Bring the headline up bigger and bolder.

Bring the size of the club badges down. Plymouth Argyle aren't a big draw give the name Doncaster Rovers larger billing.

I'd lose the Coca Cola branding to be on the safe side.

Done. (see previous post)

Forget about Coca Cola. If they want to slap my wrist I'm more than happy to apologise.

Now River Don, over to you.

I expect you to post in detail later today, the great lengths you have gone to, to distribute the flyer.

Deal?

That's better mate.

I'll do all I can Snod but I don't think it's going to attract very much interest in the Wimbledon area...

Sorry fella, I'd completely missed this thread.  Superb respponses, and I think a flyer drop could work.

A chap at work is organising a CAMRA event, and he got 2500 flyers printed in Germany for about £40.  The quality is superb, and the same number done locally was quoted at around £120.  I'll have a chat with the club and Gareth about the viability of doing something like this (obviously the Plymouth game is short notice so how about for the Scunny game? - Ernie, any chance of knocking something up on the same likes as the one above?).

I'm sure the VSC could stump up the funds to get the flyers printed, so it would only require the army of voluntees to knock a hundred or so through doors each in their neighbourhoods.

Over to you lot to volunteer, guys!

I still keep an eye on 606 but boy there's some on there really wind me up, (and that's only the Rovers fans)

Can't get your link to work, any suggestions?

I've posted on there under a couple of different names, changed it to KeepmoatClaxon recently when the beeb altered the application and had us all recreate our accounts.

Don't post much on there any more, find it gets a bit unseemly between posters for my liking.

Knocking on doors is a way to do it, but can be onerous. Also, hours may be spent and you may only reach 100 or so people

Target areas that are more People orientated where you can hit 100 or so in one go ie where many sit or stand about and look for things to get their attention:

Doctors, Dentists, School gates, School classroom doors, libraries, shops, supermarkets, buses with permission, bus stops????(might be illegal) etc etc etc

Right, I've spoken with Gareth about this, and we are doing it.  I've got the printing costs and the VSC are happy to fund 2,500 flyers.

SnodsShinpad : Can you do a new one to promote the WBA and Scunny games please.  Delivery times are too tight for the Plymouth game.

Everyone else : Can you please let me know if you are able to deliver a share of these to addresses in your neighbourhood.  If we get 25 people, it will be 100 each to deliver, 50 people means 50 each, etc.  If it brings another 50 fans through the turnstiles, thats around a grand to the club.  Please say \"aye\" below if you can help with the delivery, even if its only a handful.

Lets prove that fan power can make a difference.

Yes, absolutely. I'll send you a PM about it sometime later today/tonight when I have a bit more time.

It would be good if we could have say a reference number offer on the flyer entitling the person to claim say a 10% discount (or something) when they buy the ticket, so then we could see exactly how many people have bought a ticket as a result of the flyer. I know that would be a headache sorting with the club and ticket office and would maybe impossible to organise though. Maybe there are other ways of doing it?

I've suggested a fiver discount with the flyer, but I dont think it will happen.  Demand for the last 2 home games will be reasonably high already.

Keep up the awesome work everyone! I'd be happy to hand out in my local area, although I feel the majority of Grimethorpe residents can't read, and the remainder probably support the Dingles anyway

It's such a shame nothing seems to ever get organised this well by our fabulous media department at the club...

Snod, I don't know if you're used to the business of setting stuff up for professional print but if you're not it'll be worth asking them to send a specification to work to. For instance it's better if you're images are large, ideally 300 dpi.

If you need any advice PM me.

I'll happily do my share too. Cusworth, Scawsby and Sprotborough, altho' I know there's a few of us based in my neck of the words. If we hit Cusworth en masse, i'll do top end near the Hall - Kempton Road, St Giles etc.

Rob - can you pm me the print prices you've got? I have a print franchise so should be able to beat most prices

snods - don't wanna tell you how to suck eggs but set your document up with a 5 mm bleed and 3 mm text inset and you should be fine.

I can do a bit around Balby.

I know a newsagent who will be happy to get one of his paperboys to put them through doors as well.

I would love to see a giant 'Sexy Football' poster, pasted to the side of the KM 'Get your 2010/11 season ticket now'

Irrespective of the potential attendance for the last 2 home games, why not offer a discount anyway !? First come first served !!

Thanks to all who have volunteered so far.  Need a few more to come out of the woodwork, especially for the north east and south of the Borough.

Well seeing as i started this topic, its a little hypacritical of me not to volunteer, so although i live in Sheff now send me a load and i will go around Hatfield when i'm next home.  I'll go to the newsagents and the local pubs as well as going around the estates.

I'm over the moon with the positive reaction from the majority of everyone though and hope that this truly is the beginning of a new approach by ourselves and the club.  there are some people on here who have said that this won't work and yes they may be right, however:

1) if we don't try we'll never know
2) this is just the beginning, i have no doubt that there are many other people out there who have many valid ideas such as this which canbe put into action.  it is only when every one comes together like this that things start to happen.  with the support of people like rob, nathan and gartom as well of course.
3) if the club realise that this is a viable option, they will then take it on and carry it through from now on with ourselves as volunteers and hopefully we'll all reap the benefits with a better support base

Not sure alot of you know me but i live in sheff and see alot of what the weeds and blunts do.  the most recent one that has come to mind is a massive advertisement hoarding up alongside the trainstaion by the blunts advertising themselves.  this is seen by thousands of people every day, either in the city, visiting or travelling through how simple and even easier would that be for rovers?

just another idea anyway

I'll send you my details in an e-mail to you Rob for you to send the flyers out

Finally thanks to those who have come together to support this idea and the vsc for making it happen and i look forward to seeing this work (hopefully) and other ideas and supporters come out of the woodwork with how they think we can show Ryan and the directors that our club is unique in the way we supporters get behined them in this way and that were moving onwards and upwards together

Just to bring things up to date, SnodsShinpad has rejigged the design and its now off to the printers.  Should be back midweek next week, so 10 days or so to distribute before the Scunny game.

More volunteers required.  Add you names below if you can spare an hour in your local area.

Bump.

Looks like we had under 9000 home fans there today.

If you can spare the time to hand out flyers, let us know...

Not a problem.

Anything to drum up some support.

I do some committee work at a Pub/ Club in Bentley + our lass has an Avon job/ round and I have some good contacts in Shops/ Newsagents in Bentley so there is good scope here.

Just let me know how I get hold of said fliers and I'll get them out around here.
