Chester City
« on February 22, 2010, 06:36:17 am by Dr Fundlekrotch »
As a co-owner of Ebbsfleet, I've just had to make a difficult decision on whether to expel Chester City from the Conference. On Wednesday, the club's members' majority view will be put forward as Ebbsfleet's official decision and I think that the Conference vote takes place on Thursday.  So far, the Fleet members are overwhelmingly in favour of expelling Chester and that is the recommendation of the Conference who have them suspended at the moment.

Tough decision - I never like to see that happen to a club, not even one like Chester, and it is one more home game that the Fleet's season ticket holders will now be robbed of.  We haven't won many either this season and that's 3 hard-earned points down the swanee.  However, the Chester fans are actually calling for the club to be put out of its misery so that they can get on with planning for next season, which is remarkably pragmatic and unemotional for football supporters.

My guess is that, as of Thursday, Chester City will be no more.

Did I hear right that Chester City are due to be bought out though? If this is the case wouldn't this change the situtation altogether for you?

Shame to see this happen to them. We've all had cracking memories of the Semi Finals.

the chester supporters should be heard.
the club must be voted out to eradicate the poison that is in the boardroom.
the position of your own club in this is not your concern , in fact luton town gain massively from chester's expulsion.

as you probably know doncaster rovers had a similiar situation twelve years ago although they completed their season with pub players and the like.then see what can happen.

chester city will reform with local business support , albeit three leagues lower , and with the support of the council [ which they have ] will progress.

best wishes to ebbsfleet btw. we , at doncaster rovers , are also fully aware of how your club survives with the direct input of true supporters.
