The news from SOD was that we had a bid accepted for Shackell but couldn't match the wages offered by Barnsley!! :(

Or worse, the news I have just heard.  Shackell only went to Barnsley because Billy Sharp will be a dingle very soon.  Just finalising a deal now.

Hope this is not true. I have had a quick look on the internet and cannot find anything to back this up.  Time will tell I guess.

If thats true...and we cant even compete with Barnsley in this division, a team who finished below us, then we are on a hiding to nothing next season.

Seriously worried.  :(   :(

We can't compete with Scunny let along the Dingles. They spent a hell of a lot more than we did last season.

I dont agree with all the Duke says, but I do wonder why we seem to be second all the time, Will S/T sales get the blame?

PG Tips is BOGOF at Tesco, if the price of petrol comes down by around 10p litre we may send some one down to Tesco to stock up, but again we have to work within our budget  ;)

Whats its got to do with where they finished last season if they are in the same division this coming year? There's bigger clubs with bigger stadiums, crowds and much more established in the Championship than Rovers that finished below us for example Derby, Barnsley, Ipswich, Coventry, QPR, Watford. Do you really think competing is to do with where you finished in the League, we finished above Derby so we should be able to compete with them...even though they get nearly 30k every game...

I've got a feeling it will be to do with Oster. For me he was prime renewal so here's to hoping.

Or for the pessimists Steve Coppell makes him his first signing at Bristol City after working together at Reading

Hardly earth-shattering news. Not one going to get thousands flocking to renew

However it's a body to a lightweight squad and he can come in and do a no frills job when required.
