Wives eh?
Told you about Mrs T's short fuse.
I was the bees knees with her after solving the jigsaw fridge freezer problem t'other day. As I always am when doing something that pleases her.
Wait for it I said to missen.

So last night she's ironing her white jeans when she comes waving the iron at me, with a face like thunder, shouting and bawling that I'd left some black stuff ont baseplate and it had marked her jeans. Useless tw*t that I am

F**k me the last thing I ironed was HER dark pant things.
Told her to Never call me a good lad again as its empty words etc.
So now it's a stand off silent period.

I am banned from :-
1) Ironing. Following an incident where she too found 'burnt stuff' on the bottom of the iron. Maybe it's some airborn fungus thing? Certainly it can't be linked to me ironing a pair of shorts that I thought were cotton, but the iron disproved that theory conclusively.
There was another incident where I just needed to iron a t shirt and decided to use the carpet instead of the ironing board. A steep learning curve there.
2) Using the washing machine after an incident where along with washing powder, I, for some unknown reason, added a few squirts of washing up liquid. The machine was still foaming up days later.
3) Pegging washing out on the line. I do it 'wrong' apparently.
I can't say this unjust blanket ban concerns me too much.

When we moved into our house , old lad next door on seeing me peg washing out offered the sage advice " do it wrong kid, she'll not ask again " Mrs TFE is still however 24 yrs on blissfully unaware of a right or wrong way

Today's lesson in Wordleising brilliance

STARE... A frequent starter for me, which today proved absolutely useless
0-0

COUGH...Thought I'd try two more vowels and skilfully got the G in the right place.
2-0
FOGGY...Couldnt see much else fitting, other than PODGY and dint think it'd be that.

So my supersized intellect triumphed again.

Today's solution
TONIC 0-2
OUTER 0-3
ABOUT 3-0
Then had an aha moment remembering Wolfies advice about double letters. So surely its...
STOUT... no its not 3-0
So it must be...

FLOUT.

List of previous Wordle answers if anyone is interested. I’m guessing they won’t repeat the same word twice.

That's how it goes I suppose. Depends on start word I suppose and the choices , hunches after that

Some will get it quicker than others like a Rubics Cube. Only one solution but thousands of ways to get there

I really enjoy it but I need to be "ready" at silly AM .... best time for my online banking etc as well.

Should start doing my Super6 then as well - oh I do !

Woke up for a wee at 3.45am, then spent 2 hours listening to the rain hammering down, Mrs Mug snoring and the t**t next door coming home from work in his noisy van whilst bellowing into his mobile phone to his mate about how hard it was raining.
Last chance saloon 6. Still 2 options after I’d got it.

Another reason I was awake is because just before lights out, Mrs Mug asked me ‘What’s the name of those little silver boxes that Victorian toffs used to fill with scent and sniff when they came up against bad smells’?
I know this word. I’ve seen enough flipping Bargain Hunts, Flog the chuffer, and leather faced Dickinson programmes to become an expert on them.
Could I remember it? Not a chance. I drifted off to sleep going through the alphabet, using mental skills honed on hundreds of Wordle puzzles.
Then just after midnight I awoke with a start and the name was in my head. Amazing, the brain can actually work stuff out whilst you’re asleep!
I decided against awakening the slumbering, substantial beauty beside me and giving her the answer as I like my nose just as it is.
About 7.30 she stirred and I said ‘I remembered the word’.
‘What is it’ she asked.
Time for my brain to shine and..... nothing. Nada. Gone.
Tried to remember whilst she made a cuppa but no.
Had to Google it and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the word that came to me fleetingly in the night.
Not sure if this suggests my brain is still working or on the way out.
‘Vinagrette’ was the word btw
