He also treat Leeds top goalscorer like shite and practically firced him out and said he was useless and always persisted with Luke Varney ffs!

I don't agree that he'd keep us up... Uncommited, egotistical, Dinosaur who would have taken Leeds down if he'd have stayed.

I'D RATHER HAVE DICKOV!!!

He left because they didn't make the play offs (as promised). He got QPR up when all others failed, the Blades up and was firing with a low budget Palace but lets just focus on him not rating a striker eh

He was going to be sacked about 2 month into the season at Leeds... It was only the takeover that stopped this (part of the deal).

I'd rather rate him on his last job (with a much better squad than ours) than jobs before that. I haven;t just focused on him 'not rating a striker' either...

As opposed to Paul Tisdale who got his current team relegated and finished behind the might of Port Vale, Burton, Cheltenham & Northampton in the League? Hmmmm

Took them up from the CONF to L1 and kept them there for 2 season's on an absolutely miniscule budget. Playing nice football aswell as putting a big focus on the clubs youth.

He's done that while working well with a DoF too btw, which is a good sign if LFynn does indeed get that role.

As did Dave Penney - who was found wanting when the stakes got higher. Paul Tisdale has a nice safe little job with a lovely little club, why do you think he hasn't moved? Waiting for Donny Rovers!

He hasn't moved yet because he hasn't wanted to, that's the only reason why. He's had the opportunities to do so. While at Exeter he's turned down Swansea (x2) aswell as Southampton. Maybe now he'll be ready for a move?

Dave Penney did a fantastic job here, but let's not forget the money he had to spend! Paul Tisdale has worked on a netto budget and had big success relative to the money spent.

Tidsdale hasn't turned down Swansea and Southampton.
Much rather have Warnock with a proven record rather than someone who has done ok in the lower leagues, he hasn't pulled up any trees recently.
You can't have tidsdales record from 5 years ago as your arguement but only use warnocks record over the last 6 months

It's well known that JR and Warnock are good friends. It wouldn't be daft for JR to pick his brain before making the biggest decision of next season.

BIB - True, fair point.

Tisdale HAS turned down Swansea (twice - after Martinez left and Sousa) and Southampton (They got Adkins). He's got Exeter still competing (although they fell short this season) and it's testament to the job he is doing because their budget is still small... The can't even afford to keep their best players  past this season i dont think.

Is there any evidence of this? Or we just supposed to believe you?

You'll just have to believe me (i know you won;t, i'm not fussed about that). It did happen though. Swansea and Southampton fans will confirm that too.

I've got it!

Donnyroversfc got sent down last June. He didn't have internet access for 11 months and now he's back with a severe case of Internet Tourette's to work out of his system.

Explains it all...

I'll agree with you on that. Einstein had more personality.

So you knew Archimedes then? Running down the street bollock naked screaming at the top of his voice when he'd come up with a good idea doesn't count as being a bit of a personality?

You'll forgive me, I'm sure, if I decide not to get to know you personally. For this, among other reasons.

I suspect this is the best post in this thread.

I like Warnock, and I know JR is good friends with him, so it's believable if nothing else and I'd welcome it. However I do think Warnock is somewhat out of our price range.

And John's Happy to admit that?

No to Warnock. There are too many older managers just looking for a pay cheque, and ambitious. I would put Warnock in this catagory. He has nothing to prove, he's been there (PL) and done it. I would rather have a younger manager with some success as a manager on their Resume, but wants to prove themselves at a higher level. There are a number around who fit this spec. I'm sure JR would want someone who is post to improve both themselves (with support and guidance from BF) and Rovers.

If Neil Warnocck were to be appointed, I would be cancelling my four x season ticket direct debit.

" being young, ambitious and having not failed elsewhere"

That's what we need to go for.

Look. There's a red line in the sand for me. I am not supporting a club whose manager's dress sense us taken from Gilbert O'Sullivan c1969.

No ifs, no buts.
