Out of interest, when McDaid said 'Alright thanks', did he say it in a way that implied that we were close to signing Billy Sharp?

Interestingly. There were a few classic signs that Sean exhibited that made me add 2 and 2 together on a number of issues concerning DRFC.

1. His speed of movement. I dipped him a furrowed brow (as in, any news mucker on Billy?), IMO his walk was fast......some would say he was looking SHARP to get to his motor. FACT Billy will sign.

2. His position. I let out a little sniffle (as in, are we getting a left back in?), he immediately moved to the left of his partner when leaving the shop......in the classic 'you're getting a new left back mate' movement.

3. His taking of the high ground. I tried the classic 'pulling at the left ear lobe' aka any sign of a centre half matey?. I got this clear message. At the pull of the lobe, Sean was on the pavement and his partner on the road, giving him a significant height advantage. Everyone knows this has been used in many a military exercise to signify a taller man is coming or needed.

4 A show of strength and balance. I juggled my right plum with a couple of lazy flicks of the fingers outside my jeans, or as all players know 'what's the score with a grafting, nasty, footballing central midfielder coming?' Sean displayed a perfect balance by carrying a box under each arm, rather than both on top of each other and him hurting his back. By having each box under each arm, gave him a look of a carpet carrier and a look of strength and portrayed power. In Nam, this was a common sign that a strong leader is coming.

Like I said, I'm not one to get peoples hopes up. I usually wait til we've signed a pen and then later a player, before making comment. But I know that from 6-8 seconds interaction with Sean we will be getting Billy, a left back, a centre half and battler in midfield. I'm sure everyone will now see the logic in this.

Cussy there are still as yet unanswered questions..........was it a trilby, fedora, fez or baseball?

Honestly people these days only give you half a story! Talking of which I saw Sean at the tip once.....hatless.

Player: Brian Stock
Date: Tuesday 29th June
Time: approx 11.30am
Location: Matalan, Wheatley Hall Rd.
Actions: Shopping with wife and youngest.
Interaction: No. It was a player spot by Mrs CR and eldest CR. Mrs CR and eldest CR bottled it to say something and just constantly stared at him.
Suggestions: I suspect he had been dragged out shopping to the cheap shop and initially he didn't want to go. Why? Because he had one huge shiner of a black eye!!! hmmmmmmmm, interesting Mr Bond.
