JET 2
« on March 21, 2010, 04:51:13 pm by Branton Rover »
Can I remind so called supporters that JET is a 19 yr old kid starting out in his career & we are lucky to have him.  He's played Saturday Tuesday, Saturday Tuesday in a very competitive Championship side I'm guessing but the intensity of these games will be many times more physical than his usual Gunners reserve team outings.

For Christ sake support the lad he's had a cracking start to his time with us let's not spoil it with unwarranted negativity after-all we now have a relationship with possibly this seasons Prem winners.  Wake up smell the coffee you morons, OK Jay didn't have his greatest game yesterday but it was a high intensity Derby type atmosphere like which he's never been involved with before I'm guessing.  Get off the lads back he's only 19 how many of us have performed brilliantly in their work at such a young age, not many grow up

People like to see commitment fella. The lad is a great talent, no one is questioning that. I just think such a young talent should have more energy to be honest, which he didnt show. If the intesity of the league is too much let him sit Tuesday out.

Calling people morons for wanting to see commitment out of all in a Rovers shirt is unjust.

Before people have a go at me, I am not having a go at the kid either. He is very exciting to watch on the ball. I just hope SOD gets him playing with some urgency, He could have quite easily have changed the game with just a little more effort at times.

Here bloody here! I only hope he doesn't read this or he will be off after his month, and more importantly might damage our chances of tapping Arsene for some more of the same in years to come.

Some idiot on the other thread called RedRockets who has hardly posted on here said JET has never had a good game for us. I had to put him right, he obviously is an amchair fan who just goes to \"big\" matches and has only seen him once (yesterday) and made his judgement on that, because he couldnt have been at Ashton Gate where JET ran the show and was even applauded off the pitch by the brizzle fans.

Sorry came across as Billy Big b*llocks yesterday, not chasing anything down, FFS he is 19 should be fit as hell.
You can forgive such deficiencies as positioning and awareness, hence that why he is with us but I for one have never witness such a lazy performance!
Was the lad unwell?

JET didn't have his best game yesterday and certainly looked more tired than previous appearances. But we still missed him when he went off. He'd been holding things up nicely up front and our game had to change when he came off.

He's probably played more football in the last 3 weeks than he'd played in the previous 3 months. I can't imagine the intensity and rapidity of the games is something he's used to.

He's a young lad. He's a fantastic prospect. He's scored goals for us. He's had games where the opposition fans have applauded him off the field.

Most importantly (potentially), if we treat him well and he develops, it could be the start of a valuable relationship with Arsenal.

He'll do for me!

An armchair fan that goes to matchs? Nice of them to give the Rovers the custom, I say. Especially the big games.

Anyone who was at the game has a right to voice their opinion on any player mate, whether its based on yesterdays performance or not. It doesn't make them any less of a supporter going to 1 game or 23+ cup games and we wonder why people stay away?

I agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion but do you really think than some who goes to every game and someone who goes to 1 game can be classed as having the same support for DRFC?
A supporter is someone who watches their team.
Someone who goes to one game a year is more of a follower than a supporter.

I agree with people having a go at him because these last two games he has been awful, just looks so uninterested. But I have to agree with this thread as well we've seen the talent he is/will be come from performances against Bristol and Derby. The things he's done in them two games at the age of 19 is remarkable.

I go to everygame, I have family who have been to a handful of games this season and not had the priviledge of seeing JET (through personal circumstances. However they went to everygame in the dark days and before that. Are they a lesser supporter than me? NO are Exiles lesser Supporters? NO and they certainly are not armchair supporters.

A supporter is someone who follows DRFC in what ever capacity. DRFC think the same about you buying tickets for everygame as they do about John Smith buying just one. Its money into the club helping the rise.  No one is a better or worse supporter than anyone, if they put money to the club in any capacity from ticket to HT draw, they are more than entitled to view their concerns whether we agree or not.

Its their opinion based on what they have seen. It doesnt make them a lesser supporter, moron or idiot though does it? I think the kids amazing, even better with more energy so I agree that people should lay off to a certain degree, but he is a professional on the big bucks and should be able to take the criticism, no?

JET did not have good game yesterday but he is not yet the finished article and is learning his trade. Cannot remember the same people who have critised him for being lazy saying the same thing about Copps on some games this season when he has not appeared to put a full shift in for the team. Sean said he has come here to improve his all round play has a midfielder thats what he is doing. He has been playing off Billy in the games he has played, he was not there yesterday. So on to Tuesday night and Sean has decisions to make.Does he play JET or Hayter  a long side Billy. There is only room for one with Oster, Woods, Wilson and Copps in the other postions.

I also wish Shackell or Ward were available because Shelton look far from the same player on Saturday.

It's not that Dan, it's the fact that the plank told me to take my specs off and that JET has not played well for us once yet that pissed me off and got my back up. If people want to give opinions they should say what they base them on and talk spew utter crap like he did because it's obvious he can't back up his opinion with facts.

Skellow Rover...making your self look a bit of an a*se really in \"my opinion\", if \"my opinion\" counts
This is a forum made up of many members, some like me dont post very often and read what people have to say and people like you who turn up to the odd game and constantly over-post with reels of crap, slagging other fans off instead of inept performances such as JETs Yesterday and Tuesday etc etc etc.

You should concentrate on turning up to matches, watching the games (with your specs on) and finally realise that Wilson is class and that JET maybe skillful but is a damn lazy player.
We're  better off with a player like Shiels who is as skillful as JET but is more of a team player and will run his socks off for 90+ minutes.

I appreciate that and its makes a bit more sense now you added the bit about what he said regarding the specs etc, but its just difference of opinions.

I think Armchair Supporter is over used in this forum TBH. Like I said above that I have family member who hasn't been able to get this season, but I dont consider them any less of a supporter than me, you, the guy that posts next or JR. If you know what I'm saying.

My opinions can be backed up by a simple viewing of yesterdays and Tuesdays performances by JET...\"simples\"

Why don't you concentrate on making more of a noice at a game to get the fans noice up instead of talking nonsence on here?
and same goes to all of \"us\"...lets pick up the atmosphere at the Keepmoat and make it as if the whole 8000-12000 are at an away game!

Well maybe you should engage your brain and stop having a go at other supportes that have seen him play every match instead of spouting b*llocks about players that isn't true then sunshine. How many times have you seen JET play for us? i bet its once more then likely based on you saying he has never had a good game for us, and that was probably Saturday.

What a prat you are, his overall performance at bristol was superb.

What's an imbred? did you mean inbred but you got too excited to type properly because you thought you we're funny?

And do you fancy running your mouth off to my face on Tuesday night sunshine? or are you just a keyboard warrior?

Peter Kitchen looked absolutely hopeless in his first season in the first team. Really, really hopeless. He missed open goal after open goal. Brian Deane looked worse. Now, they both put in the effort, but they were utter bobbins. JET doesn't put in the effort, but when he does get the ball, he's cracking. Folk are different. That's why they are human beings. In either case, the point is that they are/were all beginners. Whilst noting their shortcomings is fine - that's what managers do after all, slagging them off is worse than pointless: it's destructive and it betrays the complete lack of ability to think in those doing the slagging. Let me give you just one example:

'JET is an idle tosser. He's inept'.

That's one way of describing his performance. Another way would be to say:

'It's almost impossible to get JET off the ball when he has it, but his work rate does need significant improvement'.

That's another way. And in the second way you recognise the strength as well as the weakness whilst being constructive rather than destructive about it.

Too many folk think with their emotions rather than their brains. Do schools not exist any more?

Cheers

BobG

Go check the record books and see how many 19 year olds win the Olympuc Marathon.

Stamina develops with age. It's one of the reasons that you don't get many teenage boxing champions either.

19 year olds playing 2 high-tempo matches a week are very likely to drop off the pace.

It seems that despite O'Driscoll more cerebral approach to football, there are still plenty on here who want nothing other than 90 minutes of sweat and toil.

True Bob. I can't be doing with the way some \"supporters\" berate our players at times when they should be supporting them no matter what. The booing of lewis over the last few weeks has been appaling, we all know he has his faults but he needs encouraging not booing. Imagine beeing in his boots and you hear the boo's from your own supporters as you come onto the field, it must be soul destroying for the poor fella.
