Ok, well done to the KM2 Dick & Terry but...
« on July 09, 2010, 09:12:16 am by Premier_Rover »
...come on, Terry Bramall sold Keepmoat for £563 million...which makes him worth well over £563 million!
And he has to be pushed into laying out a portion of £1.15 million for a player? The way I see it is he should be on the board if he is gonna be that tight with so much money. Its the equivilent of us having £200 and not spending £2 on something, I mean come on!

I know somebody who knows Terry & Dick well though, and he says they actually said they are waiting for DMBC to give them the stadium before they push more funds into the club, which does sound about right...

Why don't the council gift Rovers the stadium? They are losing an absolute bucket through it, and Rovers struggle to pay the rent, so if they make a big fuss in the papers etc and gift the club the stadium then the council remove a nuse and Rovers get their on stadium with the board more willing to put more funds in, thus taking us even further forward!  :woohoo:

Do some research. The quoted price for the sale of Keepmoat is wrong. The quote that DRFC struggle to pay rent is wrong. The council will never give the ground to DRFC, its a community stadium, for DRFC . Belles, Dons, and any other user who can afford it. Plus the council would be hung drawn and quartered if they even thought of \"Gifting\" the stadium. 11 million WOULD buy it, eight million MIGHT buy it. But never a \"Gift\".

Hmm. I always find it interesting when people on here complain about the board not spending enough, but I guarantee there will be a good reason why this poster doesn't have a season ticket, hasn't joined the VSC etc etc. Its always other people who should spend more on their hobby right?

Blimey

We have just spent our highest transfer fee on one player and you moan about how much two of our directors put in??

It's not of your business what Dick and Terry do with their money or how they spend it.  I am very grateful that they contribute at all to keep our club a steadily run ship along with sir John.  Without them how would we cover the £3 million shortfall each season.

I often dream about winning the lottery and helping the club out but the majority of us do our best by buying match tickets, shirts, programmes etc etc

I am speechles,There are clubs up and down this country who are busting with debt after directors put high interest repayments on money LENT to the club. Those clubs forums are discussing how lucky we are to have the directors who will GIVE us the money and they are right. You cant have supported this club for long else you would be eternally gratefull to ALL our directors for what they have done in turning this club around.
I suggest you read JR's book to find out before making idiotic statements like that...

What a complete plonker.

Talk about unfounded rubbish.

I'm pleased that so many have jumped to put him/her straight on this, at least it shows the support that the owners/directors of DRFC do have.

All too often people will complain on a forum but not show support when they're content or better.

It's not just us with tight board members either. According to Wikipedia Abramovich is worth over 12 billion yet has only spent a paltry 600 million on Chelsea.

And that's not including the money he's made on selling players. Get your chequebook out you tight Russian bas**rd.

There are some people on this forum that just have no reality of the real world at all!! Seriously, oh it must me Dick and Terry's fault that there is a mad man running around northumberland with a gun because they sold their business for £800million they must be able to spend some of their money to stop him!!, or it must be JR's fault that the government we have are wanting to make half the country unemployed because he has a lot of money in the bank.

Get a grip man, this is one of the greatest weeks in Doncaster Rovers history, we have actually got a £1 million player in our ranks, possibly the best striker in this league, there are lots of talks of us loaning players from premier league teams and we have just produced a shirt from a big name manufacturer.

We have got the best chairman, board and management in the country, after this week more then most get behind them or feck rite off!!

Give the lad a chance not the best post, and i for one are Very grateful to the km2 and john many thanks, but what are the council doing owning a loss making stadium. Why not sell it to the rovers for a small amount and walk away this will help the rovers and also stop the council making a loss.

fair enough he might have a doncaster postcode but have a total dislike for anything football.

i have a pint of milk in me fridge, but it dont mean there is  a cow in me back garden.

Good to see this thread shot down.

Think a bit about unsustainable growth.  It's why a lot of people can't get on the housing ladder these days, it's why the banks went bust and you're footing the bill and it's why Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Preston, Hull, Cardiff and Southend have had massive financial problems.

Think also of the consequence of financial control of the club being taken away from JR.

Now ask.....is that REALLY what we want?

on second thoughts maybe the chap is a rovers fan so i take that back.

but on the ground issue, people are saying that council cant seel ground back to drfc due to fact KMS is a community stadium

fair point i guess, but is it within the guidelines if rovers were to buy the KMS that it was still run as a community stadium but by drfc?

or is that a non starter
