Away from all this transfer business, a business model we can use, maybe not to the same extent, but a more realistic longer term view.

Excellent read. It's how it says though.......Eye Ox cannot compete against the money clubs, and now they simply nurture talent purely with a view of selling them on for millions.

But if all those who graduated from De Toekomst suddenly returned home and didn't care for the big money, then I would suggest Eye Ox would seriously take some beating.

Scary really. But I have to confess, the style of fotball they have produced for all these years still takes my breath away. Actually, I'm sitting here now wondering if I can remember the names of all the players in that never to be forgotten Dutch side of the 70's. Earth shatteringly good they were. I've never forgotten them: they made that big an impression on me. And I guess that, fundamentally, it all came out of Ajax.

Cheers

PPS I'm exceedingly glad to report that the most highly prized of all those stupid Match Attak card thingies in my lad Alexanders' collection is Johan Cruyff! Yea. I showed him some footage of the real thing on YouTube a few weeks back. It still sent shivers up my spine. I think it must have done the same for Alex.

Cheers

I remember Johnny Rep, Wim van Hanagem and Dirk Naninga.

PS Bob, has your Alex got any of those Match Attax swaps. My lads driving me mad every time I go in Tesco, he's down to the last 30 or so for the full set.

He's got bloody hundreds! And like you, I have to fork out every single time I go to Tesco too. I@M sure he has plenty - though I really haven't got a clue what.

Good spots on the Dutch team by the way. Remember all those players now you've reminded me. So that's 10 of 'em we've got, or 11 if I am right about Kaiser. Jonny Rep was a good player wasn't he?!

Cheers

Yep, right winger if I recall. I also recall Robbie Rensenbrink playing up front and I think the keeper was Jan van Beveren. Manager was Rinus Michaels if I remember correctly.
If Alex wants to sort some swaps with my lad Liam Bob, get in touch. Sooner theyve finished the collection, cheaper it'll be for us lol.

A good idea. I will. Alex is now collecting both the English league ones and the newer FIFA World Cup things. Is your lad into both?

Oh yes unfortunately. Match Attax, Match Attax Extra and Match Attax World Cup. I'll get Liam to draw me up a list of his wants and i'll PM you Bob if you want to get Alex to do the same. They can check their swaps then.

Copy me into this boys please. My lad is also down to his last 20 odd. It's doing my head in too. Looking on the internet to knock off the last batch, but they are still too dear as so popular. Are you aware you can buy them off the Match Attax Site? We finished his last set off for Premier League via the internet, best £5.90 I ever spent.

Unfortunately he has chucked all the Prem players away (now that he's completed it, and there must have been 500, I kid you not).

When he comes home from school I will get him to list his swaps, and again he has given up loads to his mates that need them, and also publish his needs.

Thank You

No problem Cussy, I'll PM you same list. I might even open up a new thread about it, after all the Panini at the bike sheds worked pretty well ;-)
