They still haven't learnt.

I've been to Hillsborough around 4 times before but forgot just how bad it was!

Arrived at the ground yesterday around 7:15, which was early for us! This was at the same time as all the coaches pulled up so there were a fair number going through the turnstiles and could be regarded as 'peak time'.

Once on the concourse though it was absolute hell. I don't know how many the Leppings Lane End is capable of holding, but i bet we didn't even half fill it.

Wanted to put a cheeky bet on, go to the loo and have a pie, all fairly standard stuff which usually takes 10 minutes at the Keepmoat, I didn't get to my seat until 2 minutes before kick off.

At the bottom of the gangway (X) it was absolutely heaving, all supporters having to show their tickets again, and then at the top of the gangway to be shown where our seats were. Those gangways are surely a health hazard and are barely wide enough for two people.

Why didn't they leave it as unreserved knowing we hadn't come close to selling out, and get people to a seat a.s.a.p?

Disgrace, World Class venue for 2018? You're having a laugh!

Agree 100%.  I got so fed up with queueing at gangway W while some doddery old bloke checked tickets I just pushed past him and made my own way there.  I do have a basic grasp that the WU on my ticket means W gangway Upper tier, and row 13 means I'm on row 13 and seat 530 meant I was in seat 530.

Did anyone struggle with that concept, or is this just what they have to do for thick wednesday fans.  Maybe they need stewards in the bogs too to wipe their ar$es?

You imagine if we'd filled it! There would have been hell on. I wouldn't like to be in there if the Blades are in town.

Some (all?) of the stewards in the away end were on-hire from Darlington FC.  The guy at the top of Gangway Z was spot on.  His words to me were \"You're seat's down there.  Sorry they've given you a sh*t one, but if you wait till just before kick off so you can see what seats are taken then you can move to the back.  Don't worry no-one will bother you as long as you aren't sitting in someone elses seat.\"

Having made the mistake of using the toilets/concourse last season I gave it a miss this time.  The Leppings Lane end should have been pulled down twenty years ago and a proper stand built in it's place, instead of just bodging it to meet regulations.  It's why Hillsborough is no longer considered for big games anymore.  Times have moved on, the death trap in S6 hasn't.

I was there quite early and the concourses were quiet - I had gangway X on my ticket, but went go up gangway W and just walk across seen as there weren't many people about, and there was no way on earth that the steward would let me... It was all rather pathetic, and like people have said, dangerous once most Rovers fans were in.

I was at X as well...it was ridiculous. We got in about 15-20 minutes before kick-off and it was just a total farce. Some poor bloke even tried to come back through the concourse as this squash job was taking place. Fair play to him he managed it, but the whole set-up was a disgrace. We're all already through the turnstiles, so whats the point? Trust that people are smart enough to be able to find their own seat, one way or another.

It makes me laugh how clubs think that we have forgotten the concept of consecutive numbers, and need to be shown where a numbered row and a numbered seat are located. Not to mention the fact that every row number is stencilled on the floor of each row in bright yellow paint!

From experience, this numpty went to the wrong seat at the Southend play off game at the Keepmoat, despite having the same seat since the Keepmoat opened, I was fuming when this bloke came up and demanded I move from his seat, I said I don`t think so mate, I`m a season ticket holder, this has been my seat since day 1. Anyway after about 10 minutes arguing I pointed out that seat R593 was even stamped on my season ticket! he said you need to be on the row behind then, this is P593! I felt a right plonker and mumbled an apology and made my retreat  :)
