Crystal Palace

Just been on SSN that Palace could go out of existence in the summer, as they don't have enough money to pay all wages all summer. Does that mean that the Wendies may stay up by default should they get beaten in the last game?

not a clue how it would work to be honest, whats to say they would keep wednesday up and not promote another club from league 1 instead? or just run a 23 team league for a year. who knows.

Whatever the result on Sunday the Wendies will not go down. Palace will not exist next season, probably emerging as AFC Crystal Palace in the Ryman Div 1 South. As it stands Palace have no ground for next season and no money to employ players/staff. Clubs who do not own thier own grounds run a severe risk

No championship London club will ever go out of existence. Its the lower league clubs that owe 2k that need to worry.

Every danger of them going out of business and disappearing.

Their financial situation is dire to say the least, and the administrator has told the powers that be at the club that they have a deadline in May to meet. If they can't sort something out by the deadline then it's goodbye Crystal Palace Football Club, out of existence completely.

It seems they have been struggling for quite some time but it's only now that the details are becoming public knowledge.

Bet a lot of Brighton and Charlton fans are enjoying this at the moment. But they've both been through the dirt so I suspect they'll rally round in the end if this does get serious.

Dont forget the Millwall fans, Bob.  I bet they have tears in their eyes (of laughter).

Someone will buy a London club. I hope in the long run though that drastic actions are took to stop this. Where there's a will, there's a way.

We are lucky to have three directors pumping in the cash otherwise we would be a fair few Million in the red too

DJ Kid Jensen was on TV the other day as the spokesman for a consortium who are hovering around. No doubt waiting for the last minute to get the best deal.

I used to hope Gary Davies would deck him on Top of the Pops one week.

Isn't he the look-a-like of that former owner of Palace - Jordan whatever his name was? :woohoo: (Or was it QPR)

When Simon Jordan bought Palace he really didn't realise what he had done, a good while ago now but it virtually bankrupted him. I lived in Thornton Heath (just round the corner) at the time and believe me he was very lucky (and so were Palace tbh)

I think Jensen could probably have chinned Davies. Mike Read was apparently pretty handy too in his heyday, but of course the king of the backstage bare knuckle brawls was Sir James Saville. Apparently he decked Chegwin over an argument about whose bitch Peter Powell was.
