Coventry 1-0 up at Portsmouth.
-
Come on pompy at least a draw
-
Cov very lively on break
-
BST your prediction that we would get over the line easily is starting to look a tad optimistic.
If Coventry and Peterborough win today then even if we beat Accrington next Saturdays match at Oxford will be massive.
Lose that and we might have to beat Coventry on the last day.
-
BST should know better. The business ends of seasons are always unpredictable. We should know from experience.
You wouldn't put it past Peterborough getting a result today.
-
It's looking like the 5-4 at Sunderland was no fluke! Come on, Portsmouth.
-
Pompey deserve the win for the efforts of their mowing team.
-
Portsmouth don’t look like scoring in a month of Sunday’s here. Coventry on a roll. Could be an interesting final day if we don’t win at least one of our next two.
-
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL POMPEY!
-

pardon lol,get in pompey
-
Thank the lordy for that 1-1.
I don't fancy us against Huwuli down their left wing on the last day.
-
Reverse psychology worked ;)
It was always going to take a set play. Pompey toiling a bit in open play.
-
funny that i've just tuned into the match my mate bogle is nowhere to be seen and pompey score
-
2-1 pompey
-
Pompey lead 2 1
-
Good old Pompey!
-
Wouldn’t mind the table stopping as it is now
-
Nerve shredded last 5 mins now.
-
Good old Pompey!
I think the technical expression is 'play up Pompey' ;)
-
If Sunderland do their bit, this could turn out to be a great day, two and a half minutes for Pompey to hold on.
-

yes i knew i'd seen some old logo saying that could just see the commentary going the ball's down the port side crossed over to the stern side fortunately Pompey fathomed out how to win
-
I think that's Coventry sunk. 5 points behind, and no chance with the goal difference with two games to play. If we can't get at least one point in these last 3 we don't deserve the play offs.
-
I was impressed with Coventry - likely to be a massive team in this league next season if they hang onto the best of that squad and add a few.
-
A point tomorrow and they are as good as out of the running, so that's a great start to the day for us. Peterborough v Sunderland is the big one though! Let's hope it goes our way.
-
Fair play Barnsley, 3-0 up before half time so they’re not giving up on 2nd spit without a fight.
In the league above Sheff Utd are cranking up he pressure on Leeds, also 3-0 up before HT.
-
Worse than watching us play on Friday, this is.
-
One hell of a scrap for 2nd spot isn't it guys , very pleased at half time and the implications for the GD , just got to keep going .
I'm a nervous wreck , don't know how much more of this I can handle in all honesty .
:headbang:

at the moment i'd price you at 5/1 on for top 2
jeff stelling today suddenly changed that stat about Sunderland scoring in every match
think he forgot about barnsley o sunderland 1 as sunderland just score
-
I hope Pompey finish third. I fancy us against them given recent results.
-
yes 1-0
-
Get in there mackems
-
Great strike
-
Get in
-
Not like a Ferguson side to concede late
-
Not like a Ferguson side to be bottling Kitsons when the chips are down.
-
Could be a huge goal.
-
1-1. Shite.
-
1-1
-
bas**rds
-
unyes 1-1
-
Win tmoz it's all over surely
-
Ho they’ve scored a equaliser can score late as well not really bottled it either. Over to us now 3 points a must fromTuesday.
-
Woops, no Fergie bottle job today then.
-
Keep ya gobs shut , til the final whistle. :-)
-
Woops, no Fergie bottle job today then.
There was 7 added on, there's still time.

-
It's rare when two of my favourite things - football & the Simpsons - collide but that was almost beautiful with a winner from Max Power.
Once again, though, Fergie's ruined everything.
-
Win tomorrow and we go six clear of them. It's still so comfortably in our hands.
-
Two massive games, posh vs pompey and us vs coventry, every game is key now though.
-
Would love Barnsley to f**k it and end up 3rd now solely so I don't have to drive to Portsmouth or Sunderland or even London on a Thursday.
-
Woops, no Fergie bottle job today then.
He has got two points from six at crucial stage of season and now has two away games on trot - including going to Portsmouth who have won 10 of their last 11. He has bottled this weekend.
-
“Bottled” is the most overused b*llocks phrase in football these days. CBCB - you’ve spent weeks telling us there’s absolutely no chance of Peterborough catching us - if that’s the case, how exactly does 2 draws constitute “bottling” anything?
-
Because they haven’t caught us. If he had won both games they would have passed us. He hasn’t and again - Peterborough will not finish ahead of us this season.
-
He may have but will you say the same if we end with 0pts from two games.
-

Throwback to the last time he f**ked his Easter fixtures when it actually mattered.
-
Red, if we get in the playoffs, I will be happy to go to any of them, and I am sure yourself and most of our supporters will be.
We can't complain about today, both the teams chasing us dropping points, although it looked better with a couple of minutes to go.
It is now up to us to put in a performance tomorrow.
-
I don't overly care as I'll be going regardless but I'll be tucked up in bed by 11 coming back from Barnsley compared to probably 2am from down south.
-
Ferguson has 19 points from 14 games in charge of Peterbro this time around.
1.3 points per game.
-
If we get 3 points tomorrow we’ve bettered p’boro’s points total by 1 point over this weekends games. Job done again for another weekend if we win tomorrow
-
Because they haven’t caught us. If he had won both games they would have passed us. He hasn’t and again - Peterborough will not finish ahead of us this season.
To bottle something you’ve got to be on the verge of doing something. Like we were with the League Two title. Drawing at home to a side who beat us 3 days ago when we here unlikely to make the playoffs as it is isn’t bottling anything.
-
Huge game tomorrow for BOTH clubs, Accrington Stanley will be battling for their lives & will for sure play to take at least a point, knowing we could do with all 3. Coleman is a wily old dog & this will be a difficult night. But, in my opinion, with the supporters behind the players we can virtually put this to bed if we win tomorrow. Bring it on!
-
Sunderland v Pompey next saturday at the SOL just to add to the drama .
Nailed on draw in my opinion .
-

Tomorrow's game is absolutely crucial - both Oxford and Coventry are on great runs and full of confidence, and with nothing to lose.
-

He has got two points from six at crucial stage of season and now has two away games on trot - including going to Portsmouth who have won 10 of their last 11. He has bottled this weekend.
This weekend they’ve drawn with two sides who have both taken 6 points off us this season.
Bottled it 😂😂🤷🏼♂️

Kinda like Leeds might be doing. Come on you Bees!

Bloody hell you don’t have love sticking up for their manager.
-
Not really,
Just your mans obsession with blaming everything on Ferguson is amazing
-
Nothing to get upset about is it? The man is a former employee of DRFC and will never be involved in our club again.
Onwards and upwards.
-
I never bring him up,
But to suggest a side has bottled it by drawing with Sunderland obviously deserves a reply
-
1:0 to Brentford
-
Really need to put a marker down tomorrow , go out and get the job done early
-
Accrington aren’t bad away, let’s just get that win
-
Absolutely gutted when that Peterborough equaliser was scored.
What a difference that 1 point could possibly be.
Went to Harrogate Town and spent 80 of the 97 mins on the BBC Sport website on the phone. May as well have stayed at home and watched Jeff Sterling.
Anyway what little i saw of the match was enjoyable and Town we’re back to their best 2nd half. A solid 2-0 win which quaranteed a play off birth in their 1st ever season in the 5th tier.
Well done to them, anything more will be a massive bonus and well beyond where realistically they should have achieved this season.
-
Accrington is a must win game if ever there was one.
Can’t see Walsall getting anything against Posh next Saturday and the way Oxford are playing and our poor away form.
What we will need is for Portsmouth to beat Posh a week on Tuesday and we will hopefully be over the line on GD if not points before we play Coventry.
Come on the Rovers.
Barnsley in the play offs is now looking a real possibility.
-
I never bring him up,
But to suggest a side has bottled it by drawing with Sunderland obviously deserves a reply
1. He was raised by someone else.
2. I said two from six - nothing about a draw against Sunderland.
3. Support your club! (if that is Rovers?)
-
Win tomorrow and we have done it because Peterborough will lose at least one or their games and that's without us picking up any points against oxford or Coventry. We have a better goal difference which is like an extra point so play offs it is.

I think in the past Dickos’ unwavering support was too much, but you clearly have a very intense dislike of Ferguson and a very intense liking for arguing with Dickos.
Not sure what the “support your club” comment is all about - there have been hundreds of posts on here today about other clubs. Including a couple by you recently about Leeds United.
-
We never do it easy do We,I fully expect us to fook it up tmoz and it goes to last game, hope I'm wrong
-

Shush! :police:
-
Win tomorrow puts Coventry out of the equation and Peterborough must at least win 2 and draw the other. Unless there is a turnaround in goal difference it will be at least 9 if we win tomorrow.
-
The Dingles deserve 2nd place, hope they go up. We have a 100% record in play-offs, hope we get Sunderland, and see them bottle the play-offs, like they did the FL Trophy final.
-
Never under estimate a John Coleman side up against it - Settle things down in the first half, take the sting out the game and kill them off in the second half, job done move onto Saturday.
-

You said they’ve bottled this weekend I’m afraid.
-
Yes - this weekend, not just Sunderland, which was your (erroneous) premise. I said two from six this weekend was their problem. Pay attention at the back Mr Dickos!
-
Aye
So you suggested they’ve bottled this weekend. Because they could only draw with fleetwood away and Sunderland at home.
Just have a think about that,
Our cumulative record against those sides this season is 10 goals against and 0 goals for.
But they’ve bottled it by drawing, give your head a wobble.
-
Doesn’t really matter what we did against those sides. Irrelevant really. We’ve obviously picked up more points against other sides (including 4 off Peterborough)
They had two games that you could say were “must-win” and they didn’t win either, so when you look at it like that....
-

Yep, it is a league.
It doesn’t matter what individual teams do against each other, it is about who picks up the most points.
Right now we are effectively four points better off than Peterbro as our goal difference is worth an extra point.
A win tomorrow puts us effectively seven points better off.
Ferguson has averaged 1.3 points per game with them this season whereas Fatty managed just better than 1.6 before he was sacked.
Maybe they made a mistake sacking him.
-
Not sure they were both must win for them I was hoping they’d struggle with the three games they’ve just had, which looked tough on paper but they’ve got 5 points from the 3 of them, hopefully not enough.
If we f**k up tomorrow I can’t see us winning at Oxford and they could be Level with us on sat night with a game in hand.
And we don’t want to have to get something against Coventry so tomorrow is probably our biggest game of the season now.
-
Think if we make 6th now, I'd like Portsmouth to come 3rd.
I don't mind who we might meet at Wembley as, in a one-off game on the big day, anything can happen. But I fancy our chances over two legs against Pompey, we have a good record against them and we can handle the way they play. Sunderland concern me after the two games with them this season, especially a second leg at the Stadium of Light with that expectant crowd, and Barnsley look in fine fettle at the moment.
-

How do you know Peterborough will lose at least one of their remaining games.
Sorry you can’t say that as Football does not work in that way. In the 57 years since i saw my first match i have seen too many games not go to script. Peterborough could win their last 3 games. FACT
Whether they will is another matter and i don’t think they will win at Pompey but they could.
-
Think Barnsley will get that second place especially if Sunderland and Portsmouth draw next Saturday
-
It is up to us now, we have three games to play, play well and we are more than capable of getting over the line.
We need to get behind the team, help them get over the line, no one is going to lay down for us,only 100% concentration and effort is needed by the whole club, players, management and supporters, I believe we are good enough, then it is start again with everyone from scratch.
-

Sunderland have really blown it, they were level with Barnsley with 2 games in hand, that's gone by the way side... let's hope the mental side of the game creeps in when we meet them in the play offs...

If we face Sunderland in the playoffs they may relax as they have beat us twice in the regular season which could be a good thing for us if we win at home then loads of pressure on them at home just need to keep it tight.
Onto Peterborough we just need to match them until season end then last match we can relax and enjoy for the first end of season for a little bit until playoffs
-
I’ve been going back and forth on who I’d like if we secure sixth spot. I had fancied Pompey but to be honest, I don’t care now :) I think we can give anybody a game of we’re at it.
-
Assuming we keep our nerve and make 6th place, whoever we get in the play-offs will have got something pushing 20 points more than us. That'll be one of the biggest gaps ever, I'd guess, so we will need a decent slice of luck to have much of a chance.
-

But, it goes out the window in the play offs. Leeds must have got a fair few points more than us when we beat them?
It'll be tough and we are massive underdogs going in to potentially the play offs but anything can happen.
-
Let’s just WIN tonight first because if we don’t then it is going to get very very nervy indeed.
I really don’t think the play offs should be an assumption just yet.
Seen too many cock ups over the years.
Having said that if we turn up tonight, which i am confident we will, then score early and we might well get 3/4. Here’s hoping anyway.
Just don’t think anything should be taken for granted.
Remember we came 3rd in a 1 horse race not very long ago.
Just pleased we have a manager who i am confident will not let something similar happen.
-
There are some getting ahead of themselves on this thread. Tonight is anything but easy and it depends what team turns up as we didn’t get off the bus at Sunderland.
-

We finished on 80 points, Leeds on 76 but of course they had a 15 point deduction so earned 91 points in actuality, so yes a large disparity.
I'm not sure points differentials have ever really had a bearing on Play Off games. We're going to finish 20 odd points down on Luton but we beat them earlier in the season, we also got two draws against Barnsley, and Portsmouth, and should have beaten Charlton. We have proven we can compete with these sides even if we haven't managed more wins.
-
Interesting looking at the past years and it does show that league position doesn't have that much bearing on the winners (4th seems to be the place to be). I did read an article a while back that form going in to the play offs (IE April onwards) is a better indicator of a potential winner. In League 1 at the moment that would be quite tough to do as pretty much all of the top 7 are consistently picking up points (even we have 9 pts from the last 4 games).
