It might be because the blunts are creating so much room because they are so much better than us.
A bit like when we played Rossington.

They’re only a division above us, the gap shouldn’t be anything like the same as when we play Rosso.

That said I never read too much into friendlies so hopefully doesn’t mean a lot!

To be fair we have done well to keep it down to four.

It was a friendly, we had half a team available, it was pretty shit. Not much more to add really.

Well that was far worse than I hoped for. We were pretty poor overall. Yes, I’ve watched Rovers long enough to realise pre season games mean nothing but there looks to be vast room for improvement in even the contracted players.

Currently I'd have Cameron John in over Tom Anderson for our first league game.

Yeah, he looks to be suffering from a hangover from his latter half of last seasons performances.

Come on lads, we have to be realistic here.
Sheff Utd were streets ahead of us in quality.

Yes they are/were but it’s our lack of cohesion in possession that worries me.

I’m not saying the keeper was Weaver’s mate or anything like that, but he didn’t have the look of a pro footballer either? Nice footwork to dummy their striker though.

Didn't mean much that game. Weaknesses are obvious, defensive midfield was the problem. We passed it fairly well at times. It's a pretty new squad so work to do.

Been a few years where we've looked dreadful like tonight in pre season and come out firing on the first game of the season.

Very disjointed. I felt like we still need a mester in the midfield to get a grip of the game and hunt players down.
Didn't see much of the high press that Wellens wants. Some players looked like they were put for a gentle jog tonight, Bogle and then Tiago.

I like the look of Ro-Sean Williams though, good signing that.

Defo need an experienced goalkeeper though. Jones' positioning was terrible tonight.

Jones keeps us in numerous games at the end of last season, has a couple of poor friendlies and now he's the worst keeper some people have ever seen.

Hard to make head nor tail out of that with far from our probable starting xI in either half.

First time I've seen us so was a while to get to know who's who.

Positives which there were few. Matt Smith looked good and in a midfield with better players around him will do well. Not quite sure about Reed. A poor man's Simon Gillet maybe?

I thought Hiwula looked reasonably lively without threatening too much.

Thought the Watford lad looked decent when he came on and so did Charlie Seaman who for me did better than Knoyle.

Williams looked OK at centre half.

Best moment of the night was the sub keepers Copps chop with virtually his first touch when looked like he was in trouble.

Won't be jumping to any conclusions after seeing that tonight except work in progress.

I never said that mate. It's the first time I've seen Jones play.

An experienced keeper wouldn't have played the ball across his goal to his centre back who had a striker bearing down on him.
He could have dinked one over to the left side of midfield or dropped a shoulder and played the left back in.

Goal keeping coach may have his work cut out, but it’s early doors and he might be leaving his crap at the door….

Some people on here are a joke,
After the Newcastle game everybody was raving about some of the players and how good we look.
One game later and it’s a disaster honestly need to get a grip.

Steve did though.

We may be able to count on one hand the amount of times Jones has played in front of a crowd, so he might need to adapt to those conditions.
