There’s as many saying two clear yellows as there are saying second challenge never a yellow in a million years. Were you all at the same game? Next question is - why were there no further sets of 2 yellow’s? MKD seemed to be doing just as much fouling, according to the stats (Moly incident mentioned already).
Imho, the answer is straightforward - the refs are consistent, consistently sh1t at this level. And they want respect? Do me a favour!

I agree that there are far far far too many Refs who give a Yellow and then try ANYTHING not to give a Second Yellow. IF an offence is a Yellow Card in the first ten seconds then they should give a Yellow

Then if any subsequent fouls are deemed to also be a Yellow that too should be given as a Yellow followed by a Red because the Individual Player is cheating and by not giving a Second Yellow they are handing free hits , fouls , holds and time wasting opportunities to that Player

99% of the time this second Yellow is being avoided by the Refs and its about time the Assessors got on their case. I remember last Season I am sure at home. We were being persistently clogged and a Player on a Yellow went through one of our Players right in front of the Dug outs but instead of producing a Second Yellow the Ref (and he knew he was doing this) waited with the injured Player before stalking upfield and imo deliberately choosing the wrong Player and read him the riot act and I think a Yellow which he didnt protest about

Tying in with the Title "In all my years" Ive never seen anything like that

Whether the second is a yellow or not, isn’t really the point, to an extent. Clifton gave the referee a decision to make which should never have been presented so soon after a booking. Utterly amateurish and he’s single handedly undone a whole week’s worth of work and preparation inside 9 mins. In the end we got a draw, but that’s not really the point is it.

For me, the jury is still out on him. He’s a down grade on biggins in my opinion. Grimsby fans didn’t kick up too much of a fuss when he joined us, which probably says all you need to know.

Was it a tackle worth ‘chancing’ in that section of the pitch minutes after you’ve received a yellow?

Clifton let his teammates & travelling supporters down today with a couple of Sunday League ‘tackles’.

I'd have him in the next match available playing in exactly the same manner(bar the bookings)

He demonstrates the type of tempo and aggression that we want our side to show every week,.

He'll be near the top of player of the season by the end of the year.

I’d never choose tempo over skill, ability, vision, technique, pace or desire.

And as a consequence, Clifton is proving that, out of our eight midfielders, he’s eighth best at the moment. Loose passing, crap first touch. Often chasing play. But shows ‘tempo’… or a lack of composure and rushed decision making as I see it.  Player of the season?! He needs to do a lot in the remaining games.

None would ever choose to not have skill, ability, vision, technique, and pace in their side.

However if you lack the application of any of the above then you are a siting duck. When this happens you had better hope you have players with tempo and aggression, because otherwise you are going to get hammered by the other side with the afore mentioned attributes.

Yesterday after Clifton got sent off we struggled against a quite mediocre side because we lacked the application of tempo and aggression to go with our  skill, ability, vision, and technique players.

When they got their player sent off and we regrouped with our re-organisation guess what got us back into the game, yes it was tempo and aggression from players like Olowu and McGrath

Pace unfortunately is a rare commodity in our club so we don't base our game around it.

Well done Oliver Man City v Arse for defying what I posted above .

He gave a Yellow and then a few Mins later dished a 2nd out to Trossard for booting ball away

Most Refs would have found a compromise so hats off for that Oliver but overall you were still s+++
