I know it's ages away yet but just wondering if anyone has any tips for driving to Selhurst Park (other than simply, don't)?

I generally prefer driving to away games rather than get the coach or the train but this one looks a real pain in the arse!

drive to a tube station in london say stanford sure thats on the northern line,
park yer car up then get the tube to palace, hence tube back to your car after game
and back up north in yer car

would say it will put a extra hour on travelling time getting across london on the tube as i guess you will bea tad wet behind the ears on that score

stanmore is the station, JUST OFF THE A41  NEAR WEMBLEY
GOOD CAR PARK, BUT THINK IT STOPS ART EVERY STATION UNLESS YOU CHANGE AT WEMBLEY OR BAKER STREET

Just had a look at the London journey planner and found this...

'JUBILEE LINE: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, suspended between Stanmore and West Hampstead. Two rail replacement bus services operate.'

Looks like there is a lot of work going on in London that weekend so those going from Stanmore maybe need to think again.

Managed to get train tickets from Sheffield for 13 quid each way so decided to do this, having the day in London then making my way across to Selhurst from Victoria at about half 1. Going to be a long day but this is my awkward one sorted, should have every Championship ground done by the end of the season!

6 of us going down on the train at 9.30am and back on 7.40pm train, thinking of having a drink around Victoria as this is where the train down to Palace leaves from. Anyone know what its like for a beer near the ground (Norwood Jnc looks closest station)

I'd stay away form the ground area if I were you, it's a right old shithole. My advice is to grab a pint in the concourse if you're there early.
