One of those heard from a friend about an update announcing later regarding naming rights, makes sense with eco power purchasing kingswood golf course.

Could have been called worse….im naive to the financial loss of
No naming rights but maybe it’s alll accounted for going forward, who knows future expansion where the hill is, smaller stadium for the bells and rugby? Indoor arena…

New stadia often have rubbish names. I get the intent behind this choice, but it is an especially sterile, characterless, mouthful of a name.

No one wanted their name in lights or to associated with us .. that’s so sad when your think we’re invested in around the pitch digital advertising. What does this say about our appeal locally .

Think it’s brilliant me and I really hope we go highly ambitious with it. The potential is there has proven by all the recent events the club have put on.
I’d love to see us do more in terms of music especially. We have 2 hugely popular singers who are both interested in putting on music festivals and identifying talent to sign up. Where better than here? They’ll pull names and numbers in, get them involved. Just not in the way we wanted to previously

- There is zero chance we have given up sponsorship money without a longer term financial plan in place. If we prove the concept works as a “village” then we’ll receive much more lucrative offers for partner rights down the line. If they took an offer now, it’ll limit what the deal that follows can bring in as companies would use it as a benchmark.

- Having the stadium (village) hold more and bigger events will make the club as a whole much more attractive to a good buyer, as will a vast improvement in its earning potential. Absolute no brainer.

- Just a good thing for the city as a whole, more events for us to enjoy and development of land that isn’t just copycat houses for a change.

I can see the vision.

Exactly most people only see what’s in front of them, no vision, old
School negative mentality, love to moan about anything, boo players and then cry when they want to leave.

Looked down the list of things I give a shit about and this definitely isn't on there.

Only question is why we are foregoing revenue from selling the naming rights. Will be decent if not massive sum.

We’re not forgoing sponsorship money. There’ll still be room for them.

But the plan is to grow the Club Doncaster brand so that will be a constant going forward.

Slightly off topic, but with the impending closure of The Cheswold and Beefeater pubs, is there a scope for a larger bar, or a second one at the stadium?

They are not necessarily closing them ,they are looking to sell off the pub buildings and rent them back releasing capital to invest in the business, some will be turned into extra rooms, the new idea will be like the holiday inn express so it's all under one roof

Actually that's the wrong way to think about it.  Think you're a business why would you sponsor a stadium name? Exposure. Why do you need exposure? Probably because your brand isn't strong, you're growing or looking to divest (eco power).

To rovers the stadium name isn't worth much in financial terms. I've worked for numerous businesses involved in sports sponsorship at the lower leagues and whilst it isn't that expensive the benefits are tiny, there's way better ways to advertise.

Most sponsors are fans or friends of owners or often the actual owners and that's why they do it.

I'm intrigued as to what the future plans are, there's potential in that site for sure, I wonder if they'd like the freehold of the whole site at some point aswell as a lease.

Unless anyone with more detailed knowledge can say otherwise, I think the number of sponsors have increased in recent times, which is very positive. I'd certainly rather see more and more local businesses get involved with Rovers/Club Doncaster for obvious reasons.

IF there comes a time when we find ourselves being courted by a national or international name who want to lavish  big money on us, who have no association with the city, then we'll have to rethink.

I see this as a brilliant idea to help attract the successor to Terry Bramall and have them espouse not only a football club but Club Doncaster and its strategy of providing sporting, health, and leisure activities to the community . Not many EFL clubs can offer that.

Why not save money on the lettering by simply calling it The BB Stadium?

This is probably where Burton (with Pirelli) have dropped on. All the others are horrid - from ToughSheet to Brick to Weston Homes, I could go on - at least it's none of those.

Has anyone put thought into what the stadium/area is going to be known as when referred to by media,  local and national? Radio Sheffield were calling it "The Village" last night.
Nice catchy, short name to go with yesterday's announcement would've been good.
Maybe someone's going to think about that next?
