Abdul Abdulmalik

Borehamwood right winger, aged 23. He’s been tearing it up in the national league. Having a blinder in the final too. Get him signed!

Should be signed on the basis of name alone.

Same with Mickey Mellon.

Not saying you’re wrong but you could have said exactly the same thing about Joe Sbarra two years ago. He looked a class above all season and stood out in the play off final against Bromley. Not that he let anyone down but he didn’t turn out to be the exciting gem we might have expected.

Would we be wasting money on a right winger when we have Molyneux? and really do need a central striker.

He remains under contract so would require a fee. He wouldn't be cheap.

Mainly a left winger but can play anywhere across that line... We do need a striker, but didn't realise we could only sign one player this summer?

If they don’t go up, he will be agitating for a move so club loses leverage even if under contract. He’s had a good season so doubt we would be front of queue even if we had any interest.

Tbf, Grant has said that he wants a right and left winger. But then again, who knows which player/s he’s looking at today.

As an aside to this player, Rochdale have finally prevailed on penalties.

Just reward for their whole season..

Been saying it for months!

I worry he has made too much of a name for himself now.

He’s ok but the NL standard is absolutely miles off it. He’s electric 1v1 but I wouldn’t get too carried away with him.

Grant said they were “working on something different for that side of the pitch” when discussing Glenn Middleton in the recent interview.

Looking at Abdul’s highlights he’s everything he would love in a winger.

Rightly or wrongly, we don't tend to risk paying significant transfer fees for lower league prospects.

Can't see us being in for him. It's just not what we do.

Maybe Grant was taking a look at Matt Rush, scored an excellent goal, could be one of our two new strikers.

You can see with Abdulmalik that he has that sort of raw pace and dribbling ability that could allow him to make two steps up at once like Reyes Cleary did.

Zak Brunt? Not too sure. Not seen much of him. Got to be careful. Worth noting that Joe Sbarra hit double figures in half a season for Solihull.

For what it's worth, I thought Brunt was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch yesterday. Covered every inch of ground, made some thumping challenges and when he got the ball, he was immediately looking for simple, quick forward passes. And he rarely missed his aim. There's definitely a player in there.

I watched loads of him when we signed Broadbent (played together). Couldnt believe that anyone scouting Broadbent wouldn't instantly realise that Brunt has far more about him.

AA has got another 12 months on his contract with aa further years option. He will come at a decent cost I would imagine, especially as the internet is melting down about him.

Certainly loads of talent but may be best served finding a more undervalued option.

There was a tweet, some days ago, about us having agreed a deal for Brunt and, separately, I’d heard we were signing someone today.

As there’s been nothing on either X or the Vikings site, I thought maybe it would end up being later in the week.

But, maybe not!?

Does Brunt have the athleticism we need from what you’ve seen Gaz?
