Normally you have impeccable taste Dunc but I can't agree about this shirt. Who's idea was it to have light blue?! It's just not Rovers. What was wrong with a nice green one?

I would LOVE a green away kit, preferably with a little bit of yellow mixed in.

But at least the sky blue is different to the bland all black, all white kits that teams have for their second kit.

Really didnt like the blue and white hooped for obvious reasons.

They're all lovely Viva.  Big fan of green as not that many teams have it in their kits.

Would have loved something like this

But hey ho, the fans dont get a say at all regarding kits.  Still the blue one isnt that bad

I really like the new away shirt, would look better in navy blue than sky blue in my opinion, but I still like it. Does seem a bit odd that they have just invented a new away colour for us when we have had no real history of it in the past though!

We had a sky blue away kit in the 1970's.

I'd like something similar to our first ever strip, for the away kit this year: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Doncaster_Rovers/Doncaster_Rovers.htm

Boca Juniors new home kit looks very smart: http://www.footballshirtculture.com/10/11-kits/boca-juniors-2010-nike-105th-anniversary-shirt.html

Some of you have very short memories - we had a blue away kit in the early conference years. viking Leisurewear sponsored by Beazer Homes.

You really can't please some people, i bet if we'd gone with something like that then people would have moaned that they didn't like it and they wanted something similar to Yorks away kit.

fickle fickle fickle fickle fickle springs to mind

its nothing to do with being fickle, its to do with everybody having different tastes/preferences.

personally i loved the blue and white hoops, and the green and white NSPCC hoops (but only that particular green)....the new sky blue is growing on me slowly.

See I can't stand green and white hoops.  I liked the blue and white hoops we've had for the last few years.  The light blue is ok though.

Godlike1 may be wrong in his use of the word fickle, but he is right in that you clearly can't please everyone.

My take on the light blue away strip is that the kit itself is nice, but it doesn't seem right seeing Rovers play in that colour. It made no sense when we wore it in the midst of the Conference years, and it makes even less now.

I've always understood green to be our away colour, and it looked great in the old pics from Workington adn Hereford uploaded in the past weeks.

The problem is that with away colours we've swung from green, to white, to blue, to black, to blue and white hoops and now to light blue. Most clubs seem to be consistant in their approach to away kits, we haven't been, and so now there is this split on what everyone perceives our 'traditional' away colour to be, depending on their age/how long they have been watching Rovers.

But it looked like QPRs/Reading.  Didn't really understand why the away kit had white hoops just like the home kit

I've a hunch that the light blue may be for Mrs Ryan, i'm sure ive read somewhere that she's a big City fan and that they were JR's 2nd team.
To be fair, if it is the reason i couldn't give a monkeys, if he wanted us in pink and yellow stripes i couldn't argue after what he's done for the club.

If anyone wants to watch a team play in EXACTLY the above kit, then you need to come and watch Sprotbrough Crusaders U8s every sunday. Thats the kit we chose for them.

Now that is awesome. That to me is part of Rovers colours and I can't believe we haven't been in green for years. Didn't the shield on the Viking badge used to have red, white and green on it?
