It is hard to see just how we can recover from the battering we took last night against another side who completely overpowered us some weeks ago the same as Rotherham did last night.
Part of the problem after signing so many new players and the excitement that created is that realistically we are undergoing yet another preseason during a season with so many newby's, and it is no surprise that experienced supporters such as Hound and Billy Stubbs Tears agreeing it was hard to see a consistent style of play, now there is a turn up for the book those two agreeing about anything, and me along with them, football can work wonders.
It was a hard watch last night us being taken to the cleaners by a strong side at this level, who will probably undergo again the same troubles and tribulations as we are next season when they once again play at a level they are unsuited to with that style of play.
How do we get over that performance ourselves in just a few days against a team that have the ability to pile on even more hurt and pressure on our team and management is hard to see, and against a team that themselves are smarting from a disastrous result and will want to give us a good hiding to recover some of their pride.
The first thing we have to do is pick ourselves up, be determined to fight for every ball, and have some pride in our efforts whether they are good enough or not. The game last night when we showed very little is a big knock when everyone was seeing a little improvement and new players through the door.
We must at all costs show up better to the end of the season for the sake of next season whatever league we are in, we have been abject for a full year and it has to be arrested however we do it it's as simple as that.
All the usual questions about what team make up we play etc. etc. can be asked about the game and many more deeper insightful questions about the clubs identity and travel in the game to be discussed, please feel free to have your say.

Sunderland have the best home record in League One and the best home defensive record. They’ve conceded only 9 times in 14 league games. Only Rotherham have scored more goals at home in the league this season. No other team has won as many home games.
-
After their debacle at Bolton the fans will be baying for blood this weekend.
I fear another absolute tonking against another physical team - the exact kind we capitulate against.
-
We’ve got the squad we’ve got a manager learning the role players learning their roles and within the team. Again can’t see past a loss we are not good enough and if it continues we won’t be good enough in league 2 either. 3 pts from the last 30pts with 17 games left another 51 pts will we achieve another 6pts.
-
With regards to the thread title, I would rather not.
-
I’m feeling an apathy bordering on acceptance from our fanbase, I don’t think it really matters who is up next and the score line is just a by product of our accumulated problems….
I’ll keep banging this drum until someone can say I’m wrong!
The next 7-8 games are not realistically winnable , Gary knows this and so do we, so the best way to exit this period is to blood the newbies and experiment with shapes and positioning until something works and looks right….then finish the 8-10 games with a better idea of what this squad can do and more importantly who can be moved on for next seasons tough outing!
Sunderland will beat us, we will play a different formation and some performances will stand out more than others…. And Gary will get a better understanding of what is needed, which in the long run benefits us!

Couldn't give a toss about this game. GM can put Mitchell up top for all i care. We will get mullered. The chance to build on the very promising Plymouth performance was wiped away literally overnight by what GM did yesterday. Who knows what the line up will be?
Anyone travelling up for this game either has nothing else to do of a Saturday or is struggling with increasing mental difficulties, and please don't give me 'because it's what fans do' b*llocks. Half of this team and this manager have proven now that they aren't worth supporting.
Support the football club. Go to home games.
-
Jermaine Defoe must have a cock like wrought iron at the thought of facing us.

You could have just disagreed with what I wrote instead of churning out an angrier version!

Haha yeah i guess. Still haven't calmed down from last night i'm afraid. Just unbelievable. I genuinely thought against Plymouth we had a lot more to work with going forward but back to square one within the space of a few days thanks to the L1 equivalent of f**king Claudio Ranieri.

I’m slightly concerned your thoughts around our impending doom at this game seems to focus on this chaps Phallus?

Even though i'm not bothered ;) i'd say drop Horton and put Jackson in there. Drop Dodoo and Mipo and start Agard and Griffiths. Jones back in net is a no brainer. Start Martin. Drop Seaman. Start Galbraith. That would be a good place to start from.
-
If the squad that played last night are all fit if play…
Mitchell
Jackson
Younger
Olowu
Knoyle
Rowe
Galbraith
Smith
Martin
Reo
Mipo
4321
I’d be tempted to put Williams back in if he’s fully fit. May sound mad but taking one of the young centre halves out of the firing line for a couple of games may be wise. Olowu has done ok but these kids need managing, they can’t be expected to play week in week out to a good level.
-
Knoyle IMO has been dire all season. Half the time i don't even know he's playing. No other option i guess in that slot either.
Our squad is far too lightweight throughout.
-
This will be my first "away" game in two years, although it is only a short drive from where I live.
I fully expect us to get tonked 7-0. The Sunderland fans will be in great mood now Johnson has been sacked and Jermain Defoe is back - Defoe is top, top quality and will have a field day with our defence. The signing is akin to us signing Billy Sharp in the summer for League Two.
-
RA, I hope you enjoy the day, Defoe is crap and they blow up in front of their own crowd, a long shot I know but anyone who travels up there deserve to at least see a performance after last night.
-
Will they have a new Manager place before Saturday??
-
Five reasons why we'll probably lose by 7 or 8 goals. 1) They'll be like a wounded animal after their 0-6 mauling at Bolton, and desperate to react(the same won't apply to us after our thrashing last night).
2) There'll be a new manager bounce, even if he's not in place before the game.
3) They're at home, in front of a massive fanatical crowd.
4) They've already cruised past us 3-0 at the Keepmoat, without getting out of second gear.
5) They're our biggest bogey team in League 1. In the last 3 years we've played them 7 times; they've won 5, and the other 2 were draws.
-
Jones
Knoyle younger Olowu Jackson
Galbraith smith
Mipo rowe Martin
Griffiths
Need to be a lot of changes from yesterday and need to start on the front foot like we did against Plymouth. Sunderland are also coming off the back of a hammering so even tho they have sacked their manager and their fans will be up for it due to the return of Defoe and the donations to the bradley Lowery foundation, if we get off to a good start and maybe an early goal then the mood around the ground will change and u never know.
Jones should come back in because Mitchell had a mare last night (was at fault for at least 3 of the goals) and don’t think jones should’ve been dropped in the first place. Horton is really shaky defensively and his poor touch lead to their second goal so think it’s time for Jackson to come in. Galbraith improved the team when he came on yesterday and looked to carry the ball forward, he should come in for Clayton. Martin was another one where I didn’t understand him being dropped as he has been brilliant since signing. Reo looked decent when he came on yesterday but it’s just whether he is ready to start or not yet, if not then agard or Dodoo will start.
Can’t see anything other than a defeat with their home record but the first goal is massive.
-
I dread to think what score we’ll lose this one by.
I’m interested to see what McSheffrey has learnt from last night and also what line-up and set up he opts for.
-
Louis back in for me, get off his back we've had far worse. Galbraith hopefully fit to start, Josh Martin in.
Let's just hope we have a go & get back to trying to play football at least, we bottled it last night even though they were always gonna beat us.
Weekend away for me, worst case I'll drink it away by 8 o'clock, best case I'll have the geordies singing with me by then.
-
Just seen on Twitter that Sunderland have offered Roy Keane the managerial role after productive talks today.
Announcement set to be made on Friday apparently.
-
If we have a shot on target at Sunderland I will be surprised, also Defoe could play with both his boot places tied together and still get a hat trick past our keepers so dread to think what score it will be.
-
They have scored in every single home league game bar one. They have also scored 5 at home on three separate occasions this season - against Cheltenham, Sheff Weds and Morecambe.
-
Tough game the same as the MK Dons looked before hand and look what happened there.
-
Things stacking up against us, a team smarting from their last result, a good home record, new men in charge for the game and us having just been completely outclassed, and apart from a win 60 odd years ago in a cup shock and a solitary point gained in all our league fixtures in the past up there, we have been well beaten even when we have had a good team.
A surprise 2-1 win then.
-
I’d like to think Sunderland won’t be the only team on that pitch tomorrow smarting from a recent hammering either.
-
Chin up, back straight, balls tucked in. We'll do these tomorrow.
-
They've won 11 at home. The most in the league. They have conceded fewest at home in the league with 9 and have the second highest goals for tally in the league on 31.
Us meanwhile have a grand total of 4 points from 14 away games and have scored 8. Let in 33.
If Sunderland don't score at least 4 in front of 30 odd thousand partizan mackems, then it will be the biggest surprise since we beat MK a few weeks ago. Which was a shock of epic proportions.
Hope the fans travelling though have a safe journey and enjoy the day out regardless of result. I suspect some will be going to the SOL for the first time which will be some experience for them.

As someone who has only seen one live game and one televised game this year I am asking those who go weekly has there been any kind of improvement/development that can give us any hope of a result

Phil, with the exception of the Rotherham game we have had more attacking intent and effect than at any time under RW.
-
Rovers are 10/1 to win tomorrow so I’ve got them in a 50p Lucky 15 , with Carlisle,Colchester,Stevenage

10/1 that could be the score not the odds
-
Have they appointed a manager yet?
-
With the Defoe signing and already nearly 37k tickets sold, their home form I would take a 3 0 loss now and move on to the next game
-
I hope we put our b*llocks into it tomorrow and upset the apple cart. Spoil the party.
-
My money is on a win for us, won in the MK game, lost the Rotherham one. Tactically he has to come up with something to keep us in the game. Not all out defence but a good solid team, hard to beat with a goal threat.
I had a tactical masterclass  of how we should play, luckily for you the page timed out and I lost the encyclopaedia I had written haha. No way I’m writing that out again :facepalm.
It was basically playing a sweeper system, with Knoyle sweeping up. R-Williams/Younger cb . Seaman/Martin wing backs. Two holding midfielders Clayton/Olowu. Rowe in front. Odubeko/Griffiths leading the line and harassing the Sunderland back line into mistakes.
-
We have scored 2 goals in league games away at Sunderland in our entire history.
Our all time league record against Sunderland does not look too healthy. Played 9, won 0, drawn 2, lost 7. We’ve managed two goals away from home and 2 goals at home.
-
Gonna be a good day with a great atmosphere, dont really care about the score, put in a decent shift and you never know, might pull of a shock win.
Ps, don’t forget your waterproofs, gonna be a soggy day, wander how many tickets we’ve sold.
-
If anyone is wanting a ticket Retford Rover has mine as I can’t make it now due unforeseen circumstances, I’ve told him to get what he can for it and donate the money to the supporters club.
-
Anyone keeping the faith and backing Rovers to win
-
Best chance is to take the lead and hang on for dear life ala MK. If we go a goal down. It's game over.
I keep saying it now each week but we are due a penalty. Come on ref!!
-
+5.5 goals will land me £235, so I’m looking for a 4-2 win for the Rovers.
I’m in A&E waiting for a doc to check me over after suffering a nasty bump to the head.
Did Ken & Deirdre get back together?
-
Sunderland to win by 3 or more goals is 5/2 ,they will come out flying after last week's result
-
Kiddy 1 up at home to West Ham and Plymouth 1 up at Chelsea.
I don't know why we can't compete in this manner against the better sides in our league. Getting smashed off the park for the most part, save MK Dons.
-
Kidderminster playing very well, getting stuck in. Entertaining game.
-
First time poster here even though ive been reading this forum for the past couple of months. What do I want to see in the sunderland game? Well, the opposite of what I saw in the first half at the keepmoat the other night. Hopefully we can string a few passes together, try and keep the ball on the floor, maybe even a couple of corners and a shot or two. I'm not expecting anything special and I think we'll lose but I just want to see fight and grit and determination and the beginning of a coherent team that as the games go on will be more used to playing together. Like most on here I've accepted we're going to be relegated this season and like many have already said, I want us to build momentum, get some decent results behind us that can take us forward in to next season. Finally, safe journey to the fans travelling up there today, I'll be watching on the ifollow from behind me settee.
-
ifollow? Today? Thought it was just audio?
-
My mistake looks like ill be watching steff jelling instead.

Mitchell starts again.
Knoyle dropped. Ro Shaun back in
Jackson starts. :scarf:
Seaman starts. :suicide: :suicide:
Martin starts. :woohoo: :woohoo: :scarf: :scarf:
Dodoo dropped. HALLELUJAH! :woohoo:
Agard on bench. :suicide: :suicide:
In short. We're in for a battering but might score. I'll go 5-1 to the black cats.
-
Roy Keane is making his mind up to be their next manager. He’s looking at their attacking ability today
-
Sunderland fans are playing hell up at their line up on Twitter.
Not a lot to go on but it's something.
-
Defoe on the bench. Can't decide whether that's a good thing or a bad thing given the way we caved in against Rotherham.
-

Maybe they think they can get the job done against such a shite side as us and then bring on the big guns if this doesn't happen as planned.

Looks as though we have gone 5-3-2
-
Knoyle recovering from illness. No word on Galbraith yet.

I tend to agree Padge. He has had the odd good game but he is so one footed it’s a detriment to his game. The amount of times he ends up going sideways across the pitch to a dead end because he doesn’t seem to either want, or be able to use his left foot. It’s so frustrating. He clearly has talent to play at international level but he is holding himself back

Have to begrudgingly agree. It doesn't help that he's alongside other diminutive middle men such as Smith etc but yes, not been that good for a while now. Thought he did well at Cambridge though for the most part, until their third at the death.

My mate does too. He does something like registering from another country or summat like that. Don't quite understand it but he gets every game live but goes to nearly all home games.

MY GOD!! 1-0 UP!! HAHAHA. HOW?!!
-
Josh martin setting up Reo. A striker who can actually come in and score! Well done lad!!
-
Disgrace Martin was on the bench Tuesday.
-
I wonder what our chances are of keeping Martin for next season. Really impressed with him.
-

Probably because we have such crap manager. ;)
I really hope and I do think GM will prove you wrong.
-
Disgrace Martin was on the bench Tuesday.
Absolutely. Our only creative player. At least GM acknowledged this and rectified it today.
-
2 nil wow
-
Brilliant 2-0
Come on let’s get that 1st ever league win against Sunderland.
-
You just couldn’t make it up !!!
-
Absolutely total fair play to GM so far. Made some questionable changes and selections again IMO but he is brave enough to make them and he should get the plaudits when it goes right. Only half time of course but so pleased for the travelling Rovers more than anything just to have something to cheer about and rub the mackems noses in it.
Keep it tight second half and a job very well done from GM and the players today. :scarf:
-
Keep playing how we are & don’t drop deep. Another 20 minutes with a clean sheet & Sunderland fans will really get on their players backs. Booed them off at half time.
-
Any news on how Mitchell is doing today? Obviously he hasn't conceded but overall game? Shots saved? Crosses taken etc?
-
Bizarre management from the Sunderland caretaker boss. Two down and only made one sub on 61 despite having Defoe on the bench. Haha what a knob.
-
Any news on how Mitchell is doing today? Obviously he hasn't conceded but overall game? Shots saved? Crosses taken etc?
Made two brilliant saves.

His management of time is brilliant too, going down, killing the game, loved when he went down injured to kill the game a bit, knowing he doesn’t need to go off.
Really impressed with his street smarts

Cheers hound. Will do him the world of good keeping a clean sheet today and i'd have gone with Jones and been completely wrong so credit to GM. He must have been under pressure to pick Jones and if Mitchell had a shocker today, GM would have got it in the neck from some fans, including myself so full credit to GM for making the right call thus far and giving Mitchell the chance to redeem himself and prove himself which i'm sure Mitchell will get a lot of confidence from. Keep it tight just a bit longer !

38,395 today. When was the last time we played in front of a crowd that size? Wembley?
-
1-2
Hang on lads please.
-
38,395 today. When was the last time we played in front of a crowd that size? Wembley?
Arsenal away in the cup maybe, or West Ham.
-
:scarf: :scarf: :scarf: points on the board. Thats some performance, belief is back.
-
Speechless.
Just a pub team having a laugh.
Ipswich next.
-

So about 38000 very unhappy supporters . Lol.
-
Brilliant result. What a confidence booster that should be.
Have to win v Ipswich and Pompey and we can believe in the miracle.
I know we are 99% down but it’s that 1% that kills you.
-
What are they saying on the Sunderland forum?...
It's Doncaster at home. It's a shameful unmitigated disaster without reprieve.
Hoho.
-
38,395 today. When was the last time we played in front of a crowd that size? Wembley?

That Arsenal game was tiny. I think it is still their lowest ever competitive gate. We’ve only played West Ham with a gate, at the old place which didn’t hold 39,000.
-
Easily the best moment of the season. Enjoy it.
-
However poor their form might be or that they are without a manager, we have beaten the side with the best home record in the league. That in any season is a superb result.
-
First time in our history beating Sunderland and what a bloody time to do it as well! Not the prettiest performance but a dogged one that seen us ground out a win, back to back away wins for the first time in as long as I can remember
The lads made up for Tuesday, 3 points on the board and 3 more to getting out of this mess….. let’s keep up the hard work.
Credit to GMS today. Got it spot on.
How there ghost goal that went over the line was never given I don’t know! But we will take it!
-

I'm just staggered that they brought in Defoe and 1. Didn't start with him and 2. Took 70 odd minutes at 2-0 down to finally bring him on! Suited us massively but makes you wonder what some people are thinking. I'm sure the majority of fans would agree that if you have a fit or partially fit Defoe in your squad in L1, you put him in the 11!

Yeah, i forgot that the last West Ham game was behind closed doors but thought that there were about 40,000 at the Emirates.

Come on lads, get to 3rd bottom soon then we can see what we need for the Great Escape.

Enjoyed watching that ,we played well had a bit of luck but we deserved it ,we looked more organized and had a game plan

Almost. We beat them 2-0 at Roker Park in the FA Cup in 1954. First league win full stop. Home or away.

With the goal difference we are 9 points from safety, with performance today there is hope we can get out of it

I’ve checked and you are right Hound. It was 44,000 in the 2017 EFL Cup game. I was right though, in that it was their lowest ever gate at the Emirates.
-

It’s slightly better, at 8 points. Some clubs have games in hand though.
-
Brilliant result and performance. Particularly on the back of Tuesdays heavy defeat.
Full marks to GM and the squad for not letting that affect them.
Sounds like Mitchell had a great game which tells us we should judge a book from the first page.
In Reo maybe we have unearthed someone who relishes scoring goals.
Hopefully, we've found the formula and need to stick to it. This is the new benchmark.
-

and we play Wimbledon in a few weeks. dare to dream?

Well.... I *almost* posted yesterday that the most Rovers thing to do would be to go there and win and put on a brilliant performance. But I thought it too outrageous to dare think about it.
There was nothing lucky about that win. It wasn't a smash and grab. What I saw today was a team together, working really hard for each other, with a game plan and absolute discipline. From back to front, Rovers were outstanding today. Mitchell didn't put a foot wrong - excellent command and made the saves he needed to. The back three of Willaims, Oluwu and Younger were resolute and really well-organized. Matt Smith just gets better. He and Rowe chased everything. We won more second balls today than I've seen in ages. Charlie Seaman is some player, by the way. I've been impressed by him from day one and I hope he's tied to a decent length contract. Rowe was superb today. Here. There. Every-f**king-where.... The new left back - streets ahead of Horton. Night and day. Sorry Brandon.
And the front three were fantastic. Reo took his goal well but all three tracked back and got stuck in. Martin is a great asset in that free role. He made things happen today. Still a bit lightweight at times and needs quicker decision making but he's some player.
Hard to pick a MOM from a great team performance but I have to choose Mitchell - after Tuesday, what a way to come back.
We kick on from that I hope. Massive credit to Gary, Frank and Glyn Hodges - excellent stuff.
I think, in 47 years watching Rovers, given the circumstances, the injuries, the number of new players brought in, that's in my top 10 games.
-

It's as good as 9 points with the goal difference, CBCB. We'll never make that amount up.

Thanks for that great summary. Good to hear.
Similar reflection from Hoden too.
"And that was something very special
A Doncaster Rovers side that could not buy a win on the road has just picked up a quite magnificent victory over Sunderland.
And, as was the case at MK Dons in their previous away game, it was down to a tremendous workrate, quality game management, ruthless finishing and more than a little slice of luck.
To a man, Rovers were excellent this afternoon, with several players emphatically answering critics.
Magnificent"
-
Only downer is walked by bookies today and going in for a 2-1 Win then thought better of it. Might almost put a bet on Tuesday then
-
Great result. Let's hope it marks the start of a bright future and isn't merely a rather isolated bright spark in a period of gloom.
-
With the goal difference we are 9 points from safety, with performance today there is hope we can get out of it
It’s slightly better, at 8 points. Some clubs have games in hand though.
It's as good as 9 points with the goal difference, CBCB. We'll never make that amount up.
A proper ray of sunshine, as ever.
What the f*ck are you talking about? I'm not moaning, I'm quoting facts.
Get off your high horse.

PDX_Rover, thanks for a great post. Great to hear.
-
Anyone know roughly how many were in the away end today?
-
Amazing result, just what we all needed to give us a slight bit of hope going into the rest of the season.
I still think we are down but stranger things have happened and if we can play like that for the rest of the season who knows!

Well done to all those who went today. How many did go, do you know?

Not me! Missed Tuesday and today thanks to covid. Delighted to miss Tuesday, today not so much.
-
That was wonderful and so unexpected after the depths of Tuesday. Agree that’s it’s right up there with my favourite Rovers games
-
We’ve beaten the third (MK Dons) and fourth (Sunderland) placed teams in the space of two weeks.

Ah no! That's bad luck for you BFYP. Well, at least it was today. Not tuesday though. Hope you are doing ok with the old Covaids and can make it tuesday and see a win.

Both away.
Book tickets to Pompey now. Lol.
-
There cannot be many sides that we have as good an away record against. Last five league away games at Fratton Park has delivered 3 wins and 2 draws. We haven’t lost there since 2011.
-
Look out for Donny's results every week, delighted for the club, the manager and the players with this win today.
Lets hope that's the first of a number of good results and points on the board between now and the end of the season.
Absolutely delighted.

38,395 today. When was the last time we played in front of a crowd that size? Wembley?
Arsenal away in the cup maybe, or West Ham.
That Arsenal game was tiny. I think it is still their lowest ever competitive gate. We’ve only played West Ham with a gate, at the old place which didn’t hold 39,000.
Yeah, i forgot that the last West Ham game was behind closed doors but thought that there were about 40,000 at the Emirates.
I think that low attendance was beaten , but Arsenal won't admit it.
"Arsenal are thought to have attracted the lowest crowd in the Emirates Stadium’s 13-year history last night with just 25,000 estimated to have attended their UEFA Europa League 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The club itself reported an official attendance of 49,419 at the 60,000-capacity stadium. However, The Times newspaper claims the actual attendance was around 25,000 – marking the lowest number through the gate since the opening of the venue in 2006."

600 there today.

600 that’s far more than I thought we would take. Brilliant. That’s a fantastic effort seeing we are bottom and on the back of a 5-0 home defeat.

We’ve played them in L2 as well, in fact we let them win it

Some gracious comments from the mackems on their forums:
'Donny did what they came to do. They weren't intimidated by the crowd, or the Defoe hype, did their job and used the home crowd against us. Can't knock them, fair do's. I actually hope they survive....'
'I have to say well done to Doncaster. 2-1 flattered us'
-
Fantastic result, now let’s build on it.

Oh yes tried to forget that. ;)

Our problem has been that though, building on it. Wins are like the few remaining shops open on Hallgate. Surrounded by dross and despair. Hope we can change this!

Funny you should say this. I had to visit Donny again a few years back, first time for many a year, and go to a solicitors up Hallgate. I was shocked. From where Mothercare used to be and the Danum hotel there were pawnbrokers and all sorts of shite. Looked and felt like a right dump. Take it it hasn't improved then?
-
Things stacking up against us, a team smarting from their last result, a good home record, new men in charge for the game and us having just been completely outclassed, and apart from a win 60 odd years ago in a cup shock and a solitary point gained in all our league fixtures in the past up there, we have been well beaten even when we have had a good team.
A surprise 2-1 win then.
GENIUS!!

PDX,
I see football is getting more popular in California, I saw a thing about LAFC. Quite a raucous support they have, with a Latin American vibe going on. The Galaxy traffiico derby looks to be becoming a thing.
I was thinking it would be most typically Rovers to stay up on the last game of the season but that would be ridiculous to expect. Actually going down in heartbreaking fashion on the last day of the season would also be a typically Rovers thing too.

Same here. I feel sorry for Horton though but he just can't defend. I actually think he's better as a forward!

No mention of Ro Shaun Williams who according to Hoden had his best game yet and considering he's just back from injury, he's done well and to last the full 90.
I was concerned with Knoyle having to sit out but the whole back 5 including Jackson and Younger at full backs have done us proud.
We all know in sport, the mentality can change with players beginning to perform and believing in what they're doing.
Another step towards turning the ship around.
-
Williams has been very suspect all season, so if he had a good game today against excellent opposition, this can only be a good sign.
-
Williams was solid in the middle of a back 3, had plenty of cover and support, the back 3 worked really well today. Against a pretty static attack force mind, but you can only play what’s in front of you.
I’ve been a critic of Williams to date, but today with good support he had a good game. It can only benefit us for him to improve on this to keep his shirt because he’s going to have Anderson to contend with in a matter of weeks
-
Some players will never be praised, every side in the land has its whipping boy for that clubs fans. Ro-Williams for some will always get that criticism. I don’t think anybody in the side had a bad game, otherwise we couldn’t have won the game today. A really good team effort.
-
Brilliant result. What a confidence booster that should be.
Have to win v Ipswich and Pompey and we can believe in the miracle.
I know we are 99% down but it’s that 1% that kills you.
We don’t need to win both those games to stay up,
There’s a long way to go and if we can get another 6 points from the next 4 games we’ve done remarkable in the 8 very tough games we’ve had
-
I think Knoyle needed a break to be kind to him. I don't think he's shown much this season. Grafts but i don't realise he's playing most of the time. I seemed to notice him a lot more early in the season when he used to make frequent forays forward but now just stays put and goes about things quietly. Which isn't a bad thing but he's been lightweight for much of the season IMO.
Hopefully he can return to the side and be a bit more like the Knoyle i thought we had signed.
-
Thank you Bob, Think How Steve is being seven goals out in his prediction.
Rovers 2 Ipswich 0 my neck on the line again.

Eight out, actually Brian. I didn't tip Rovers to score.

If you believe that you will believe anything lads.

Did anyone else call in at The Fans Museum, really puts it into perspective how mad they are on their football up there. Excellent place that I fully recommend for when we go there next season
