If you think thats Grumpy, you should try sitting next to my old man on a matchday! ;)

I don't think the penalty was dubious at all. You can't tug at someones shirt in the area and expect to get away with it, especially when it ends in you hauling them to the ground.

And I don't think he can have any complaints anyway. Derby were truly awful - the worst side I have seen us play this season, and I think had we taken our chances, we could've been home and dry before they managed to grab a goal back.

And what would he have said if the 2nd penalty was given? How the Ref said he got the ball is beyond me. The lino could even see that he took Copps and not the ball but he also bottled it.

To be fair, I thought the guy did get the ball for the Copps one. Not a penalty for me.

An unbelievably poor decision.  I can't blame the linesman, as the referee had a perfect view and chose to believe that the defender played the ball.  As he indicated immediately with a circular hand movement it left the linesman in an impossible position because even if he thought it was a penalty (along with everyone else in the ground) he couldn't put his flag up and go against the referee.

He looked very sheepish as he ran back to the dug outs to be berated by SOD & ROC.  The ref did him (as well as us) no favours.

Looking at it philosophically now, we won the game anyway and we also got away with a \"cast iron\" penalty against Forest a few weeks ago.

Sat right in line and he clearly took the man...........

so either: -

1) your eyes are painted on  :woohoo:

or

2) you were asleep  :P

we all see it differently but I honestly thought he took the man...

I thought he got the ball, but I do sit in the South-East corner, and my eye sight isn't 100%.
(What do they say do too much of makes you go blind?   )

There weren't many appeals from the home support at the time either I didn't think?

We'll have to agree to disagree. From the South Stand it looked like the player got a toe on the ball.

Awfully sorry for disagreeing with your opinion, o' wise one.

Had a laugh when Clough gave the side of the dugout a Glasgow kiss.

Maybe he just wanted a nose like his old man had?

The 2nd pen decision he clearly won the ball 1st so can't see why sum Rovers fans were moaning about it being a pen

Derby County manager Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby:

\"We were beaten today by a dubious penalty and what can only be described as a wonder goal.

\"I can't remember David Martin having too much to do

Dubious penalty?  His eyes must be painted on!

Wonder goal, ok i`ll give him that but it only cancels out the wonder goal that knocked us out of the cup

Neil Sullivan didn`t earn his productivity bonus either!

From my position behind the dugouts it looked like their player was almost a foot behind the ball. Copps seemed to play it then get taken out immediately. It looked a penalty to me, but then I was in a similar position to SOD so we must have thought we saw the same thing!
