Donny Whites??
« on May 22, 2010, 12:05:52 pm by sha66y »
i am aware that there must be loads of Leeds Supporters living in Doncaster, but .....how did they get here and what do they want???
i drove through a village the other day on my way to the dentist (13.45hrs)...

and saw about 4 Leeds shirted , rather dishevelled looking beings, i was taken aback initially at the state of them, and wondered why were they not at work?,do they work?,are they capable of having a wash and brush up?

when i see Rovers attired individuals ,out and about, they and me always seem quite \"chipper\" and happy, yet these 4 i saw looked like they were ready to raid Netto`s, booze aisle ......again!

i have nothing personal against \"\"Donny Whites\" i am just curious as to where they come from and what are they doing here???

if you see the lesser spotted Donny white, and wish to move them on ....i think a \"bar of Soap ,a tooth brush, and a job offer, should move them on swiftly.....

if they are going to live amongst us pure fans, they should at least make a bloody effort  :P

Thing is they are all appearing again in there off white shirts as they are Champions of Europe again oops I mean came second in league one.

See plenty of them round Morrisons Scawsby and always have a little smile to myself as they pass by -there seems to be quite a flock of them round there?

The present day Donny white`s are direct descendants of the 1970`s Donny white`s, the 1970`s Donny whites decided to follow a team that they thought would wipe the floor with everyone before them, and the fact that their home town team were in the old Division 4, it was n`t cool to be a Donny fan, so off they went seeking glory elsewhere, hence the term \"glory hunter\". These glory hunters started to believe the propaganda that calender and Look North (Leeds) spouted about how the Leeds side of that day were the greatest team ever, as it transpired the \"great\" Leeds Utd basically won f**k all! barring a couple of league titles and a couple of FA cups. What Leeds were actually great at was being the Bridesmaids, hence another well known phrase \"close but no cigar\" contrary to popular belief Leeds never actually won the European Cup even though they regard themselves, to this day, the Champions of Europe. The brainwashing that the Yorkshire region`s TV stations started in the 1970`s continues to this day from Father to Son, that`s where they came from  :)

cheers for that!

i will add \"PITY\" to any future references i may make towards these Doncaster \"interlopers\"

nah then wheres that Netto Booze Aisle ?

on a lighter note, my old man said to me about 3-4 years ago that my son should be ambitious and try and get a trial for Leeds Utd , as he was showing great promise, (this was before that dreaded Wembley\" showdown),

i never fail to remind him that :the GREAT Leeds of yester-year are now a mid to lower league team that fail to impress both on and off the field........halcion days,...halcion days  B)

Donny Owls I can just about live with as I appreciate people may have moved here etc.

But as for Mexborough, Donny, Worksop whites

I walked in to HMV in town the other and there were Leeds mugs, scraves, books all around the till. I wouldn't mind IF I was in Leeds, but I was 40 miles away!

Would you find Liverpool gear in HMV Manchester? I don't see why it should be any different!

No. Liverpool and Man Utd are actually decent teams who are in the Premier League, Leeds finished 2nd in League One, so why should a town which has a better team in it start selling a club 40 miles aways mugs? Why don't HMV start selling Exeter's mugs aswell?
I don't mind seeing the big 4's shirts in shops round town because you get that in any town or city but why are we selling a League One teams stuff when we don't even sell our own stuff in these places.

to Donnywhitegaz!!

you rearly should change your Forum name,

you are leedswhitegaz, you are from Leeds, you have never woke up with the pure viking blood running through your veins,

your children are ok to be called son of Leedswhitegaz, but you sir have not earned the right to have \"Donny\" in your name!

when the boundaries are set and the day of reckoning comes, those who refuse to take up the \"Viking Hoops\" will be cast asunder....

what a beautiful day for a magners....... ;)

Lets use this tired and never to be resolved debate to examine something nearer to my heart.

I suggest that it is wrong for anyone over 18 to wear a modern replica kit, regardless of team, especially away from the game.

Come on, do these types ever look at themselves in a mirror before they go out.  And their partners obviously are taking the p*** by letting them do so.

Yes, there's pride about demonstrating support for your club, but that doesn't excuse pure, unadulterated naffness.

It is all about what you take out of a \"game\"....

Too me its everything but mostly cos its identity it is where I was born!

I enjoy everything about this wonderful place ...market, town centre and indeed the countryside, I live near Cusworth park and the views are breathtaking!

To me come 5 O'Clock on a active season and we have won means I have a massive smile on my face and means the world!

So i say ...if your going to support a team give careful consideration between supporting a team the Keepmoat and one that played at Belle Vue a few years ago lol!!

Not all Leeds Utd’s fans are undesirable football followers, but most undesirable football followers are Leeds Utd fans, round these parts anyway.
Since the days of Leeds city fc, and their consequent eviction from the league for financial irregularities, it seems that the club has developed a tradition of employing unsavoury characters, as well as attracting ghastly fans. Even the ‘great Leeds side’ of the 60/70’s wasn't without controversy, the style of play adopted by Bremner, Collins, Giles, Hunter, Charlton, and co provided more than its fair share of  unscrupulous style tactics  than can be accurately described as borderline cheating. Even manager Don Revie  fell from grace for walking out of the England  job for the lure of  Middle East wealth, and there were stories of match officials and rivals being offered envelopes of money to swing games during his time at Leeds.
Despite this, Leeds fans were having none of it and their paranoia continued to develop as if they were the victims especially after many cup final defeats and the controversial European cup final loss.
The chip on the shoulder remains to this day. Once again Bridesmaids as league one runners up…..Probably after being cheated by Norwich!
More recently Pappa Smurf has continued the tradition and Leeds fans seem to revel in the general public’s dislike of him, probably because that is in common with the general public’s dislike of them.
If  Pappa Smurf had intended to change the situation the last thing he would have done would have been to give DENNIS WISE (ffs) the managers job.
When you witness the arrogance of their Chairman, their top scorer and many of their fans it’s clear that they belong there.

I met a refugee who had come to UK because he felt it would offer him freedom and the chance to work to better himself. I asked whether he ever regretted leaving his homeland and he said he loved his country but loved UK for having given him the chance to be proud. I asked if there was something he hated about the land he had adopted .. he replied \"Yes the people  here who say bad things about my homeland but who have never achieved anything themselves!
I have lived in Barcelona and Milan but am proud to love and support my home town team because I am strong myself and  do not need to wear a Barça or AC Milan shirt to make people think I am important.

Spot on great post. I'm the same lived in edinburgh belfast and monchengladbach all the time have worn my rovers colours, watched teams whilst being there feel a certain degree of affection for Hibs Glentoran and Borrusia, but nothing compared to the Rovers. The only problem comes that our shirt looks alot like bayern munich, who are very unpopular in MG so can get some of the wrong attention till they notice the viking.

Christ Almighty! What a totally pathetic thread. Whether you like any particular football club, or don't, is up to you. But supporters of such clubs are, oddly, human beings. Just like you. Me. All of us. A lot of folk on here keep on bleating about 'everyone has the right to post what he/she wants' - so why this sudden abandonment of principle when the odd Leeds supporters hows up? None of 'em hurt anyone. None of 'em  damage anything. If they post shite - so what? It's not hard to move on to the next thread is it? If they post something constructive, or thoughtful, or informative, then I for one am damn glad for it. Insularity is the mother, and the father, of losing grip on reality, of in breeding, of arrogance. We seem to have all three. In Spades.

Bob, you need to see someone - Wiltshire seems to be getting to you - relax!

I'm happy for any new threads that are away from Rumours and Sharp (who, lest we forget) is NOT a DRFC employee.

Strangely though I am not a fan of replica clothes away from the game and yesterday morning in Sandall Park cafe I saw a young woman cuddling a baby boy of less than a year old - it was wearing an \"Owls\" babygrow. The child's father then came back from the counter in his trainers, white Adidas trousers & white with blue trim SWFC top.

Now, if that poor little bugger is a Doncaster child can you imagine the life that awaits him as he grows up into the Doncaster School system?

Of course you can, because in Doncaster schools, until a few years ago, DRFC fans were ridiculed by the children whose parents had been persuaded to purchase shirts from MU, Liverpool, Chelski, Arsenal, Spurs and even Leeds because of the childish way football \"supporters\" become tribal.

fcuk me - it's just a bloody game .... and no, it ISN'T more important than that!

Bob, I think I love you..:) As always you are the passionate voice of reason.  It isn't a heinous crime to support another club, (it might be a severe lack of judgement in some clubs cases  ;) ) But it is hardly a hanging offence..

Thing is come August you will see our posters trying their damndest to get onto that W forum you all know and loathe, I can't see the difference personally..

As for abusing poor Donnywhitegaz, he seems like a nice chap so why the bile towards him? he can't help that severe lack of footballing judgement I mentioned after all..lol.

I feel the same fella, Leeds this, Leeds that.

Some people on here rant on so much about them, it bores me and thats why I only look on every now and again.

Honestly, some Donny fans need to get a grip and realise us & Leeds have nothing in common, we are not rivals. Whether we're away at Elland Road or Prenton Park, just another team/game for me.

Your tongues are so far up Leeds's areses you can taste the christmas pud from 3 years ago.
