Crawley currently sit 16th in League 2, having scored 25 goals less than Rovers and conceded 10 more. They have lost 3, won 2 and drawn 1 of their last 6 games.

Rovers to win 1-3 today
Just hope that sky sports don't have the mardy girl, women, lady, female, that was reporting on the Cambridge/rovers game other night.
-
Who cares about who is presenting?? Won't affect the players....

Sound quality is bad on player, cutting out momentarily every 4 seconds.

Not happening that often for me, but annoying!

Very annoying, why don't they test it before they go on air?

Spoke too soon, it's getting more frequent. Let's hope for a good result to make up for it. :scarf:

Tom Biltcliffe reporting from Crawley for Radio Sheffield.

Sound quality rubbish on the summariser mic'.

Tom Biltcliffe reporting from Crawley for Radio Sheffield.
Wondered where he'd got to. Not so sure about today's commentators. Agree about the summariser, has he got his mouth to close to the mic?
-
It's a technical problem, both of their mics are the same.
-
.... Not so sure about today's commentators. Agree about the summariser, has he got his mouth to close to the mic?
I like these two, getting a good sense of the game. The crackling is just atmospheric rain effect

Hope they'll be a bit more pro Rovers. Biltcliffe is good but tended to get too excited if the other team scores. Obviously angling for a job with RS

Orient winning the battle at the bottom at the moment.

Rowe brought down. Pen, Marquis to take it...

Penalty to us! Marquis misses, May misses the rebound!
-
Get Williams on!

Marquis goes low and Morris saves. May attempts to turn in the rebound from the angle but it's blocked out for a corner Crawley 0 #drfc 0

Oh well. He's in good company. That big stiff at Utd missed one today too.

-
What is it with us and penalties?
-
The penno on Tuesday was actually perfect for a goalie t9 save, good height with little power. John just isn't the best at them.. sadly..
-
Missed or a good save?
Either way Marquis will be riled.. he will smash the next chance in no doubt..
-
Sounds like chance after chance for rovers.
-
Sounds like chance after chance for rovers.
And miss after miss

Taking a pen is like hitting a snooker ball in the right place, not that difficult. It is something that can be practised. Anyway... other scores a mixed bag so far, I'd be happy with a point in this.
-
Sounds like chance after chance for rovers.
That NEVER ends well for us!
-
Rubbish.. the more we create the more likely we are to score.. a few years back at millwall we had 30 attempts at goal and only won 3-0..
We aren't top scorers in the division for no reason!!
-
Newport 0 Orient 2.
Although I've always been kindly disposed towards Newport County, I can't abide that manager of theirs. So this score, if it stays, will just about hammer the final nail in his coffin. Splendid. He can't moan about inherited players. They're all his now. Come on Orient.
BobG
-
Their keeper sounds to be a bit too good!
-
Just got to be patient here and keep the ball on the deck.
-
Sound like their keeper having a blinder.

I hope you're right because I've never seen us have all the chances and lose 1-0 in my 48 (48!! Jesus I'm old) years of watching the Mighty Reds!
-
BBC Sport stats say they have had 60% possession, but it sounds to be all Rovers.
-
GOAL......but no. Alfie May hooks in but he's given offside. Still Crawley 0 #drfc 0

0-0 half time we've had plenty of chances to be leading.

Just seen the penno, why on earth do players not smash f@@ck out of the ball, just whack it. If it's hard enough, it goes in!!!!

Good atmosphere? Sounds quiet on Player

Just seen the penno, why on earth do players not smash f@@ck out of the ball, just whack it. If it's hard enough, it goes in!!!!
Not seen it - what did Marquis do?
Whacking it is one approach, but hitting it hard enough and acurately is more effective. Most people can kick something making contact within a square inch of the the target, which then makes it go in a particular direction. That's all it takes and these pros should be able to be far more acurate. Soft placement is risky, mind game type run ups are as distracting for the kicker as the keeper.

Plymouth and Luton winning not looking good for Carlisle.
-
Lawler made 2 very good saves there.
-

It's clueless how commentators will come out with that kind of thing. About half of scored pens are like this, less than average quality and easily saveable if the keeper goes the right way.
-
Sounds like Crawley having a bit of a go.. that's ok as we can hit them on the break?
-
I stick by my early season post that Carlisle will dive and finish mid table.
-

He placed it fairly softly to the corner, if goalie chooses rightly , it's an easy save.

Alfie May making a nuisance of himself, two Crawley players booked in 2 minutes for offences against May.

Cracking following considering the distance.

Similar to what he did at Cambridge, that time it was to the keepers right.
-

It's a darn site more difficult if your opponent puts his hand in front of the pocket!
-
He missed one earlier in the season against Cambridge going straight down the middle. Looked like their keeper just stayed still thinking he'd do the same again.
-
I hope we don't live to regret our missed chances.
Plymouth and Luton winning not looking good for Carlisle.
As it stands 12 points above 4th place
A winning goal puts us 14 points above 4th place with games running out
-
I worked at a charity event years ago running a penalty scoring comp. The keeper was Clive Baker, Barnsleys first choice keeper at the time. He said he preferred someone to hit it hard as it was easier to save than a placed shot. The contestants proved him right. Whether it's the same for all keepers I wouldn't know.

McSheffrey needs to be brought on for us to take control of the attacking half.

Andy Williams on for Alfie May for Rovers. Crawley 0 #drfc 0

Get the Beast on....... along with Sheffers

Williams on for May. Come on Willo, you're due one!

Got a feeling this will end 0-1 Williams with the goal

Yes, McSheffrey can make a positive impact. Williams on first.

Stunning volley from James Coppinger but a Crawley defender gets a vital header in to deflect it over. Bullet. Crawley 0 #drfc 0

We'll score in a minute!
It's feeling that way. If I was a Crawley fan I'd be feeling the same for them.

Lets leave it till the 93rd min

Crewe score
-
There's gonna be loads of twists and turns before the end of the season, we just have to keep calm and not panic. If we draw today, not the end of the world, one game less to play, still a healthy lead over 4th..
-
Crewe score
Loving that! Don't want scummy Portsmouth getting promo.
-
Few too many chances for Crawley. Come on Rovers!
-
I wish someone would just put their foot through the ball and stop playing Chuckle brothers football.

OFF THE LINE!! Williams rises superbly to power a header from McSheffrey's corner but Jimmy Smith heads it off line. Crawley 0 #drfc 0
For Williams read Butler

Finished.
-
Nil nil. Disappointing but could have been worse.
-
Missed opportunity to win, especially when you are given a penalty, needs to be buried.
-
No damage done 12 points clear of 4th with 11 games to go
-
I would be worried perhaps if we weren't creating chances.. win the next game and we maintain two points per game..
We scored 5 goals in the previous 2 games so it's not as if we can't score..
-
6 missed pens this season hasn't helped keep my blood pressure down at all!
COYR
-
Naturally disappointed with the result considering our dominance in the 1st half and the missed penalty. But I'd have taken 4 points from these two away games beforehand.
Just need to make sure we get the job done at home against Cheltenham and Notts County. Do that and we're almost there.
-
Ah well. A point is another point on the board.
-
Scrappy stuff. Should really have been out of sight by half time but Crawley were better in the second half. Well, they fought harder anyway. They were poor. I know there was another thread about how the substitution of James Coppinger effects the game... Really missed him when he went off. Back to Gatwick for me now
-
Penalty miss/save apart we should've won today. We didn't, but we didn't lose either! A point away from home is better than nowt. Still 4 clear at the top. Next game please.
