I reckon that if we play like we have been recently the 3 points are ours for the taking!
:scarf: :scarf:
-
Just having a cuppa before leaving Bradford to catch the bus at thebKeepmoat.
Being as it's RLFC final today I'm sure that anybody that sees me in my shirt over here will think that I'm a Wigan fan off to Wembley. ;0)
-
Expecting a close tight game charlton wont want to lose so will sit back and defend then hit us on the counter. Think theo will be marked out of the game so will be up to the midfield to work the ball and maybe this may sound crazy but they may have to shoot, instead of walking it into the net
Saying that going for a 1-1 with charlton hanging on in the last 15 mins
-
Just hope they can keep up the intensity from the last 2 games. We must keep pressing to force opposition on to the back foot. We are far stronger defensively when we are on the front foot.
I see a similar pattern to the Wigan game, going in front and then holding on late in the game. If we take our chances, could be 3-1.
-
Team unchanged from Wigan.
-
Chalton favourites at the bookies for some reason, might be worth a few quid on us.
-
I reckon that if we play like we have been recently the 3 points are ours for the taking!
:scarf: :scarf:
I am actually nervous for the players!
-
Anyone got player working? I can here the background on the Charlton stream, nothing on the Donny one.

Nope! Me neither

Tumbleweed at the moment.

Doncaster Rovers FC @drfc_official 3m
We appologise for the sound quality of the commentary of today's game however due to no ISDN at the Valley we are broadcasting via mobile.
Doncaster Rovers FC @drfc_official 1m
Once again we appologise for the disruption in service which is out of our hands. This is a one off and will not happen again.
-
Seem to have heard these things before lol
-
Just come on, sound quality is shite
-
I'm sorry but that quality in unacceptable, going to listen to charlton.
-
It's not their fault, but it's going to be difficult to listen. In fact very difficult to hear what he's saying.
-
Charlton commentary now gone off ffs
-
Rovers commentary keeps cutting off
-
Charlton commentary now gone off ffs
I'll be listening to the Charlton commentary as well if it doesn't keep dropping out.
-
So does Charlton's. Might be less stressful listening via text!!!
-
Yep, Charlton sound quality is better, drops off though, but I'm not expecting much from this woman "the referee looks at his whistle before blowing..."
-

Tinpot Charlton without proper internet facilities
Tinpot Millwall who's kitman forgot the kit as they visited Wendies today (they are playing in the Wendy away kit)
Let them all TLO us Tinpot  :boxing:
-
From the Charlton Commentary it sounds like we`re all over them!
From the Rovers Commentary it sound like there at the bottom of the sea

2-0. Robinson.
Please don't abandon it now !!!!
-
Brown?
-
YES - Brown or Theo?
-
Come on now lads, let's put them to the sword.
-
Now Charlton commentator is saying Brown. See the problem. Similar looking guys :headbang:
-
Said Brown on SSN. Sounds as if parts of the pitch are waterlogged. Don't postpone now!
-
This tart on the Charlton commentary keeps switching between Browny and Theo for the second scorer
-
Theo puts in cross for both goals (although Sky think he was offside)
Bit of a worry that the ball is stopping dead in the puddles in parts of the pitch.....
-
Confirmed Brown. Come on Theo, pull your finger out !!
-
3-0 dreamland!
-
Oh my days. Corner. 3-0 Brown faced it in.
-
Bloody hell!
-
yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssss. come on! Brown
-
We're taking the piss.
-
I'm in dreamland. Has it stopped raining down there anyone know? Is there any chance of it being stopped?
-
You just know this is going to get abandoned!
-
Referee going to stop it.
-
I think the Rovers fans need to get on the pitch at half time with forks !!!
-
Referee going to stop it.
Oh no!!
-
Poxy gits

-
I don't believe this. pissed pissed right F in off
-

-
That is feckin shite shite shite... suspended not abandonned
-
f**king joke
-
b*llocks!!! f**king ref is a Charlton fan!
-
You can bet your ass, Charlton ground staff do bugger all to get it back on again.
-
Should award us the win if they cant drain a bit of water
-
Just suspended... TFFT.
Crossing fingers that they can resume play... :crying:
-
You can bet your ass, Charlton ground staff do bugger all to get it back on again.
Exactly, there is not a chance of this getting played.
We've been robbed.
-
f**ks sake
-
Should get all rovers fans in to clear it off
-
Yup, already signs that they're not even trying... B'stds.
-
Charlton now got the sprinklers on
-
I was thinking much the same about the sprinklers, Bristol...
-
Is it still raining?
-
If common sense prevails, they will wait as long as necessary. Who's got a rule book???
-
Absolute disgracefull decision by the Ref! If he had doubts about the playing surface he should never have kicked off.
-
Pitch inspection in half an hour and Charlton not doing much to clear the pitch!
-
Let me guess. Charlton having their worst performance in years perhaps?
-
Sunny periods forecast for 4pm on BBC weather
-
You can hardly blame them, a bit of gamesmanship and all that.
However, and I am saying this entirely because of the scoreline, there should be some way of policing this sort of thing.
-
Had a look at Charlton weather and its forcast light rain from now on
-
Anyway. Let's just drool over the first 28 mins. This team has got real potency in front of goal and if we can score more than we concede then staying in the top 10 (or play-offs) is not out of the question.
-
It's a f**king disgrace is what it is.
-
It could be a game of three halves !!!
-
Feel like weve lost :(
-
cant beleive this feel sorry for guys and girls who have travelled
-
I've got the Challenge cup final on. They don't look to be strugging there.
-
Is it off then or what?
-
Rovers back out according to DFP on Twitter
-
What happens if the game get called off? Does it count as a draw?
-
Play suspended. Waiting for a pitch inspection in about 20 mins.
-
No it would be replayed
-
Match replayed from scratch
-
Rover players helping to fork the pitch !!!!
-
Tha's right DBR, of course. I'm entering every game thinking that - at the very least - the lads will give it their all. Win, lose or draw - I'm remaining positive/quietly confident.
Rovers doing their bit to get the pitch ready. NO f**kING WAY.
-
What happens if the game get called off? Does it count as a draw?
No got play for 75 mins
-
Rovers back out according to DFP on Twitter
No sign of the Charlton team or the match officials though, Theo has got himself a fork, the rest of the team have got brushes to help clear the pitch
-
I like how all the other matches in London are taking place without a problem. Fuming. :headbang:
-
That's amazing. Proper proud.
-
Rovers players on the pitch with forks and brushes helping ground staff. Pitch inspection coming up. Rain still falling but has thinned out.
-
I'm sorry, but we've obviously been robbed by an over zealous referee.
This reminds me of Billy Sharp getting injured against Brighton. Absolutely sickening and could seriously affect our season.

Don't speak too soon mate.
-
new theo song . hes got a pitch fork in his hand hes got a pitch fork in his hand
-
The Charlton players and staff are being totally unsportsman like about this. Everyone knows the weather can change quickly and they should be doing everything reasonably to get it on again or waiting until conditions improve.
-
Dozy cow for Charlton commentary is saying that the pitch wasn't the same for both sides! Poor Charlton keeper has more mud to deal with apparently! We're WINNING IN THE RAIN!
-
Can you believe Sky have just said the groundsmen have done a great job.
-

The thing is now if it`s stopped raining and they`re playing now no more water will fall on the pitch, Charlton crowd doing their best to get this abandoned
-

It is pissing it down
-
This is not going to finish, the Charlton players are trying everything to make things look dangerous
-
What minute does it need to get to for score to stand?
-
Charlton players not playing.
-
What minute does it need to get to for score to stand?
75?
-
Lets get to half time so they can have another 15 mins to sort the pitch out
-
I'm not sure they're going to finish this. Charlton commentary team noting every problem with the water- They say its still raining
-
I will be astounded if this game is completed today
-
Definitely going to be abandoned this
-
It'll get to half time and then get abandoned. :(
-
Is the ref a homer, we`ll soon find out
-
I hope we can get to half time and we get no more rain. Be interesting to see how much work is done on the pitch at the break.
-
Shut up you dozy cow.
-
How long until half time?
-
She is awful.
-
I can't listen to the stupid bitch
-
Might be wise to give them a goal !!
-
3-1
-
3:1 - in a way that could be a good thing
-
Daft as it sounds I wouldn't mind Charlton scoring to give them hope so they stop with the pressure on the ref. Oh they just have
-

Boom!!!!!
-
Right on cue. Let's see what happens now.
-
Jesus... 3-1 that was painful, just listening to that silly bint scream!
-
Yup, give 'em some hope and they might quit their moaning.
-
Theo Goal offside.
-
Theo just had one disallowed
-
I read that there is a difference between abandonned and terminated - we are in the terminated category. I read if it gets to the second half being kicked off result stands. But also its up to a committee to decide according to Football League rules
-
Doncaster united.
-
Liam Hoden @liamhodenDFP 45s
Charlton fans now strangely more positive about this game continuing #cafc 1 #drfc 3
Surprise surprise.
-
lets not throw it all away now though, we know how we never make it easy
I could cope with being 2-0 up against Wigan and ending up with a draw but i'll be gutted if that happens today even if the weather is attrocious.
that said 3-1 up before halftime is a credit to the lads, come on you redssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!! :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:
-
Are we playing with the tide second half?
-
I think the Charlton players changed to flippers when they were off.
-
Come on ref, blow !!!!
-
Need to come out second half keep score same then on 70 mins kick on get brown his hattrick
-
Shit!! you can see how this is going ffs!!!
-
Keegan Sent off
-
Oh Great. keagan off. Don't Fcuk it up now
-
We know whats going to happen now.
-
Oh my god. Keegan sent off. Stupid idiot.
-
Keegan sent off!
-
Oh dear me. Unbelievable.
-
Can you believe Sky have just said the groundsmen have done a great job.
Probably think our players are the groundstaff in the blue kit.
-
Anyone there? Was it a red?
-
Anyone there? Was it a red?
I'm not there and it wasn't red. it was two yellows.
-
2 yellows
-
I bet they`re not so keen to abandon it now!
-
Idiot need to stay tight now lets see what dickov does now
-
They're all over us at the min. Going to be lucky to hang on.
-
One of the strikers off. Furman/Syers on.
-
Need to get to half time and re-group
-
One of the strikers off. Furman/Syers on.
I`d go for Browny off, Furman on, keep Theo on for his pace
-
The wisdom of the second world war poster / tea towel say:
Keep calm and carry on.
Flapjack anyone?
-
Furman on at ht
-
We never do it the easy way. Ever.
Half-time.
-
The wisdom of the second world war poster / tea towel say:
Keep calm and carry on.
Flapjack anyone?
Go on then. Not had one in years.
-
Could be worse. We can regroup. Playing against 10 men isn't easy. No doubt PD may use a tactical switch and leave just the one up front.
Might leave brown to play deep in midfield. As I said that he's just missed a sitter !!
-
You could not write a script for this hope we can hold out.at least half time now.time to reorganise now.
-
never a dull moment when your a DRFC fan :)
-
Thank God, half time.
-
I wouldn't take Brown off - nobody to hold the ball upfront if so, all that will happen is that it will keep being hoofed back into our area!
-
Well, the team has a good spirit, hope its good enough to get us to keep infront for the rest of the game.
-
Step back.
Fun int it?
-
I would'nt take anyone off yet, just reshuffle a bit.Hopefully PD will have a good plan.
-
Exactly River Don. Its completely hatstand. Totally Keystone cops. The wonderful world of supporting a pub team ('cept this time its them not us)
-
agree reshuffle the pack leave brown upfront then have theo bust in from midfield to link up
-
Has it stopped raining do we know??
-
Maybe take Copps off, Furman on & drop Browny a bit deeper & put the ball in the corners for Theo to chase.
-
Exactly River Don. Its completely hatstand. Totally Keystone cops. The wonderful world of supporting a pub team ('cept this time its them not us)
Anyone for an injury time winner for Charlton.....you just know it, see it coming a mile off. :)
-
Apologies for the poor quality commentary. Charlton have failed to provide Rovers with a working ISDN line so I am delivering it through my iphone at present. There are 30 connection points here and only 3 work. Internet connection also doesn't work so I'm using my own internet dongle for that. Again, profuse apologies from me and the club - Rovers that is, not Charlton
-
QUESTION - If the match is called off in the end and the result is wiped out -does Keegan's red card get expunged as well? If the match never happened, how can the red card?
-
Still drizzling by the way. Groundstaff currently having a conference rather than doing anything to get rid of the water
-

Funny how a bit of sarf Landan wi' out a tube stop can seem like the end of the world.
-
Keep going Viva - its just one of those days. Fingers firmly crossed now :scarf:
-
Aren't we defending the swimming pool end in the second half
-
Glen. Doing in a brilliant job. You certainly pick your matches !!!
-
If anything, I think he may take Copps off and put Quinn on, as he did at Wigan and move Wabara further up.
-
seems like a long break, are they coming back out?
-
Something not right, been nearly twenty mins
-
Oh no
-
Twenty minutes since what?
-
Hoden thinks games off
-
Sounds like its done
-
Sounds like we're done.
-
Disgrace.
-
MATCH ABANDONED
-
f**king unbelievable
-
t**ts!! is the red card invalid now?
-
what a f**king joke
-
The Likes of Doncaster.
-
FA need to look at this, as to why our players were clearing the pitch and not the Charlton groundstaff.
-
t**ts!! is the red card invalid now?
should be
-
Apparently the ground staff have made no effort during half time!
-
b*llocks
-
Does Paul Keegan's sending off still stand?
-
This needs a formal protest to the FA and the ref and Charlton need seeing to.
-
Fecking tinpot club!!!
-
Aren't clubs responsible for making every attempt to make a pitch playable?
-
To be fair the guy on sky who's neutral says its the correct decision .
-
How many minutes?
-
Bloody disgraceful. The ref shouldn't have kicked off if what Viva says is right (no reason to think it isn't)
-
Facking cockney Wnakers
charlton ground staff not upto the job.
They could have at least Tried.
-
Does Paul Keegan's sending off still stand?
Yes I think, bizarrley the red card will stand.
-
To be fair the guy on sky who's neutral says its the correct decision .
He clearly knows f**k all. He said the ground staff had done a fantastic job, when everyone else at the game have said the groundstaff haven't even been on the pitch.
-
Let's hope this goes in to the refs match report and Charlton are fined for not taking sufficient steps to get the game back on.
Farcical and one again, the fans suffer !! Refunds ??
-
Let's hope this goes in to the refs match report and Charlton are fined for not taking sufficient steps to get the game back on.
You're having a laugh aren't you? it won't.
-
If the red card stands then so should the result. f**king bullshit
-
Does Paul Keegan's sending off still stand?
Yes I think, bizarrley the red card will stand.
How, the game did n`t take place
-
Sarf Landan, apples and pears nonsense.
-
Hang on. If the red card stands then so should the result.
I note on BBC they are showing it as a result.
-
Funny feeling really ....i'm not too disappointed ,remember we lost a 2 goal lead on Tuesday and that was with 11 men.
This could easily have gone the same way. :(
-
Wigan far better team than charlton
-
We wont get a 3goal start in the rematch!
-
Has the ref awarded the game to us????
-
i will take the sending off if it means we win 3-1 lol ;-p
-
No, he can't
-
We will be back midweek in February 0-0
-
We will be back midweek in February 0-0
Probably. The likes of Doncaster, etc.
-
To answer my own question, the card stands, so in actual fact the ref has screwed us always, he takes the players off looks like he`ll abandon it, then brings them out for the rest of the first half, sends a rovers player off, the rain apparently eases and the ball was apparently rolling better than it did the whole of the first half and he abandons it when we`re 3-1 up, the goals don`t count but the red card does!!!!
-
This is beyond a joke
-
Wonderful news. :headbang:
-
What a joke.
-
Does Paul Keegan's sending off still stand?
Yes I think, bizarrley the red card will stand.
How, the game did n`t take place
I agree Filo but I'm sure I have seen this happen before and couldn't believe the injustice of it. Could be wrong though.
-
The cynic in me thinks that at first Charlton were desperate to get the game abandoned and then they realised if they didn't play till half time they'd have to give everyone who paid refunds.
I'd suggest that everyone boycotts the rearranged fixture.
-
2 yellows are only a 1 game ban , so he'll only miss the Leeds cup tie......I think.

To be honest, after the frustration of the abandonment has died down, the pitch was unplayable in some areas. Yes it was the same for both teams, but it was difficult to play.
Realistically, the ref should have abandoned the game when he took the players off first time. The false restart in which we conceded a goal and had Keegs sent off was daft. The conditions on the pitch got no worse in that period, so why not make a firm decision and stick by it? I didn't like the fannying about IMHO.
As for the goals being wiped out but not the yellow cards, that's just how it is, frustrating, but within the rules I believe. Had it been the other way round, we'd have wanted it abandoned.
As for the rematch, yes we lose the 3-1 advantage but we start again with 11 men.
However, another very encouraging performance, with chances being taken in front of goal. Plus Turnbull made 3 or 4 saves of real quality - Charlton looked like scoring more and there was no cetainty we'd hold onto the lead....

Well said IDM, I think at the time, everyone was furious with the decision to abandon the game. But looking back, the pitch was unplayable, especially down the right side where Copps and Wabara were. If it was abandoned when we were 3-0 up and had 11 men we would have more right to moan, but as you say, we will have 11 men in the rematch.
We played some great, fast, fluent football at stages, even with the puddles, which shows promising signs. Charlton didn't look anything special.

I've just taken this randomly from the F A suspensions list and it appears to to start on the day of the offence.
Sheffield Wednesday FC Jermaine Johnson From 06/08/2013 until 24/08/2013
Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 3 first team matches for a Sending Off in a match played on 06/08/2013.

That will be because it was a straight red, two yellows = red, the suspension kicks in after 7 days and is only a 1 match ban

Can of worms this one Mr F. :)
Arsenal FC Laurent Koscielny from17/08/2013 until 4/08/2013
Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 1 first team match for a Sending Off in a match played on 17/08/2013.
This was for 2 yellows same as Keegan.

I think this rule changed a couple of seasons ago. All bans are effective immediately. Not checked it though.

I am fairly certain the suspension is effective immediately. I may be wrong, but didn't a (Yeovil?) player get sent off on a saturday not too long ago at easter, and missed the easter monday fixture through suspension because there was no time to appeal over the bank holiday?

Keegan will be suspended immediately. The FA details on suspensions are at:
http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions (http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions)
Basically the suspension commences from the next first team game, following disciplinary action in a first team game. "Red cards in first team competitive matches result in immediate suspension from forthcoming first team competitive matches. "
Keegan's name isn't on the list here yet as I expect the Ref's report has not yet been received/processed.
