I've never seen him so defeated, he looked a broken man..

I disagree. He's looked like this at some point of the last 3 seasons.

He looked utterly broken last season after the Walsall match at the start of April, when it really looked like the season was slipping out of our hands.

I'm no psychologist but I do sometimes wonder if he needs to touch the bottom to find some inspiration. Like I've said elsewhere, the fact that we went on possibly the greatest run in the club's history immediately after the dreadful performances at home to Stockport and away at Sutton is noteworthy.

And of course after that Walsall match, we won 17 of the remaining 21 points to clinch the title.

God knows who he is bringing in during the January window but he will look at the current weaknesses and surely conclude there is a centre back, central midfield and central striker priority there. Some other nice to have signings but at moment we're effectively an invertebrate.

Let’s turn this totally on its head eh ! Maybe this will give him and the board the time to consider both their approaches, namely will funds be available to keep us in this division and secondly give Grant and Cliff the licence to stop being loyal to some of their team and wield the axe ! Timing wise it’s absolutely perfect ! I’m hope Grant and the board both grasp the nettle and get busy !

Well things are panning out as they usually do for someone like myself who has been a supporter since 1973. We have never been able to get out of the doldrums finance is a big issue and we have never had a fairy god father rich enough and daft enough to chuck 10’s of millions at us in one bash. So we tread water with the likes of Crewe,Newport, Exeter,Stockport etc

What yesterday cried out for was leadership on the pitch. It’s something that we’ve been lacking all season, apart from Bailey (and, possibly, the never present Pearson).

I do wonder at times if this is GM’s blind spot. Can he handle the big personalities that are necessary to galvanise, coach and motivate the players on the pitch when the going gets tough. Have we had anyone in that mould since Wood?

Yes, we need more and better options up front, yes we need someone to shore up a powder puff midfield, yes we need someone who can restore our defence to a semblance of L1 capability. We need these technicians but more importantly we need people who don’t go MIA and can give the present group the kick up the backside that it seems to need.

As good as he is I'm not convinced with Bailey as captain. After the mistakes yesterday the players involved needed picking up. Not sure I saw much of that coming from him.

What I saw yesterday is players throwing the towel in at 1-3, totally unacceptable, everyone went missing, even the so called leaders

I've just seen his post match interview.

It's a bit raw. But on the face of it, he's saying "We are playing crap and I don't know why". That's a bit worrying.

I understand that it’s tough for a manager to give an interview after a loss of that nature but the whole interview was concerning.

What about the bit where he says it maybe the case the he gives the players too much confidence? Really odd thing to say.

I don’t really understand the fact he thinks we need to start from scratch. Surely we have a philosophy and style of play and it’s just a case of doing what we need to do but better. Can’t rewrite the whole style in December surely.

Before yesterday's game I said to our old boy clearly we can score goals but not enough if we keep conceding multiple goals.....

For me there needs to be some serious focus on tightening up at the back. We aren't guna win many games by outscoring if we are consistently conceding 2 or more. Need to start getting a few clean sheets on the board and work from there. If this means a change of system then so be it.

Couldnt get my head around Grehan and McGrath starting together with the experience of Pearson sat on the bench. Will never know if it would have made a difference.

More worrying for me was the fact we had an extra man in midfield and they were passing it through us like we had 2 men sent off. It was crazy how easy it was for them to just stand in 5 yards of space all the time.

School boy stuff.

When discussing Centre Halves it strikes me as ironic that we let Anderson go and although he may not have been what we might have ideally wanted in L1, he was more reliable over a season than those we now have in place (and younger than Pearson). It exemplifies the failure to strengthen.
