local companys you associate with DRFC

i will put a list up of 5 companys that have left
a lasting impression on me mind due to their addverts
in rovers matchday programmes.

1....'YORK'....a truck repair company
2....'HEATH and SMITH'
3....'HULL BREWERY'
4....'BEN BAILEY CONSTRUCTION'
5....'RINGWAYS GARAGE'

think all of these are from the mid 1970's,which was when i started watching rovers or should i say reading the matchday
programmes me olde man brought home with him.

i got programmes for me sen when i started going with me mates in 1980's but never really read them page to page.

CIL, Pilkington Glass and Barker & Wigfalls pretty much cover my formative years at Belle Vue.

Other regular ‘adverts’ in the match day prog that bring back the memories – The Green Un & Come to the Rovers by bus (always had a picture of the Cantley bus on it).

Moving the topic on slightly ….. Favourite programme covers – For me it’s the one with Glen Humphries in his England Youth Shirts (83/84, my first year) and the one with a very very young Ian Snodin on it, hands on hips, stood over a free kick maybe. (82/83 I think??) because I remember my old man bringing them back from the game.
