Greeny
« on March 13, 2010, 08:02:30 pm by danrover82 »
Never fails to impress me the way he plays the game. Great respect shown to him before and after the game by the fans and in return from Greeny coming to the fans and clapping.

Hope he sees the light one day, as I am sure the door will always be open.

Totally agree mate. He had a very good game today, had a couple of good chances aswell and was solid in the middle - unlike mr vidal \"Robbie Savage\" sassoon.

Showed us supporters some respect before and after the match aswell, which a couple of players who have left recently didn't do. Hope he does well at Derby and maybe, just maybe, we'll have him back when we're in the Premiership  ;)

I like the lad, was sad to see him go, but i cringed at the Greeny chants from our own fans, he chose to leave, rightly or wrongly he aint a Donny player anymore, far from it.

I'd have him back in a flash, but until then hes just another player playing for the opposition.

I think the chants were more the fact he was with us all the way for ten loyal years.  Everybody likes to think the Grass is always greener, and it probably is compared to our pitch ;-) but like you say I would have him back in a flash.

I think it was more down to SOD not showing his hand and faith in Green too early.

Always seems preoccupied to me and maybe when he plays cos his heart elsewhere his execution is no where near good enough

To be fair, I thought he was a shadow of the player that we had 2 years ago.  His box to box energy just didnt seem to be there, and as a result Derby never stretched our defence in the first half by having the extra man popping up.

Even in the last 15 mins when Derby did find a bit of pressure he only got into good positions on their right twice, and both times he checked out for a simple pass rather than taking the last man on.  Confidence could be an issue.  I mean, playing for the Rams would sap the will to live out of anybody.

Mind, I'd like Rob Hulse in our attack next to Billy!!!!

Talking of cringeworthy chants, 'Sully sully whats the score' in the middle of the game is getting a bit tedious.

Think you'll find that he was invited to leave, he spoke on Radio Sheffield after he'd signed for Derby and stated that if he'd been offered a contract in January he'd have signed it!

This club is still his first love and its a pity that Paul Green didn't mean to Doncaster Rovers what Doncaster Rovers meant to Paul Green!

Think you will find Sheffield Wednesday is his first love. John Ryan said (at the VSC AGM) that he never thought Paul would leave and it could have been handled better.

I think it's time to cut him free, it's time we gave him both barrels (metaphorically  sp)

Checkout his facebook page! Incidently, wasn't it John Ryan that came out with the Doncaster Rovers made Paul Green, Paul Green didn't make Doncaster Rovers quote, which at the time was totally out of order for a lad who had contributed so much to the cause!

I checked out a Q & A page in a Rovers programme, he was very young when he said it, but his ambition was to play for Sheffield Wednesday in the Premiership, maybe he eventually saw the light.

PS try to avoid Facebook, everybody wants me to help out on Farmville!
