I thought Marosi was excellent yesterday and has gotten better as the season and his number of appearances has gone along. Although he nearly did drop a b*llocks yesterday. In the first half a restart was kicked back to him only for the ball to go under his foot and almost into the goal. He was just able to stop it in time about a yard from the goal line, unlike Lawlor against Pompey. Other than that he had an excellent game.

I think Marosi is turning into a top keeper at this level. If he didn't make those mistakes, he wouldn't be at this level.

One point on him though, he must be pretty strong mentally. With everything that happened in that game away at Rotherham with him giving the penalty away, and also playing a role in the injury to Anderson (Not saying that was his fault but he was involved in the incident) he could quite easily have gone into his shell and gone to pieces, similar to Etheridge.

But fair play to him stepping up and it sounds like he kept us in it at time yesterday.

Agree about strong mentally because he's often out the side for a long while and when he comes in it's like he's always been there which is a big thing for keepers to be able to do, they can't afford to be rusty like! we'll see if Lawlor has it in him too when he next plays

It might be might be my imagination - a complete psychological load of horse shite so to speak - but he also looks physically bigger.

I’m sure he’s matured physically. Half his problem last year was that he was so frail. He was carried off twice after innocuous falls and he never used to look like he could handle the physicality.

He looks like a different player now and we might just have got a good ‘un.

Everyone know I've always been a fan of Marosi over Lawlor and was calling for him to start games much sooner than he did.Lawlor is okay but for me he just doesn't command his box well enough and his positioning isn't good enough which is surprising to say he has spent his career learning from the best coaches money can buy at Man City. And it cant just be coincidence that weve improved at the back since Marosi came in..

You would think  Marosi has surely cemented his place as no1 now..although in truth it wouldn't shock me if Lawlor starts next year as no1,I don't get the feeling that DF sees Marosi as his long term keeper..

It's a tough one because from what I've seen of Lawlor he does seem to be the one with the most potential out of the two and I do believe he'll go on to have a great career. As for Marosi, he's turning into a very good keeper for this division. Will he play higher? Happy to be proved wrong but can't see it.

They always say the good sides have a good spine down the centre, with Marquis, the centre halves, and two decent goalkeepers, we are in a better place than we have been for a long time.
Like the centre half position, Marosi is the guy with the shirt, and has done very well, and it's his while he keeps his form up.

Interesting post and one I've seen a few times mate so it's a common opinion...Just one I cant understand..Why do people think he has more potential than Marosi??..Marosi has more presence,is more commanding in the box and imo has much better reactions than Lawlor..The only thing I wasn't sure about was his distribution but that's much better now..
So what are the reasons that people actually think makes Lawlor a better prospect ???

One was bought from Manchester City and the other released by Wigan Athletic, I'd imagine.
