Watched him a few times with the youth team, he looked a man amongst boys, his step up to playing mens football he seems to have taken in his stride

Bostock was a progressive hook between the defence and creative players.
Tomlin is a creative hook between the midfield and forward line.
That’s the impression I was getting but without having seen Tomlin play, I wondered if (given that Gary Mc appears to want to play a pressing game) he offers that ‘player to seek out for a pass’ in order to be able to ‘dictate’ play. Much in the way that Tommy Rowe was (in a very poor side) or attempted to be last season.

On the subject of Tomlin, he gave a very warm applause to the fans as he was subbed, and I think the fact he took the penalty speaks volumes. I fully expect we will be offering him a deal, if indeed we haven’t already done so.

We would be stupid not to, depending on the terms being right though. A years contract in my opinion.

And the cynic in me says we’ll sign him on an 18 mth deal only to see him keel over in his first game with a season-ending injury!

I think we more than had our quota of bad luck with injuries, we are due good luck now.

A year would be sensible for TOMLIN and the lad from rangers maybe a year with an option of another year or a straight two year deal.

Think we will end up signing 3 trialists and possibly another couple of loanees before the season starts

On Faulkner he looks to have a lot of potential. It’s hard when signing players for a manager, he has to look after his job by signing the best he can, while not blocking the way of very good youth players.
If he isn’t going to start, there is no point Faulkner sitting on the bench watching, he needs regular games to see just how good he can be. Whatever they do, don’t let this lad go as he could be very good in the near future. I would loan him no lower than Conference North. He won’t learn much if he’s too low down.
