LPG conversions
« on May 29, 2026, 07:04:09 am by Nudga »
I've just bought a camparvan which is a notoriously heavy petrol guzzler so thinking about lpg conversion for it.
Has anyone had it done? How have you found it, as in engine noise, maintenance issues?
Basically pros and cons to having it done.

Cheers.

Not had a conversion as such but ran a company car many years ago that had it as standard.

But, my understanding after it had been sold on is that the government reneged on the deal they promised with regards to subsidies on the price and the garages then started to take the pumps off their forecourts. Not sure what the state of play is today.

Make sure that your insurance company will insure you after a conversion. Some years ago my foreman converted his car to LPG and then rang his insurance company to inform them and they said that they wouldn’t insure the car and cancelled his policy.
