He played all his games for us at League One level.
OK then. Let's look at Okenabirhie's League 2 and lower record.

P 233 games
Scored 49 goals
= 1 goal every 4.75 games.

Okenabirhie v Ironside: goal stats:

Okenabirhie:

44 appearances 13 goals ( 1 goal every 3.38 games) For Rovers

Ironside:

62 appearances 22 goals (1 goal every 2.81 games) For Rovers

Entire career:

Okenabirhie:

Played 277
goals 62
Av = 1 goal every 4.46 games.

Ironside:

Played 439
goals 129
Av = 1 goal every 3.40 games

Compare games they've both played up front. Fej has played half of his career at left wing. Otherwise you might aswell compare Olowu to Sharp.

Olowu and Sharp.
That’s a bit of an oddball comparison.
Surely Sharp and maybe Gibson, or Mols, might be better.

I wouldn't expect Olowu to score as many goals as Sharp if he played up front, so I'm not comparing them. You are!

If you think Fej is a better striker than Ironside that is your prerogative.

I've merely provided the stats.

You can’t compare any player with goals to appearances because a two minute sub appearance to help break up play counts as much as playing the full match. The main player over the last 20 years or so to “ suffer “ from this is Paul Heffernan

Yes a very talented family. I grew up with them in the 70s. Have memories seeing the brothers breakdancing in town on a sheet of lino with a ghetto blaster.
Son Jay is at Worksop Town, though a bad injury now. Erroll's a pretty decent cyclist now as well and we often gets out and about on the bikes. Lovely family.

I worked with Sharon for a couple of years 20 years back, always fiercely proud of her family.

Erroll Rollins is just a brilliant drummer who continues to have an amazing career in music, he and his siblings Winston and Dennis are well
known up and down the country
performing with some star names out there.
My family, the Emmerson's along with the Rollins and the Carline's have been fortunate enough to have been blessed with the talent to be able to make music our chosen career path, and I'm fortunate enough to regard both of those families as friends.

I remember the Jeff carline group, very good in the early eighties.

I'm sad enough to have paid thousands of Yen to import 3 copies of an Uncool Danceband Greatest Hits CD from Japan.
Worth it for the CD Booklet alone, which had lots of press cuttings of their rise from back in the day.
(They were about £12 each in English money, including postage from Japan)!!
I also bought a vinyl copy from the USA but flogged it when times were tight. (Japanese vinyl pressing and was very heavy, great quality vinyl).
There is a German 7" vinyl edition of 'Jacqueline' with an awful picture cover that sells for £200!
Ok, I'm back off up my nerd tree now.

Coming back to Fej, if you’ve watched football all your life and you did not recognise him as a natural finisher your judgement operates to an abnormal standard.

Sorry, but he's a nice guy, but he was no where near the level we needed at the time.

Ironside is lightyears ahead of fej.

Yeah, he was obviously miles off the required standard because in his first 12 months our league record in L1 when he played was only (checks notes)

P29 W18 D5 L6 Pts59 PPG2.03

I know your a bit thick, but even you might be able to see those stats are despite him, and not because of him.

Just imagine how good they would have been if we had a better striker at the time.

Well. Makes you thing, doesn't it?

From Jan 2020 to Jan 2021, we had a shite manager an a centre forward (what was it?) "nowhere near the level required at the time". And we had one of the best 12 months in our entire history.

Maybe the conclusion is we should just choose ten players and tell them to make it up as they go?

Or maybe you're talking ba-baa again?

I'll have a think which is more likely and get back to you.

Thanks for that. It wasn't until years later that I heard he was big into the music scene.

He's had a very good career. You dont have to be well known to have a good career in music.

You'd be amazed how many unknown "session musicians"  earn a decent living out of music I know I did working for the BBC depping in the West End shows, various recordings  and with the cover band I played with. However loads don't you just really need that one job where you do a decent job depping your names remembered and word spreads your ok thats when the phone starts ringing. However make a hash of that one job and your names remembered also :)

People don’t even have to be musicians to make a good living from the music industry.
Many on here won’t be aware that 30 years ago I used to manage three Bananarama girls.
Obviously as I am in my seventies now, i can only manage one of them.

I hope that one is Keren Woodward, mate. A bit of a stunner she was.

I still think I might have a chance there.

Yes Filo! Jeff Carline was a member of The Uncool Dance band back in the 80's with Steve Bogart (vocals) Wayne Tyas (bass guitar) and Steve Maxwell (drums). Great band at the time and Jacqueline nearly got them the recording deal they deserved.
