Obviously the league tables don’t lie but there was some talent in the team.I was just about to post something similar, Herbert. That was a brilliant team that Stan Anderson put together, but never hit the heights apart from reaching the quarter-final of the League Cup, which came apart with that 7-2 defeat at Spurs, after such a brave fight. In the league, we just couldn't find the consistency needed to challenge.Yes through the 70’s and into the early 80’s we had some very good players including many young lads. With Stan’s team he had a mix of young players with some good experienced players. It was always a frustrating period because in those times we never progressed beyond div3, when many considered we had players to do so. However rather than adding a small number for the push, we were very much a selling team, and it always looked like we were selling cheaply just to get cash in the bank.
