Think times have changed and the majority of people have news delivered to them through social media feeds, rather than go looking for news themselves on a website. And yes, I know some people will still do that but the majority will not, hence much greater attention paid to how content is provided through social feeds.

The Leon Ayinde signing was covered nicely on the DRFC F/book page if that helps!

That's true, I think the trouble in this case was that all that was posted on social media feeds was that we'd signed him, with no details of whether it was a loan/permanent and length of contract. Usually social posts dovetail with a link to a website article containing these further details but that wasn't the case.

I got excited when I first saw the anouncement, I thought it said 27 goals in 2 matches for Rochdale but then I realised I had misread it.

Schools in my part of the world are making the search for truthful information from internet sources part of the curriculum .

They never even told the local journo about the signing. He was as surprised as everyone.

That will change now she’s left the job. Those above wouldn’t be happy nor accept the club having a poor relationship with its local journalist.

I've just tried to listen to Jake Orams interview but had to switch it off because it's a tough listen.
The interviews just don't feel natural and they really grate on me.

Quoting myself but the voice in the Oram video is the same girl as previous so there must be 2 involved. 1 girl has definitely left the job.

They have not yet appointed a replacement for Liam ( understand that will be 1/7 ) ,meanwhile, Holly from the Media team is being given the opportunity to gain experience. We have the same attitude with off field staff of helping the younger generation.

Hollie being given the opportunity to gain experience??
She came in above Hoden as communications manager so I would have thought she's the finished article.

I can’t find many comments about Leon from Ipswich fans but I came across this one:

“Great signing - he has progressed well and could be a regular Championship player in a few years”

He wouldn’t get past the D E I quota, unless he came out as "trans" or something such.

Doesn’t make sense. There are so many good people in the media/ social media space at the minute. How have we ended up with someone learning on the job when we had a functioning person already in the role? Got to be more to all this, creating content is a f**kin huge part of everything these days. Just find someone really good. Was the job even advertised, don’t remember seeing it publicly promoted.

I wouldn't listen to the post matches on YT if we don't get a decent interviewer in. Too much of a tough listen.

Usually news is prepared well in advance with local media, embargoed and time limited, Hoden because of his previous employment would've had that on page 1, step 1 of the communications manual.

Grant has  maybe decided to take on that responsibility by getting news out himself of a possible signing soon hinted at in this article below?

I love how Ricky C says the news of the signing "caught plenty on the hop", well, except the Ipswich based journalist he managed to get info from!

https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/were-close-grant-mccann-hints-at-further-transfer-activity-as-doncaster-rovers-get-to-work-early-8558080

What is Eni Aluko doing now? She'd  up the diversity quotient. Would tick at least two boxes.

TBF, most interview questions could be scripted.... you could just give the interviewee a set of 10 questions and ask him to answer into the camera.

The usuals are...

How do you feel about signing...?
Was the manager a big influence on you signing...?
What do you consider to be your biggest strength as a player...?
Who was your biggest inspiration or role model growing up...?
Why Doncaster Rovers...?

It’s not rocket surgery….

I'll add to that list.   Is talking about how emotional you feel the first thing you want to do when someone shoves a microphone in your face?
