Today's Ref
« on February 13, 2010, 05:43:05 pm by MrFrost »
Worst ever? Not helped by a clueless linesman. Some of the throw in and corner decisions were disgusting. Is it possible they could get so many wrong?

Not being biased either. Forest should have had a clear cut penalty in the first half.

Good result and great performance, and glad these numpty officials didn't spoil it ultimately for us.

He has to be in the top 5 worst ever.

Definate pen for them, that corner he gave them was unbelievable in the first half, he really was just total shite for both teams.

There three throw ins on the West Stand side which a blind man could have given. How we gave them to Forest I will never know. One they very nearly scored from.

I cant remember seeing a worse refereeing performance, i don't think he could have got more decisions wrong if he tried.

Great performance generally though and cracking three points against a good side.

worst i can remember seeing. He lost control from early on. Think the players handled him very well. Although dissappointed in Chambers silly yellow. There wasn't any need to race half way through the pitch to create after that awful challenge when players closest to it didn't even create a fuss.

There IS a blind man (or partially sighted maybe) sits just in front of me and HE was up complaining as the decisions were just SHIT

IMO the worst Ref ever - and I even wanted to stay behind and slag him even though we won. The man was a complete PLANK and the lino on the dugout side was a knob head too

In the Bog at Half time they announced the Half Time draw as picked by the Referee is - and I said a Blue Ticket because although there are only Red and White ones in there I was sure than stupid - blind - useless cnut would fcuk THAT UP as well

Lets hope the Referees assessor was watching

He did lose control of the game and I agree it was a definite penalty for Forest in the first half.  Some of those decisions were laughable, particularly the throw in that obviously came off Blackstock.  The ironic chears every time they got one right were funny though.

Whilst he did get a lot of decisions wrong, he was far from the worst we have seen. At least he wasn't biased in favour of either team and shared the poor decisions.

I couldn't believe the appointment when I saw it. Local derby featuring the third in the Championship? That game called for one of the three or four best refs in the country. Instead we got Mr Penn, who might be OK handling a low key game, but found that one well in advance of his capabilities.

Funnily enough, Forest suffered worse from the decisions. When Wilson chopped down Gunter I was waiting for the whistle, the penalty and just wondering what colour the card would be. The sending off was never a red. Yes, McCleary went in with both feet off the ground, but he made no contact with anything other than the ball. A yellow for dangerous play at most. I think he was influenced by the fracas that followed- which itself was a consequence of having a weak referee in charge of the game.

Don't get me started on the lino on the bench side. The worst performance I've seen from a so-called qualified official in over 40 years of watching football.

It was a great game, played by two teams who were 100% committed. Seldom have I been more proud of a Rovers team. A shame the FA couldn't have shown some \"Respect\" by sending officials who were fit for the occasion.

My eyes are not great but it looked like Stocky went totally over the ball and caught one of their strikers, think it was Adebola in the first half.

Was that as bad as I thought it looked?

The worse display of refereeing was Andy Hall at Crystal Palace away last season.

Penn is not a great a ref, which showed today. However he was not helped by a lino on the mainstand who did not have a clue. It makes you wonder what the \"communication kits\" are used for.

As for RESPECT, Forest should find themselves with a charge coming for the way they surrounding the referee at half-time and when the lad got sent off.

I was just thinking (after witnessing the poor display from the officials today) that we actually get half decent officials more often than not nowadays. In years gone by in the conference / Div 3 etc... Belle Vue used to erupt in abolute fury at clueless officials on a very regular basis. It always seemed to be the case that the ref/lino's got booed off with real venemous hate at half/full time in those days. It's not half as bad these days, but today wasn't a good display from those in charge.
