Today a offer of 100 000 + Bradley Orr has been rejected for martin woods from bristol city.

The reports linking him with preston in this close season are nothing concrete and they have not enquired this summer.

Trust me.

Didnt we rate Woods at £1m when we turned Preston down in January, definately dont rate Bradley Orr that much. Now throw in Nicky Maynard and we might do some business....

If we were to cash in on any of our better players, it'd probably be Woodsy for me, but £100k is an insult!!

Throw in a couple of cans of that Natch or whatever they drink down there and I'll drop him off myself!

Seriously though, I think a swap for Campbell Ryce / Danny Haynes would be fair, don't you?

Why do people rate Woods so much? He's not that good. Nor is he that good at acting in porno movies.

Shiels > Woods imo.

Woods was our best player before he got injured I thought.

Shiels really needs to do something this year or he could be out the door come the end of the season.

Woods can go but if it's gonna be in a player-swap deal then it needs to be for a left midfielder I reckon. I don't know if anyone really fits the bill at Bristol City.

100k + a player is not enough either, it is insulting for a player of Woods quality. That said I certainly don't mind him leaving so long as we get a good replacement for him.

Interesting.

I'm in the crew that would agree with Woods leaving if it enhanced another position.

Bradley Orr is a very good full back and Brizzle turned down an offer from QPR reported to be £500k.

Had it been a centre back then I think we may have been in business.

Jimmy for centre back anyone?

They say that two eyes are better than one, but I agree with Adam that Shiels is better with one eye.

I think we need to see a bit more of Woods, Last season he had added responsibility with the absence of Stock. He stepped up to the plate, took on the captaincy and tried to lead from the front.

I think this affected his game as at times he seemed to try too hard. He put pressure on himself and I can think of a few rash tackles, the penalty miss etc.

There is no question about his work rate and passion but I would like to see him back in that midfield with Stock and Oster so that he can just play his own game without that extra pressure.

Let's not forget, he was probably the most improved player when we stepped up to the championship and, there aren't many quality left footers around. He even started to use his right foot (goal at Palace).

So for me, let's keep one of our crown jewels for a bit longer.

Agreed.

He has to be one of the most underrated players at the club.

The only reason for letting Woods go is if he wanted to go, then you cash in. While ever he can do a job for us ( and SOD definitely thinks he can) he stays. I don't think he will not be going to PNE.

In some ways i disagree i thought when he got the captaincy he started being a bit lazy and not playing as well.
I believe that he has definatley got potential and wouldnt like to lose him. i think itll do him good with stock coming back into the picture in order for him to go up a gear and battle for his place. only thing i can say about him is that i think he doesnt score enough goals.

but 100k and orr... i think they were being cheeky with that!

i think that woods felt a bit of pressure with the captians arm band on and was trying too hard wanting to be involded with everything
