Congratulations to them probably best team I saw this season
Poor old Bradford I’m sure Hughes will have someone to blame

And it was probably the best I seen us play this season when we beat them on new-year day.
How different our paths went after that day

Never a truer word Thorney

Should of been the catalyst for us to kick on, and it should of showed the manager that we could actually play a bit if allowed ro get the ball forward quicker, but no he wouldn't let that happen.
At one point I thought it was like watching barasi bringing the ball out of defence and not ro-shaun
-
I see Brad Halliday set Carlisle on their way with an og.

Just seen a comment on Twitter from a Bradford.m fan about Clayton;
“Too slow and can’t run”
We tried to tell you!’

He’s been ok for them as he was ok for us.

Bradford fan who works for me says Clayton has been outstanding for them
-
I actually thought they were one of the worst teams to visit the eco power this season. Can’t believe how much space they gave us

I’m aware he has done ok for them.
This doesn’t change my opinion he’s slow and cant run and that the Bradford fan I’m referring to mentioned this too.

Promotion was a must for Bradford this season. Not difficult to see it all falling apart very quickly.

The idea in the Bradford team was that other players had the legs and he sat deep and used the ball.
It worked in most games and he fitted in well.

Carlisle are the best of the 4 play off teams. I hope they (& think they will) beat Stockport.

Bradford and Mark Hughes are a step behind us and many others now in thinking you can get away with having a slow and leggy midfield in this league.

I can see he would control matches if the rest of the side is set up to protect him and give him space.
It worked for about 4 matches for us this season. Then the opposition realised that if you play an aggressive press, he didn't have the physical reaction time to play how he wanted and he was overwhelmed.
And with him playing as the deepest midfielder, god help us if we lost possession high up the field and the opposing team broke quickly. His only response was a foul and a booking because he was three yards slower than a breaking midfielder/striker.

Bang on Billy. Good guy and obviously a much better player in his prime but he looked ready to retire to me.
Idler they do have options with more legs but played him with Smallwood, another ageing midfielder. A club with those resources should be blowing the league away.

Clayton’s flaws are obvious given his age / previous wear and tear. However we’re a more solid and effective team with him in it than we were without him. Offloading him was fine if we’d had a more dynamic midfielder to come in and replace him. However we didn’t, so we ended up missing his leadership and experience.
-
We did have a more dynamic midfielder who replaced him.
Lakin.
He ended up having to play out of position because of injuries and loss of form from other players, then got a season-ender himself.
Admittedly there was a gap between losing one and signing the other.
-
If Clayton got booked early on as BST alluded to he was basically a passenger anyway
-
If Carlisle win the final it's going to make it an even tougher division than it is already next season.
Nothing against Carlisle as they're a good side and Simpson has done a great job, but I'd back Stockport to go again and strengthen next year with the financial backing they've got. Carlisle could go either way if they stay down.
You'd expect Bradford to be up there again, along with Wrexham, Notts Co., MK D*ns, and possibly Mansfield, Salford, Gillingham.
-
Whoever is in our league I fancy our chances much more than I did whilst watching theWalsall game
-
Bradford like many teams in this league were bang average last year footballing wise but they did have a stable, strong core who physically were stronger than us. We combatted that well under Mcsheffrey in very difficult circumstances and us fans loved it. Under Schofield we were soft and collapsed easily.
Look at those sides that made the top 7, physical, solid and not particularly spectacular. As we saw under Ferguson, get a half decent side together and you can get promotion quite comfortably. That has to be the aim this year.

Got booked v Rovers after 11 minutes and still ran the game...
-
Could have gone straight off and still run the show against us last season TBF
