JR at Little Theatre
« on April 01, 2010, 11:28:58 pm by Al4475 »
Many thanks to those of you who joined us tonight - a great night enjoyed by all. JR smoked, the Q+A went well, nice to get a stretch of questions for him myself too, food - decent, champagne - nearly gone, many satisfied people,  all in all a super night!
Cheers
Al

Enjoyed the show Alan. JR was excellent and handled the limelight with ease. I genuinely thought that I was the only person deluded enough to believe that Barcelona the other night were just like watching Rovers......Now I know I'm not alone!
A good nights entertainment at a good price, with half the funds going to the Rover's juniors. Not forgetting a four quid discount on JR's new book, signed by him en'all!
Good questions asked and answered, just one I wished I'd have asked, Which club does JR dislike the most? ( ;) ).
Thanks again Alan, and well done mate!

Can anybody list what questions were asked and the answers JR gave for those that couldn't be there? I heard he was clearing things up for fans like an increased budget for next season with a larger transfer fund and who's paying Billys wages this season etc.

JR said that Sharp is on 10 grand a week, and Rovers are paying every penny of it.
Sharp loves playing for us, and should Sheff’ Utd wish to sell him we would throw our hat in. He went on to say that their valuation of  £1.5m was too high for a player in the last year of his contract, and no one would  pay that amount.
JR  also said that the average gate of 11,000 (9000 home fans) was disappointing, and that we could not compete in the transfer market financially against the likes of West Brom  (for instance), should both sides be after a player’s signature.
He went on to say that a couple of thousand extra home fans would mean that they would be able to buy two or three £1m pound players instead of  spending that amount on keeping the club in a stable financial situation.

Interesting that, considering I've been told by a member of the Blades back room staff that Billy is on £12k a week and we're paying a quarter of it. I wonder who's trying to pillock who? If we are indeed shelling out £10k a week I'd be very surprised indeed.

If I can, once the theatre's DVD is produced i'll relay everything on here. also, DRFC videoed it too and they're gonna put the whole thing on RoversPlayer.
