Believe me i've seen the pitch at BV look shite too. I remember it being more like a swamp more suited to mud wrestling then a football pitch in the late 80's

Modern technology eh.   We should have just kept it to grass only, OBV was a fantastic pitch and suited us better as a playing side.

Gotta feel for the groundsmen though, while ever egg chasers play at Keepmoat and the weather is as bad as it has been. It will be same year in year out.

A few hundred tons of good quality topsoil then turf would be the answer in the summer. Then ban the bloody egg chasers, pop concerts and any other activities apart from football on it. Maybe then we'll have a decent playing surface. Oh yes, and keep the plastic bits out of it.

Give Andy the groundsman a chance.

The weather has been the problem with shovelling off the snow, covers on and off from frost etc.

After the pitch was refurbished there seemed to be a healthy growth of natural grass on it and it was just about back to its best, but after the snow, it's gone back to being as bald as a coot again.

With the grass being so short and bare, it appears like playing on concrete. 3G pitches are better quality at the moment.

I'd lov it if they could recreate the recipe for the pitch a Belle Vue, and go back to a natural surface.

Swansea - where Ospreys play their home matches like. And they have been playing all winter unlike Dons who have just started. So whatever the problem is it is not down to a rugby team

At least our field isn't like Stockport's, I don't think I've seen a football field ever resemble a football field less than Edgeley Park does. Oddly I had a dream that I went there to watch a game last night, hopefully that's not a premonition of the future!

The pitch isn't great but like was said, it lasted way longer than it did last year and bear in mind the horrific weather we've had this winter.

The hardness of the pitch, the number of players getting groin injuries/hernia problems and the awful bounce are more of a concern than the colour of the pitch and what other events are held there.

Old popsider   IT`S NOT YOUR PITCH TO BAN THE DONS from playing on it.Believe me most DONS fans would rather be playing back at TATTERSFIELD but until I win the Lottery and am able to buy back our old ground we will have to put up sharing.

May as well be though.  Just look at the differences in rent, we pay over a million, I'd be surprised if the Dons could afford a tenner.  Less than 300 at the Dons game yesterday, that must be awful in that stadium, it's bad enough with 8500 in it on low crowds for us, let alone 300.

Can't blame the Dons playing rugby on the pitch, when did they last actually play rugby  ;)
