Usual story. If they behave themselves then no problem. If they decide to carry on like prats they can have no complaints if they are thrown out.

Don't really care as long as as has been said they don't act like Kitsons. It's not as if we don't do it.

Middlesbrough have put a block on anyone without previous purchasing history for the Wall game at the weekend as well as only giving us a thousand tickets.

It makes a bit of a mockery out of putting netting on seats and closing areas in order to separate two sets of supporters if they're allowed anywhere in the ground anyway.

Surely it's a potential health and safety issue?

As others have said. If they're happy to give us their money and behave themselves then let it be.

As long as they're respectful to our fans then I see no harm. I've sat with fans of opposition teams before at the Keepmoat and it's all a good laugh if they treat it right.

More the merrier I say. Let Blackburn fans boost next year's budget!

Good on them, it'll be nice to have a bigger than usual crowd and a potentially decent atmosphere even if there's nothing riding on the game from a Rovers perspective.

As a sidenote, the last two attendances have been given as 7k and 8k or thereabouts but there didn't look to be anywhere near that number in the ground. Do the club do tickets sold attendances rather than bums on seats nowadays?

Look at the crowds given for Bradford Cit's last two home games. There were about 10,000 max for the Portsmouth game and even less for the previous one. I know a lot of City season ticket holders and they all said the same.

Every club does it nowadays I think, look at the thing with Arsenal attendances hitting 57-58 thousand when there's clearly not that many there.

Yes, I agree on that.
I would be surprised then if there were more than 6000 in the stadium on Saturday and 1000 of those were away supporters.
It kind of emphasises the point that our own support is dwindling right now even though the official attendance was 8255.

Not sure why they would buy in the home end as they haven't sold their allocation yet.

Seems like Blackburn are setting records for tomorrow night and will more than likely be a sell out

And there'll be no cash turnstiles either. So those who do use them will need to visit the ticket office.

I had a ticket (didnt use it in the end, gave it to a friend) in the Brentford end. I managed to get a ticket from our ticket office a day before the game.

As long as they are well behaved then they should be welcomed.

I took the girlfriend to watch Millwall at Forest for the first game this season and we got chucked out and we never opened our mouths, for the crime of wearing a lapel badge. According to the stewards it was for our own safety because they can't control the actions of the crowd if we had cheered if we scored.

We've round about 5000 season ticket holders, Rigo; they're counted as part of every home game whether they turn up or not.

I suppose it gives some supporters an opportunity to tell us that our support isn’t falling away.

It's a EFL rule that clubs have to declare "tickets sold" (including season tickets) as the attendance rather than numbers through the turnstiles.

All the tickets allocated to us had been sold before the weekend ,our website said Doncaster were not going to allocate anymore ,hence the mad rush to get them in the home sections ,Rovers B/burn twitter was not stating the same allocation as website ,a bit of cross wires ,however having sold 3300 we got informed this morning that a further 700 were now available ,i believe these have also gone...Doncaster ticket office have been canceling and returning money to all lancastrian postcodes who have purchased in the home section ,quite a few people stating this and not happy ,but it is a home section afterall and i am sure we have voiced our concern when its happened to us  ....To make matters worse you Twitter via some laison chappy was saying we could pay on the day and even stated were to get them ,all very confusing.....
Perfect result tommorrow is a high scoring entertaining draw and Posh to beat the Shrews ,had great feedback from Donny supporters may the best team win

It possibly would have stayed pay on the day if it wasn't for your lot buying in the home end.
Title: Re: Blackburn buying tickets in home end!!!
Post by: silent majority on April 23, 2018, 07:49:05 pm
It would have remained as pay on the day if you hadn't suddenly sold out.

The most you have taken to an away game this season has been 3,000, which is why the initial allocation was 3,300. Don't forget that the away club, that's you Blackburn!, have to request the tickets you need about 5 weeks before the fixture takes place and the home club has to deliver those tickets about 4 weeks before the fixture happens. Because this is a postponed fixture you will have had those tickets a long time.

Our largest following was a sell out at Rochdale 3500 not 3000 and to be honest we have had few sell outs this season .I think we have the largest away following in this division ....we have sold 4000 and lets not forget it is a Tuesday night plus  the fact we have sold out of our allocated tickets for Charlton as well over 3000..

Obviously happy to take their money but is it just me that hates it when we allocate 4000+ to the away team?

I know it makes sense when there is plenty of room in the ground and there's revenue to be made, but it must make it feel like a home game for the away side.

Something I've always wondered. If the game gets rearranged, is there a potential for a ticket to be sold in a seat that the ticket hasn't been returned for?

I’ve seen Germany play in 3 different countries , in Germany it was totally sterile with absolutely no atmosphere, all the chants well the 3 times they made any noise was orchestrated by the “super fans “ with big flags pitch side of the barriers . Majority of German fans turned up in club clothing, hats ,coats ,scarves and shirts. Just imagine doing that at a Scotland match, Rangers-Celtic, Wales match,Cardiff-Swansea etc it just wouldn’t happen

Something what gets me about away fans in the home end...

In England, this sort of 'That's an away fan, chuck him out!' argument occurs pretty much every time it happens. I remember Charlie Swallow, in his days when he had a title at the club, going beserk because in a Donny v Peterborough game in 09/10, there was a fella wearing a Posh shirt in the home end. He turned out to be a mate of Paul Mayfield or something but that didn't stop him giving it the big 'un and trying to get the fella kicked out.

Compare it to Germany and there's been various times I've seen opposing colours in the home sections, yet there's never any hostility and it's a more a case of 'Come here laddo, let me get ya a beer' and lots of friendly banter, football-chat, but never, ever any aggro.

I was even at Inter v Juventus last season, a local derby (to a degree) and there were hundreds upon hundreds of colour-wearing Juve fans in the home sections.

So why the f*ck is it perceived as a massive problem in England? It's something I'll never be able to understand nowadays. At the end of the day, so what if the bloke three seats away supports a different team?

Rigo, you're comparing countries with a café culture mentality to England, a nation full of p*ssheads; there has to be extra vigilance over here.

I worked in Blackburn for 18 years so I have many old friends who are Blackburn Rovers fans.
They won the Premiership not long before we dropped into the Conference, but we made up a lot of ground on them in the ensuing years!

Their fans have been through bad times recently under very unpopular owners, so we share much in common.
Even their glory days under Kenny Dalglish were achieved thanks to the money of a local hero in Jack Walker, not some faceless foreign billionaire.

I'm hoping for a (red) Rovers victory tonight but Blackburn to be promoted by virtue of Shrewsbury's result against Posh.

Then they can enjoy their party but not at our expense!

They've not sold out yet!!!

Just 100 tickets remain for the game at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening

We can confirm that only 100 tickets remain for the game against Doncaster Rovers tonight at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Once the remaining tickets have been sold, the total allocation of 3,842 will have been reached, with no further tickets available.

Tickets can be purchased from Roverstore or you can ring up on 01254 372000 to purchase and collect at Doncaster. Please note tickets cannot be purchased online.

These tickets can be collected at Doncaster Rovers, and we advise supporters to arrive early, as it is expected that over 1,000 Rovers fans will be there to collect theirs.

Kick-off against the Yorkshire side is 7.45pm.

I think that any Blackburn fans collecting tickets at the Keepmoat should be told that they collect them from the ticket office near the away end rather than the main ticket office.
They will be gutted if they queue for ages to be told that they need to do the same elsewhere. They may even miss the kick off.

Ruabon Rovers in Wales were in existence circa 1869/1870 as they were one of the teams that merged together to form the formidable Druids FC in 1872. Clapham may just be older though.
