Brett Pittman

Noted reading the Free Press this morning that he's interested in him.  He looks a good striker based on the highlights clips I've seen and Sean will have worked with him a little at Bournemouth.

Interested to note we want a defender, midfielder and striker this summer, plus replacements for those who go.

£250,000 is the amount needed for Pittman according to the FP. If we can't get Sharp then I feel that would be a good deal.

A big lad who is good with the ball at his feet. Also he is a young lad still. Definatly someone we should have a bid for.

I bet he'll prefer either Bentley or Armthorpe.

Shackell,Gillett and Sharpe would be my Guess at SOD's first choice with Rovers Hard pushing to try and get the Cost of Shacks down a bit.The talk of another 6 months loan for Shacks might at first look seem a bit disappointing to fans but could be a shrewd move because not only do we get for another 6 months but the shorter his contract with Wolves becomes the lower his value is.

I think Norwich's promotion will put them firmly in the driving seat as far as Shack is concerned.  The only way we can compete against teams in this division is reminding players how to enjoy football and that is purely down to SOD.

We need Sharp and 1 other, if we're to keep squad numbers up. Don't forget, we've effectively lost 3 strikers:

Heffs
Guy
Sharp

And we're left with 3:

Brooker - yet to prove he can get fit and stay fit.
Fairhurst - only played a bit-part, so far.
Hayter - plays more in midfield than up front.

Not quite correct Al, Hayter and Fairhurst are out of contract so are effectively open to offers and could go which leaves us with a one man strikeforce of erm..........Brooker. We had six strikers when we came up so I'd expect us to have at least four by the start of the season leaving room for any loans as and when required?

I agree, we need AT LEAST two more strikers. If money would permit it I'd love to see us sign Sharp and Pitman, then get a cheaper option for someone else maybe if monet allows again. Maybe Rooney from Inverness.

Pitman would be an excellent addition, good striker with Bournemouth and able to play, therefore, with a footballing team, the more the merrier!;)

I'm sorry but Pitman isn't the answer, he hasn't got any of the traits you lot are talking about, looks like a good finisher but does not do any work off the ball, no height, strength or pace. Just not championship material for me

Well SoD likes the lad and if he does come i will support him. the lad is still young and if his transfer fee isnt huge and wages are reasonable could be a shrewed bit of business.

There is a big difference, guy was already here and was doing okay in league 1. Pitman would be a signing of his own, and ive when ive seen pitman play he has been a good also the lad is only 22, still has alot of time to learn and improve.

Yes, just like Guy then

I dont normally take an opinion over 1 game, but to say there was 3 scouts there watching him he cant be seen to do nothing for an entire 90 minutes and expect a deal elsewhere at the end of it.

Just out of curiosity, what did you like about him when you saw him play?

Apart from him scoring 2 decent goals, also liked how he held the ball up and his ability to win the ball in the air. First touch was questioned once or twice but was decent. I no he lacked pace but he isnt that type of player.
