It really does depend on how you manage the finance, though. If you go gung-ho like Hull did, then it probably will come back to bite you, but if you're prudent like Burnley, then the hit is nowhere near as massive. £48m for the next 4 years (for NOT being in the Premiership? I'll bet JR and our Board would love some of that!

The main problem with how Hull have done it is that they threw money after money to try and stay in the league. Wolves, West Brom and I expect Blackpool do it the patient way. They go up and take the money and slowly build and improve each time.
That's how I would expect us to play it, stuff trying to stay up, take the money and run. Improve the infrastructure and build a strong squad.

I fail to have much sympathy. Some elements in football long-since lost touch with reality, be it the grass-roots game or basic laws of the land like paying your tax. Imagine Nat Lofthouse up against a keeper with braids in his hair in a pink Kappa top?

PS Before anyone says, I know in that photo they're dreads not braids. Very artistic anyway!

Could the reason that they are not playing him be because that they will have to pay him £5000 per week more if he plays another 10 games
