Sunday morning, still sick as a parrot
« on May 12, 2024, 10:31:39 am by TonySoprano »
Just the thought of another season in this shite league.

Bromley
Harrogate
Gillingham
Accrington
Barrow
Colchester
Crewe or crawley
Morecombe
Newport
Salford
Franchise
Fleetwood
Cheltenham
Port Vale

We got a get out of jail free card and somehow lost it

Sides that came down are not especially strong. Decent but not strong. Think it’s an ok competitive mix for us next season. Just need to continue to hope bigger clubs like Bradford and MK Stolen don’t get their act together.

Correct, they’ve got a bigger stadium that’s about it

“Bigger” not “bigger than us”.

Last season their total wage bill was £5.7m. They spend materially more than we spend.

Size of club is all about history and heritage - Franchise have still got Dean Lewington on their books who at 40 year old is twice the age of Franchise FC themselves. So if you use the metric of history and heritage to determine size of club they must be classed as the smallest club in the league.

A bit arrogant to look down on other clubs. Yes it hurts like f**k but we’re all here on merit at the end of the day.

We need to stay grounded and focused as I am sure Grant, Cliff and whoever the squad is will be, and we go again.

I’m hurting a lot at the manner in which we went out, especially in light of the refereeing, but it’s done. I’m already excited for next season.

RTID.

Spot on PDX. It hurts not escaping this league, but we are here because we deserve to be, and shouldn't look down on teams no better or worse than we are. If this is a sh1te league and all those teams are sh1te, aren't we also?

If we can’t beat a very poor Crewe team over 2 legs then we deserve to be apart of the very decent clubs listed above.
After their fantastic performances and result v MK there will be very sick Parrots in Crawley if they end up with the Division 4 bunch as listed.

I was the only one stupid enough to regularly post on PVO "Doncaster Rovers Playoff Winners 2023-24" because I never doubted for one moment we would do it. If we can start next season where we left off this season we should be posting plenty of "Wins". Bring it on.

Only the Retained List to wait for now.

This was after you were saying we were destined for relegation? You really ought to read your older posts

It wasn't intended to be arrogant, it's just we're lightyears ahead of those clubs in terms of fan base, stadium, history etc.
They aren't our peers anymore, simple as.

We're on the level of Peterborough, Lincoln, Barnsley, Rotherham, Blackpool, Wigan, Huddersfield.

Not to mention most of the teams in league 2 are footballing backwaters.
Unlike South Yorkshire which is a hotbed for football.

It's just what it is, it's not meant as a disrespect towards league 2 clubs.

We're here on merit, and deserve to be, but doesn't mean we should like it .

Yep, I’m still in the doldrums about getting done by Cynical Crewe but am a little bit consoled by knowing I saw the ten wins in a row.
Almost 80 years since the last time that happened.
Will it ever happen again?
I have enjoyed the ride since February and agree with the post that someone put on about enjoying the journey.

It will happen again next season on our way to the title.
