Despite the injuries last week that still looks a fairly strong XI.
-
Rowe to left back then
-
Not sure how I feel about Rowe as left back when Maxwell in on the bench. Unless he’s got a knock you’d think the higher up the pitch Rowe plays the better.
Big chance for Faulkner too
-
Tactical, surely. Where does Northampton’s top scorer, Hoskins, play?

Maxwell struggled vs Salford, Tommy shored that side up.
It will be an option, depending how they see the game going, to revert back.
-
Will be tactical. And he can help Bobby through the game too.
-
I would have thought that Rowe is his “big game” LB selection from now.
Good line up.
-
Northampton humungous favourites on Bet365, can't really see the logic given the almost identical starts so far.
-
No Andrews on the bench either.
-
Come on Donny !!!
-
The away kit looks s**t 'ot on tele!
-
Rovers have started briskly. Mitchell getting booed by the Northampton crowd.

We look like we are advertising Rington’s Tea
-
Let’s hope that we aren’t Northamptons cup of tea this afternoon then.
-
Hoskins booked after a bad foul on Biggins.
-

Good line up.
Maybe the option when a more Physical LB choice is wanted.
How is young Faulkner doing?

Could have been booked early on but otherwise holding his own

Thanks DVR

Rovers the better team, playing some good stuff at times, without many clear-cut chances. Faulkner I think has been very strong so far. Miller chasing everything but not really got into the game. Tomlin and Clayton can orchestrate things in the middle but defensively both slow, so we're liable to runs through the middle.
-
Omar Bogle has two more for Newport today, he's definitely found his level.
-
0-0 fair reflection of the first half. 2 very inventive corners from us and another from Clayton that was going straight in and nearly caught Burge out. They’ve created next to nothing
-

And in other old boys news....Okenabirhie is on the bench for Cambridge.
-
Couple of scary moments from Mitchell, kicking along the ground straight to one of their players resulting in putting us under pressure at the back, and not coming to claim the ball till late, and having to clear the ball under challenge.
His kicking at times is dreadful, I'd love to know what % of his kicks go into touch, I just don't get it, if he's trying to find Hurst or Miller on the left, or any player for that fact, you'd think he'd practice and practice till he bloody well got it right!!
-
Just before HT the Northampton commentary team stated that there’s a lot of room for the home side to improve. Whereas Doncaster have been as good as they can be.
What an absolute nonsense statement
-

Good but he didn’t want to be here went in January to pick signing on fee the move to Newport for another signing on fee. League 2 was always his level if he could stay fit.

Wishful thinking statement

Spot on,Good at League two level, struggles in higher leagues.

Tomlin had a great chance but put it straight in the keepers arms, we’ve upped a gear Northampton haven’t
-
How was that goal disallowed?

Listening on Radio Sheff and that is just how it seems to be developing.
-
There’s been some strange decisions all game
-
Cancelling each other out at the moment, but Tomlin should have made it 0-1
-
How was that goal disallowed?
Commentator said Tomlin punched the ball into the net.
-
Penalty!!!
-
Pen to Rovers.
-
Pen
-
first viewing soft, seconding viewing, penalty
-
We are definitely getting better just need some of the wounded back to give us some more options off the bench
-
We're going to win this 1-0...the goal coming after 85 minutes of course
-
Tomlin brought down and appears to be injured by the challenge.
Rowe to take the pen.
-
Should have sent the Northampton player off, the ref has bottled it.
-
Rash callenge on Tomlin who is still down. Rowe to take the pen ?
-
Blew it.
-
Miller now to take it.
-
Get in.
-
Sorry 0-1
-
0-1
-
Goaallll
-
This might spark an otherwise boring game into life.
Play smart rovers
-
Blew it.
What made you say this?
-
Great run into the box by Tomlin that drew the foul for the pen.
-
Lee Tomlinson just made up for the sending off at Bradford winning the penalty. He’s playing very well too.
-
Subbed him before he could send him off, crap by the ref, he didn’t give the pen it was the lino who told him

Scratch that

Good performance today. Really solid, particularly this 2nd half.

DVR, if the referee was unable to make the decision, e.g. his sight is blocked, then the linesman made a great decision. The officials are there to work as a team…just saying!
-
Back pass now missed by the ref

Fully understand but he had clear sight
-
Sky moved from a penalty to a Rovers corner for some reason, I thought they had missed it RA
-
That explains it Barmby! You had me worried.

Is he Louis brother?

we've not come under pressure since the goal which is a good sign.

-
CiM I wouldn't say no pressure, but nothing that isn't being coped with at the moment.
-
Miller in one on one, denied by a great tackle by their defender.

I'm packing up to move house, have F1 and Soccer Saturday on two screens and this thread up in my phone along with Twitter. Fun afternoon!
-
Should be a goal for them.
6 mins added.
-
Living very dangerously.
-
Hylton misses a sitter of a header.
-
Idiots throwing the ball out of the ground, do they think time will not be added on? Northampton nearly scored, its geed them up!
-
Miller needed too much time to set up his shot there, good tackle though.
-
All over, well done Rovers.
-
3 away points, brilliant!

Agreed on both counts
-
Great result, so so pleased to take 3 points on the road.
-
Yess!!! FT 0-1
-
Good win against a side that was unbeaten well done to all concerned
-
Deserved on the second half performance
-
A great away win against an unbeaten team. Saw that out nicely in the end. Up to third in the league, early I know but a sure sign the team is progressing.
Onwards and upwards

Title winners!!!

Good work Rovers. Nice 3 points there and good support from those who travelled down.
-
Fair credit to the Northampton commentators on ifollow who were full of praise for us.

Great performance away from home, 3 wins on the bounce how long since that happened?
No way should Faulkner go out on loan, we have a gem in the making here

Great to see Clayton and Rowe's reaction ,at the end of the clip.

2 seasons ago we won 5 in a row - the sequence ending at Fleetwood in the match Balcombe took out Big Tom.

Looking at the highlights it is understandable why the ref might not have seen the foul clearly.

Andy, I wonder whether the Northampton commentary team were saying the same after the second half.
