Haye v Harrison
« on September 07, 2010, 09:19:41 pm by mushRTID »
Not the biggest boxing fan but I do enjoy watching it and went to Hayes last fight in Manchester and had one of the best nights out ever.

So, iv always seen Harrison as a bit of a joke so why is Haye fighting him?

On my limited knowledge I would have said this fight will be so one sided?

Agreed

I just dont see what Haye has got to gain from this fight, but can see he has everything to lose.

He's worked hard for credability but may lose this with fighting harrison

I am not a boxing fan at all and when I saw these 2 earlier on Telly I thought it was an advert for them being on a chat show together and they were each going to \"beat the other\" in the verbals department

I cannot believe that they are serious about fighting each other - surely Haye will completely embarrass Harrison ? As I say though I am not am expert but AH seems to be a complete joke - though I know enough about Boxing NOT to tell him personally

Ha ha, I remember been in walkabout a few years ago when Harrison v Williams was on the screens.

Had to be the most pathetic 'fight' I have ever seen. They looked like a right dset of fairies.

Mind, I would have been pretty drunk like so might have got it wrong.

Like everyone else, I fancy Haye to win this fight - but he would underestimate Harrison at his peril. Harrison has become a bit of a journeyman over the past few years, taking on opponents I would have a fair chance of beating.

However, he demonstrated in his last fight that he still has a dangerous KO punch - despite beind miles behind on all the judges scorecards (and allegedly carrying an injury sustained in the first round).

Haye is fitter and lighter on his feet, but lacks the power of Harrison. I would say Harrison has 3 rounds to knock Haye out - if it goes any further than that then Haye will win, probably quite comfortably.

The reason this fight is taking place, to quote Steve Bunce \"It makes cash common sense.\" This is a very big fight in Britain and will make more money for Haye than any other fight bar the Klitschko brothers. He could fight genuine challengers like Adamek, Povetkin or even Arreola but very few people in this country would have heard of them. It's just about pounds and pence in the end.

One of those challengers sounds a bit of a tit

Having watched quite a bit of each of them, it's difficult to predict anything other than a Haye victory.

Harrison seems to fight so far within himself, as if he's terrified to open up for fear of getting hit (I know I would be but I'm not a boxer!). I think Haye will be too much for him and will swarm allover him early on. Audley landed a superb last minute knock out punch on Michael Sprott, but most top-level boxers with any reflexes would have telegraphed that one as it started from below his waist! I just think Haye will be too quick for him.

Assuming Haye wins, surely he has to be good to his word and go for a fight with one of the Klitchsko brothers. Wladimir fights tonight so expect another snore-fest.

Agreed its a joke of a fight in every way other than cash, and a major unexpected, undeserved payday for Fraudley.

We'd decided to bin Pompey away and go on Thursday, seeing as last time we tried to watch Haye the fight didn't happen. We'd been to Gelsenkirchen / Dusseldorf for the weekend last summer for the proposed but pulled Wladimir / Haye fight only to see Setanta make a b*llocks of it when they ran out of dough for Haye's purse.

Anyway, got to the MEN / Ticketmaster site on Thursday for tickets and found the cheapest left after 24 hrs on sale at 90 quid. The 25, 40 and 55's were all over viagogo for 65 quid plus so we've reverted to plan A and Pompey away.

So its here then.

Going into town to watch it, not overly arsed about it but would like to see Fraudley get smashed into next week.

Had a cheeky bet too, Haye 1st round.

Anyone else bothered about it?
