Title: Is it time to pull the plug......
Post by: Filo on September 01, 2015, 03:28:11 pm
.....on Wellens leaving?

He's messed us about, supposed to have it sorted by yesterday and still no word on him leaving, leaving us with very little time to get a replacement in.

Pull the plug I say, f**k him!

No word in public, who knows what's going on behind closed doors?

But if he stays, get him in the team tonight!

Steve, he made himself the scapegoat by playing in every game up to this weekend, 3 days before the transfer window closes and he decides he wants out, leaving us little time to replace him, if he wanted out he should have said so in the summer!

All clubs are busy, its harder for a club like ours when we are reliant on other things happening before we can make our moves.

Think of it as a house move.... a long chain of clubs with limited budgets. One in, one out until fianlly we are at the end of the line.

Thats the case now, be patient.

I hope we have the deal sheets ready then and submitted before 6pm to give us 2 more hours to complete, we don't want a Real Madrid situation with our squad size

Maybe, maybe not.

But if we believe what Dickov said in public last weekend, Wellens has been approached - he hadn't asked to go nor had he been pushed.

cant understand the club they said they have the ambition to return to the championship yet they are showing no real intent to do this.the team is down to the bare bones and will remain so for a few weeks yet.cant beleave they are  reliant on wellens moving.and as for wellens if hes looking for the best deal he can who can blame him,it wont matter one jot to him and why should it. if he stays is contract is still there

Isn't tapping a player breaking FA's own rules regarding transfer etiquette?

Maybe, maybe not.

The conspiracy theory continues. If anyone tries to come up with another theory then the conspiracy theory deepens.
Personally, I just wanna watch my team have eleven blokes on the field who try 100%.

not neccessary so les, if the club was approached they are obliged to tell the player then its up to the club to allow the player to talk or not

Possibly, possibly not.

It isn't just a case of us wanting to sign someone, the player we want needs to become available too and that is dependent on the moves that club makes.

I'm not stirring or causing trouble. Just maybe slightly more in the know than some others.

Time's against us unfortunately. I doubt this will all be done in just over an hour. I think looking at the loan windows is more realistic for us. f**k knows what is happening with Wellens.

In respect of Wellens yes.

The problem is, the more it drags on, the harder to complete the paperwork for a new player.

How much of a disaster would it be if Wellens goes and nobody comes in....................

I find it difficult to believe ANY club is going to offer Wellens higher wages than what he was getting paid here. That might be the catch.

Post by: Filo on September 01, 2015, 04:33:46 pm
According to Dickov he wanted an answer from Wellens one way or the other last night, Wellens was only going on his terms and he needed time to get a replacement in, here we are 90 minutes before the window closes and nothing, no word on any Wellens deal, for me he's f**ked us about too long, time to tell him he's going no where

But if Wellens stays because a deal can't be made. It looks that stops the other two players coming in a versatile defender and a Forward so we have not got the budget to get them unless Richie goes it appears.

Was there a takeover attempt in the summer?

We have got  good midfield without him so yes let's  f--k him we have some jokers on here.

May seem underwhelming, but as it stands we've hung onto our key central midfielder and loaned another to provide temporary cover and competition. We could still do with addressing the right back slot, though.

What's Andy Griffin up to?

Rovers said more to come
Liam Holden said he couldn't rule anything out and then said to bear in mind they have until 8.

Are you sure the more to come bit didn't mean more to come about the gobern signing.

I'm willing to give the players we've signed a chance. Stewart - Gobern - Chaplow - N'Guessan. We've basically got an entire midfield that we've hardly seen play.

Get them all up to speed and fit and see where we are. A RB would have been nice, as would a striker. I have faith that Lund will come good though so not entirely desperate and Main can improve.

I'm getting worried we are going to get lumbered with Wellens...he's burnt his bridges for me now...Don't want him to wear the badge again...I'd make him sit on the bench from now on...

We don't need to play Wellens at all. When Keegan and N-Guessan come back we've got a midfield that's plenty big enough. I still assume he's going though.

Wellens will probably go out on loan if he hasn't gone today. Can't see him staying.

While he is here he is still our best central midfield player. The public statements imply that there's no rift, so whilever he's our player he has to be in contention to play.

How do you know that Jonathan - how much have you seen of Gobern/Chaplow to say they arn't better than Wellens?

Chaplow is not a natural central midfielder by trade. Gobern isn't ours, he belongs to QPR.

Actually I take that back...Play him tonight...give Saturdays first choice midfielder chance to prepare...then send him on loan...

Really? Dickov seems to think so.

Gobern isn't ours, he belongs to QPR.

He's ours until January because there is no recall. It is also a loan with view to a permanent move. Wellens is only 'ours' until the end of the season anyway.

Give the new lads a chance to gel I say.

Hold his wages back, after tonight it'll be two games he's made himself unavalable for while he trys to get a move!

Liam Hoden ‏@liamhoden  now
Understand Richie Wellens' move to another club did not materialise.  Big questions to be answered over his future at #drfc #starlive

Big Al

I did worry that a manager might have a look on here before deciding whether or not to make a signing. You would, wouldn't you?

Acko. You might not always agree with Filo but I think withholding his wages would be a bit harsh.

N'Guessan got his injury whilst playing for us against York. He was fit when he signed just not match fit.

Public statements are one thing, Jon, but what actually has happened may well be another. It's a well known fact that Ritchie was frustrated with our lack of signings, claiming we needed maybe 3 more in a few weeks ago. We all know we have a threadbare squad and maybe the seniors are getting overrun by what they are being asked to do. Maybe, maybe not. It's my feeling that someone's frustration may have got the better of him. Just a gut feeling, that's all.

today we were suppose to be signing a versatile defender and a forward we didn't because Richie move did not go through.
Therefore the loans we were going to make we couldn't because we couldn't afford them until Richie goes.

There's definitely something in the pipeline

Aaah that makes sense now, the toilets are blocked up because there's a loan signing jammed in the u-bend!.

Have we any idea who it is?, not always easy to get deals done, even the top teams wait for movement from other players so we are no different, Gobern is a solid signing.
