons were awful.
Oscar Hold signed some good players and we were improving with better gates. On our day we could beat anyone.
The gradual improvement leading to promotion in 1965/66 really had us thinking that we were going places. A good start and then the car crash stalled our season and Hubert Bates’s lack of foresight cost us dearly. I do feel that had we consolidated that season we could have really progressed. Although we went up again in 68/69 we never quite reached the heights that we had hoped for.
The last 20 odd years have certainly been eventful and helps make up for some of my early years and the Conference days.
Enjoy what we have while it is here and try not to be too down in a slump.
